I don't know if there's any Georgian style restaurants in the southern states, but I'll have to check it out. The dish with the cheese and egg looked really interesting.
Dari, I enjoy following your adventures and wish you all the best in your studies. You've shown me places I have never seen, all around the world. Nova Scotia, Canada
Dari, great video! Just a couple of comments about the Cloisters. They are actually located in the northern tip of Manhattan (the neighborhood of Inwood). The buildings are actual medieval monasteries that were brought over from Europe.
From a lifelong Bronx resident, thank you for visiting the Bronx, Dari. Manhatten and Brooklyn get all the love but there's lots to see and do in the Bronx. The zoo and Yankee stadium at the top of the list. You do need to be aware and careful of which neighborhoods you visit but that holds true for anywhere in the world.
Dari, I love your videos. The content is wonderful. and your bubbly personality make them so very enjoyable. I am originally from Brooklyn, and went to high school in Brighton Beach. You took me home, thanks.
Your videos have improved so much over time. :) It is neat seeing you give these tours of NYC when not that long ago you were working hard to find a college to come to in the USA. Looking forward to more videos.
Dasha, between this video and the livestream, you are spoiling us. Never been to New York, but if I find myself there, I'll definitely keep these recommendations in mind.
This was a very enjoyable video and informational too. The quality is excellent, and many of us appreciate the amount of work involved. I must admit that one thing that surprises me is how many beautiful areas there are and very few people!
Thank you for another great video Dari! Interesting, informative, great place's, always fun to watch! Love your food reviews as well! Always professionally done. I am sharing this video with my friend's and family.🫶❤❤❤❣️😊
I grew up in the Bronx and could even walk to the Bronx Zoo it was so close to my neighborhood. In the those days, you could even visit the zoo for free on certain days of the week. You should also visit the Botanical Gardens which is located just across the street -Fordham Road - from the zoo. Two great places right next to each other.
The Bronx Zoo looked really cool, looks like they gave their animals some natural looking enclosures to live in. Much better than I remember the Philadelphia Zoo's enclosures being (although I haven't been there in many many years, so maybe they've improved them since then). And the free kayaks seems like a great place to spend some time enjoying the outdoors.
Very nice tips. Ill be sure to check out the 2nd Met museum overlooking the water one day and the Bronx zoo. Fordham University and Botanical Gardens are nearby. Haven't been there since I was a kid. Brighton Beach looks cool but not knowing Russian is hard. And of course Coney Island is a favorite. That free kayaking tip is gold. Thank you!
It's hard to pick a favorite, Dari. I already visited Brighton Beach and Long Island City, but I didn't get to spend much time in either, so I really need to go back.
I've been travelling to NYC a lot this year since my daughter moved there. Each trip, I try to do something I haven't done before. Thanks for posting this video and adding to my list of things to do in NYC!
Great video and now I have a few more places to visit there. I knew the Bronx zoo, but places like little Odessa are probably best known to people who originate from that region. I also like Georgian food and now I have a reason to go there.
As a Bronx native, I’m so glad you visited the Bronx Zoo. You should also check out the Botanical Gardens across the street. And if you want a real hidden Bronx gem, see Wave Hill.
I would come back to NYC for a visit and maybe see a show, but I don't think I would want to live there for any length of time. The last time I traveled to such a large city (NYC in particular) it felt oppressive, like I was in a cage with the walls closing in on me. I might like to travel around New York state instead. Thanks for another awesome travel vlog, Dari! You rock, as always. 😊👍
You want hidden try queens. There’s a massive anime store hidden in a doorway and it’s four levels. There’s a south American Michelin level restaurant in manhattan hidden in a loading bay and it’s no bigger than a street cart. Near Times Square there’s the food hall that is Anthony bourdain’s final project yet it’s not even a blip on any radar. Chinatown has a food hall with a fully trained sushi chef doing a omakase yet nobody knows, it’s right on Mott I believe. Little Odessa has so many hidden spots especially for Russians. Heck the Russian American theater usually has a show running. There’s the restaurant with the waiter who’s massive and has a fire plug head but Russian grandmas run the kitchen.
Wow Dari ❤Thank you so much for sharing this absolutely Beautiful city gems! I Enjoyed this video very much, I enjoy all of your videos by the way. Wishing you a wonderful day ❤🌞
What gorgeous weather you had during your exploration! I live close by in Connecticut but never knew what I was missing in nearby NYC. Now you've got me excited to explore those places myself! Thanks for an amazing preview of those areas! You appear happy and glowing with excitement. I am so glad that you are enjoying your time living in NYC!
There's a lot of Russians in NYC dari, even my boss is Russian!😂 Bronx zoo is beautiful! Went there many years ago on a school trip. Hope you're doing well in your studies. You should be finishing by next year? Have you know the pay for grad students is great here. That's why everything so expensive. BTW, I use filmora on my phone for my rock videos. 😎👍🥁
One like from me and many more future likes for you. 😂 I have being to New York but have never seen those areas. I may have to take a trip there again.
Loving all your videos. Thanks Dasha. Something else that takes one's breath away is you wearing that gorgeous pink blouse. You always look so smart and classy😀
Loved this video of less well-known things to do or visit in NYC. I grew up on the West Coast (California) and I've never been to NYC. The closest I've been to NYC is if I have a layover at JFK International when I fly to Germany to visit my 2 sons. Thanks for these mini video tours, Dasha!
Yes, its 3:58 am EST. Just got home from working a second shift and over time ( extra hours) at our main warehouse packing parts. Last time I was in NY; my Rode Island relative talked me into driving across the Brooklyn Bridge, a task that I will never repeat. 6 Lanes narrowed into the 3 lanes of the bridge and I was so busy navigating traffic that I missed the view off the bridge and the bridge itself. This completes my total memory of New York City when I was 28 years old. ( that was only 37 years ago, where did the time go!!!) Using a hot pad to try to shrink & relax my muscles before bed. Never knew that New York had such beach near Coney Island and I totally forgot about the Bronx Zoo ( never been there) and such nice walk ways on Long Island. No one ever told me that such places existed until now. Great idea for a video that no one else has every made on New York City. Now, how does one avoid the traffic jams to get to such places?
The area near the Brooklyn bridge is called DUMBO. It was a big shipping area when trains were the main method of transport. You can even see railroad tracks in the asphalt sometimes. Dumbo was completely redeveloped into trendy apartments and shops. The seaport area was also redone into a food hall and a place where families hang out.
NYCity is really a great surprise. I loved in particular Little Odessa or Brighton beach, nice vibes indeed and sunny days must be truly amazing down there and also the Met Cloisters along the Hudson river. Fantastic! Great video and thank you very much. 🍀💕🪻
Hey Dasha, The competition in NYC is fierce for your dining $. That's why I think NY has the best food in the world! I really liked that you visited other places than Manhattan. That gives a whole different perspective to the city. When you're walking along the streets in Manhattan, to me it feels like you're down in something 😆Also, don't eat any fish from The Hudson.
Are you back in NYC Dari? Dari. If you walk across the bridge from long island city into Greenpoint you will love it near the water. If you like pizza go to Russ pizza on Manhattan Ave.
I remember the subway system most as it went everywhere. In Manhattan, the street numbers, avenues, and taxis made a personal vehicle unnecessary. Also, the city populace has a way of bringing people together rich or poor in times of struggle. Other cities can't say this. This was my experience anyway, some time ago, back in the day.🙂
And I always thought new york was just about shopping, that beach looks great, reading up about it there's an interesting story about Brighton beach hotel where they move it inland by 495 ft because of erossion by the sea using 13 hydraulic Jack's 1.5 miles of railway lines and 6 steam locomotives...
Actually you pay nothing if you are a New York City resident. Just ask someone about the Met and free admission. Just flash your New York City Id card to the guard. You’re in very quickly. The museum just built the insect exhibit which has leaf cutter ants and rare desert dwelling ants. Ants Canada was there trying to learn about how to create a massive rainforest in a tank. He created a cloud rainforest which is attached to a canopy of trees. All for ants and observing an ecosystem in progress.
Which place you found the most interesting? 😃 Hope you can visit them guys!
