@DariStep Aw! If I knew in advance that you were coming to Chicago, then I could meet you and see you in person. I also fly to New York every year to meet my siblings. Are you going back to Russia after your graduation? Where did the rest of your two friends disappear towards the middle and end of the video?
I grew up in Alaska, but now live in Chicago. I love this city more than I ever thought I would. If you visit here in the summer, definitely take the Architecture Tour.
That price for a car I found ridiculous. This was not even a high visitor season so for parking there are all day deals like workers use. You just have to look into it and of course a pay by the hour will get you. The first stop walking the wrong side of Navy Pier. The north side with the road is for deliveries and people fish off it. Though you can get to things from that side, no attractions face that side for a reason. The excursion to Michigan for a wooded areas and beach was odd as it is Indiana the state that has the State and Federal portions of the Sand Dunes Park. Seemed a very odd choice. No walking really showed, no riverwalk though not yet full season. Mention of Trump Tower and the building shown was not it and it never was shown nor other Chicago landmarks or buildings, but the bean whose surroundings is being redone. For a Airbnb I have seen other videos of those who stayed in a neighborhood taking the train into the core. You just check for transit options and choose one with them for easy access to most of places you might want. Just all seems so cut and missing for a world traveler in the know.... as this is the first video I saw. Plenty other videos of non-professionals and many pretty darn good. Always check weather before on leaves and alter museum days for those days of poor weather ect. Hopefully most days are good weather though early spring clearly will not be best for warmer days. Off season even short notice should find a airbnb fairly easy also near a rail line of direct bus ride. I am far from a world traveler, but have watch many for just vlogs or locals doing them and many of those one-time visitors did a awesome job especially if a great weather period. Better luck next time as it seems you claim you will be back.
Actually just take the L. It’s just not worth the expense in Chicago. You can jump station to station easily and it’s like the subway just elevated. Besides you pay parking constantly so really it’s going to add up quick. Every line pretty much goes downtown anyway. Also the south side isn’t bad just it looks that way as some great restaurants are on that side. I know cook county general hospital is on the downtown though it had a rename to stroger hospital. It’s where the ER tv series took place and where John critchton did his entire career as a doctor. He became an author.
That's incorrect. The ER series was SET in Chicago but filmed in L.A. aside from a few scenes now and then showing the L or other Chicago landmarks. Also, Crichton's first name was Michael, he got his medical degree at Harvard, and never actually practiced medicine after becoming a doctor. The ER series was based on the two hour pilot that he wrote while doing his residency.
@@Frank-Lee-Speeking actually cook county general was real but it changed names to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. It pretty accurately depicted the hospital. And you are right on Michael’s name I forgot ok.
You got me nostalgic for my hometown of Chicago! Yes, Lake Michigan is truly beautiful, so blue on a sunny day, and its view is so expansive that it always looks like more than a lake. I am one of the Chicagoans who loves deep dish pizza, but Chicago also has a unique thin-crust pizza. As much as I like Chicago hot dogs, I’d recommend that you try a Chicago Italian beef next time around-dipped in gravy and with chopped raw onion and hot giardiniera. I used to go to the Green Mill Lounge, which is a historic place, for performance poetry. That’s in my old neighborhood. Autumn is my favorite season in Chicago, but I often go back to visit during December to enjoy the Christmas season. Downtown Chicago has a German-style Christmas market called Christkindlmarket, which is fun. Tips for your next visit. Ditch the car, especially if you stay downtown. It’s cheaper to use public transit and downtown Chicago is a very walkable city. Also, check out the Field Museum, my all-time favorite museum. Glad you loved my hometown!
Dari, you keep raising the bar. 😊 This was a wonderful look at downtown Chicago and the shores of Lake Michigan. It definitely brought back memories as my mom's family all came from that area. I am glad you got to enjoy all that you did 😊 and hope you keep seeing more of America! As someone stated, visiting the upper Midwest will give you a unique taste of America (so worth it and it is much, much cheaper than Chicago or NYC!). And you likely would love the Crystal Bridges art museum as well; it's quite impressive and has so many famous American art pieces. Keep exploring...we love what you do and genuinely appreciate you!
That was a great video. I never thought of visiting Chicago because for some reason it never interest me but now that I watch your video I definitely want to go and visit some of the places that you showed us on your video. Thank you for such a great jobin producing your video to share with us.😊
My first gf from High School through college was Filipino - you can get frozen Lumpia in Asian markets in Queens and fry it with light oil -) enough to just cover the bottom of the roll then turn it as it cooks Don’t deep fry it like some people (filipinos) do, otherwise it’ll make you sick after 3 or 4. IMHO kind of do it like you would a marshmallow turn it just before it burns. Soak out the oil in napkins before you eat it. It takes some practice but it’s a fun cheap meal. The soft round Filipino bread (heated) is also very tasty with a fried egg and bacon - makes for a more familiar breakfast sandwich. Chicago, like most cool cities, and people, takes time to know. Cheers
Dari you're video's never disappoint! Loved this! The skyscrapers are amazing to see! I loved seeing the paintings in the museum. The park's you went to look amazing! I enjoy you're food reviews..."it's a hot dog."😂 Thank you for sharing you're trip to Chicago! Enjoyed watching! ❤❤❤😊
Hi Dari. I'm glad you got to see chi-town, and parts of Michigan! I love at the to of Lake Michigan in the Upper Peninsula, God's Country. Thanks for taking us along.
DARI you are the best thanks for sharing your life with us 🤗 it always a joy to watch please keep up the amazing work you do for us 🤗 your still so beautiful as always ✌️😍❤️🤗
Great video Dari, Chicago looks a great place to visit with the river and tall buildings. Of course you see it a lot in movies, but great to see a personal vlog from its streets. Loved the beach excursion as well, good to see you driving again. Really shocked at those parking charges, clearly don't want cars on the streets. Maybe the railway would have been fun for getting around the city? Always enjoy seeing what you are eating and although you didn't like some of the food this time it's great to try new things when visiting a place. Keep travelling!
The Italian Beef is a better option at Portillo's. Yes, the hot dog "dragged through the garden" is iconic, but probably not their best option. All of the good/interesting food is high in calories, like their cake shake and their fries. Other museums to visit are the Field Museum and the Aquarium. I lived in the Chicago suburbs, but didn't visit Chicago nearly enough. Second City is the place where many American comics built their reputation. The comics needed a day job to pay the bills, and you may find them at Debevic's or other nearby restaurants during the day. Many well known US comics like Stephen Colbert got their start at Second City.
Great video Dari! Definitely like paintings of nature scenes the best. Spent five days in Chicago years ago but was working all day every day and didn't really get to see that much before having to fly back home unfortunately. The little bit I did see was really nice and definitely want to go back. Really glad you enjoyed your trip to Chicago and the surrounding areas.
Good video Dari Chicago looks a nice place and very different than New York with a large big lake but can gets a lot colder than New York in winter. Philippines food looks interesting but never tried one. Look forward to your next video.
Michigan actually has more coastline than the state of Florida which both states are surrounded by water and have beautiful beaches but the water in Michigan is fresh water and the Winters are harsh but atleast you don't have sharks, alligators and hurricanes like in Florida where the winter weather is warm and awesome.I would much rather be in Florida during the winter and in Michigan during the summer .The summers in Florida are uncomfortably hot and humid.
I have been to Chicago 3 times and I absolutely loved it each and every time! The buses and line is so easy to take everywhere. Went to a musical, jazz club, Frank Lloyd Wright architectural tour, shopping, art museum, aquarium, art museum again, multiple eating establishments which were incredible, architectural tour on the river, convention centre,Ukrainian village, waterfront, and even attended the Thanksgiving Parade. It was the coldest weather I have ever been in, and we experienced the coldest day(with the wind chill factor) since 1953 for the parade. Then the sky turned brilliant blue as we ate in a pub across from the Museum. I found the people we encountered so helpful and friendly, and would dearly love to go there again! I am so happy you guys experienced it, and am so happy and grateful I have as well! See you next time ❣️
Glad to here you like american blues music which is what the street performer was playing, Hawkin's "I put a spell on you". R&B is a little more soulful than jazz. There is a strong cultural connection between Chicago and New Orleans. It stretches the entire length of the Mississippi river.
When I visited Chicago in the winter 2014 it was one of the coldest winters ever. I was in the summer shoes and maybe could even lose my foots haha. It was literally -25C or so and much colder than in Russia at the moment. By some reason from the movies I had a picture that USA can't be that cold (except Alaska) so US also has all kind of climates same as in Russia just they probably don't film movies too much in the cold areas or times haha.
@Dari CrazyRussianSergey didn't meet Chicago on its coldest day: it reached -26°F with -81°F wind-chill factor ! It's a Canadian import from the Arctic.
I live 3 hours drive west of Chicago and 2018/2019 was a cold one as well. It hit -36c/-33f. What's interesting is that Chicago is at a latitude similar to Rome, so even that cold, it will be 8+ hours of bright sunshine.
This was a good video. Still a lot left to cover in Chicago, like the other museums and even the Brookfield Zoo. The car with the window broken could have happened a thousand miles away from where you saw it, by the way.
I'm into refrigerator finger painting art. You look amazing in red, definitely your color. Northern cities better in Late Spring and Summer . You need to try a baseball game someday. Wrigley Field would have been a good choice, bet there are lots of good places to eat near the park too.
I rent wherever I go, makes the whole city much more accessible in our expansive metro areas. Wife and I hit Chicago for the first time in Jan. The Loyalist, Bouefhaus and Pequods some great places with v doable street parking.
Dari, It's so weird seeing you filming at all these places that I've been to 😊. I usually only put mustard on a hot dog. I don't eat deep dish pizza much either. I prefer our tavern style pizza which is thin crust pizza cut into squares instead of wedges. Michigan has many more interesting places if you head further north that you'd probably enjoy with your group of friends such as Traverse City and Mackinac Island.
Hello .I liked your movie/ film in Chicago. Many people save on parking to park away 2 or 3 miles. Leave the car near a city public train station and ride in . You only pay $3. Each way 7:16 I just wish you knew a resident here who could take you to many small places, quiet, the best foods ,deserts, treats etcetera. Italian ice lemon is something you'd die for . " Mario Lemonade " two kilometers west of the museum campus. In 16 flavors ?? . Thia is a summer treat may 25 - September 5 , bye .
I had read that it was possible to get very cheap re-possessed houses in Chicago in 2008. Today houses can be got for as little as $40,000 in Chicago. I am surprised that parking is so expensive when houses can be bought for next to nothing.
That price is in .... not so great neighborhoods as all cities have them. Repos I suppose sure much cheaper than normal prices. Just I would not expect a cheap one in the core or best sought areas near the lake. Single homes in a core are very rare. Nearby sure and yes very pricey today. 2008 after the Crash I am sure lots of bargains and I have seen homes for sale now in good areas that are not far over a price if it sold about 2007 vs today. Huge drops in values after the Crash sadly unless you of course got the deal.
The city raised the prices for parking 3x in the past 3 years. The reason is to get people to return to using mass transit: CTA, Metra. Mass transit use is still 50% less than it was before coronavirus. Also, Grant Park and Navy Pier are *the* tourist parking spots and is a big reason the prices there are 2x the rate as other garages around the city.
Thanks for the warnings about parking in Chicago, Dasha! If you arrive by Amtrak train in New Orleans, know that the French Quarter is only a few blocks' walk away. Any part of the city that isn't served by a street car could probably be reached by bus or by a ride-share. Coffee and beignets are cheap, and a must, but if you go to the big Cafe Du Monde location on Decatur, visit late at night (after 10 PM) and bring cash. Oh, and back to the train: if you book a room, or roomette, meals are included in the fare. Could be good for touring the countryside. 👍
New York now has the bean somewhere in manhattan. I heard it was installed two years ago. It’s wrapped around some pillars of a high end furniture store outside.
Dari, this was a fantastic vlog! Loved it! ❤ Definitely investigate the history surrounding the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. It was beyond amazing. Yes, that's 1893. The pier you visited and where you and your friends rode the Ferris Wheel was near the site of that infamous, world-changing fair. There is a true life novel called "The Devil in the White City" that covers the unbelievable and bizarre events surrounding the fair. Truth can be stranger than fiction. It's doubly true here.

Best to get lodging near an “L” station and forgo the car. I grew up on Chicago hot dogs, but the real treat at Portillos is the Italian beef sandwich. Or Al’s Beef on Taylor street. Glad your enjoyed Chicago. I spent a day showing a Slava and Lena around town when they were here 3 years ago. They also loved the Chicago.
I’m not an art lover as the Chinese don’t see art very often. I see it more as a reflection of technique. I look at it more as a study of how someone can create something like that using what techniques. I studied mostly the renaissance masters, a little of Greek art, and some modern artists. Honestly i have this pull towards industrial art like Banksy as I am fascinated by how dark something so simple can become in an instant. It’s kinda why I’m drawn to the fallout franchise as its civilization gone bad just by one decision. Banksy I love because of his dark portrayal of civilization as a whole. He puts a question forwards and makes us think. The dismaland project was a masterpiece of the issues of the time and they even created a display of the Diana crash but in Disney princess form and photographers not caring just snapping away. Banksy makes you think about what is going on in the world and it’s your own job to fix it in your own way.
Kasama was crowded before it received its Michelin star, but now it is REALLY crowded. When you get back to NYC, I suggest Kusina Pinoy Bistro for Filipino food, off the 7 train on Roosevelt Ave. in Woodside (Little Manila), near Jackson Heights.
We drove thru the middle of downtown once there, on a roadtrip, so we didn't see too much. But what we saw looked nice. We went past the Magnificent Mile, with the shopping there. I would like to go back. I heard the neighborhoods are where a lot of action is too out there, such as bars and restaurants. Kind of how it is in Boston too. I'm sure there are some online guidebooks out there, to say which neighborhood are the coolest now. The Ukrainian neighborhood looked nice. So you should check out more neighborhoods next time too. Edit - Also I saw online, they have a popular "beach" right downtown. With lounge chairs and umbrellas etc. You should check it out if you go in summer.
Fyi, Actually the reason we just quickly drove through downtown Chicago on our road trip was, we were about 1 to 2 days late on our road trip getting back. We spent too much time in the other places, and then we had to rush back. We did not plan our timing too well, lol. But I insisted we at least make a little detour and drive through Chicago, to at least get an impression of it. So that's what we did, we just took a quick one hour tour around downtown in our car. And I'm glad we did that. You can see a lot of stuff in an hour lol.
Looks nice you allways find the best in big city it's good to see that part and driving in there I will say IV truck drive all the country and nothing compares to so Cal so much concrete it's mind boggling nothing compares somthing to see just one time in your life thanks so much for sharing
Oh my goodness, you brought me back to my visit to Chicago and supper at Giordanos eating a slice of their deep dish pizza . That was 23 yrs ago and I still recall how delicious it was. But,like you I had trouble finishing one slice! Mmmmmm Oh, and by the way I just checked the temperature of Lake Michigan today on the beaches of Chicago and it is 61* F. So, Dari you are right ,the water is COLD!
Cleveland was not that much different on parking costs in the downtown area. I avoided the parking costs by finding a safe "Rapid" station to park the car in ( ask the locals or someone who is local for a safe station, don't guess) and then I took the "Rapid" ( Rapid= the name for Cleveland's above ground passenger train) to the downtown area. I often walked to my final destination after I got off the train but I could have transferred to a bus at no additional cost. it was often faster to walk rather than taking the bus. The total cost 24 years ago for a round train trip downtown was $3 verses $12 per hour to park the car after I drove it downtown. ( its municiple highway robbery to pay for parking your car) In Milwaukee they have an express bus system with stations to park your car in to get a bus to the downtown and other frequented locations. An express bus system is when the buses have their own lanes on the 4 lane boulivards and interstate highways and the ability to turn all the traffic lights to green as the bus approaches the intersection. ( the bus never stops at an intersection that has a traffic light) Lake Michigan is a very deep lake and maintains a 50 to 55°F (10 to 12.8 °C ) temperature regardless of the season or time of year. This isn't good for swimming in the summer but becomes very handy in winter, especially if your live about 5 miles from it. It is also nice for walking along the shore on a 90°F ( 32.2°C) summer day. Lake Superior and Lake Huron are also very deep and parts remain at a constant temperature all year round. In my opinion, a hot dog is a hot dog no matter where you buy it. Don't get suckered in to buying a Chicago dog or a Ball Park dog, they are all just hot dogs. Personally, I buy most of my hot dogs at the grocery store. I found Chicago pizza too heavy on the cheese. I like vegetables as well as cheese and a good, not super sweet sauce on my pizza. ( they often put a lot of sugar in pizza sauces) Looking a going clear up to Traverse City, MI to see the Sleeping Bear Dunes over plant shut down but I and my wife haven't made up my minds. It also depends on what my bank account looks like.
Great video. Very happy Dari that you enjoyed your journey to Chicago with your nice uni friends! I think this city is really worth a visit! The parks around the lake are amazing! I loved the Art Institute, but parking prices are too high!!! Anyway it was interesting to know Chicago better. Thank you very much Dari💕🌷⚘️🪻
Welcome to my neck-of-the-woods. Portillo's are known in my area as having wonderful beef sandwiches. Actually, I've never tried their Hotdogs. For Hotdogs I usually go to a place only known for Hotdogs and have mustard on mine. If you decide to try the Hotdogs again somewhere, just let them know what you would like on it. Otherwise, it will be piled with ALOT of stuff! If you don't like Hotdogs, that's okay. Also, I agree. Parking in Chicago is EXPENSIVE! I live in the Chicago suburbs and if I go to Chicago, I take the Rock Island train. I hope you and your friends enjoyed yourself anyway.😊❤
Oh, Dari, I didn't see till now you were in my home state. You should have visited the large amish community. You were quite close. They make many items by hand and many people enjoy coming to this area. I live very close to the second largest amish community in the world, which is Northern Indiana.
Small town life is something you need to experience with some time of living there. Quick, but shallow, entertainment is what a big city has. But REAL life is experienced in small towns and cities.
Dari, I have been in Chicago and to be honest I was not impressed. I'm glad you liked Chicago and that you had a great time with your friends. I live in Colorado and in my opinion, Denver is a lot beautiful. What I like about Colorado is the majestic mountains and there are so many outdoor activities you can do. Colorado is blessed with a large mass of the Rocky Mountains; Colorado is home to some of the most scenic landscape views in the world. Colorado was voted the state “with the most beautiful scenery” in a 2013. The Rocky Mountain landscapes provide innumerable hiking, climbing, and biking opportunities in the summer, and, of course, world-class skiing in the winter. Its national parks, like Mesa Verde and Great Sand Dunes, offer one-of-a-kind vistas and illuminating lessons in Indigenous history. The Grand Sand Dunes are the tallest dunes on the continent. Towering, snow-capped mountains, waterfall hikes, natural hot springs tucked into valleys, golden galaxies of aspen trees in the fall-Colorado puts on quite the show. I hope someday you visit Colorado.
Here is a little hint for the less intelligent people. If you want Mountains. Do NOT go to the Midwest. There are none. Is very flat. Also, if you go to a city. Expect city things. Not Mountains and Mountains, and Mountains. If you prefer mountains. Go to the mountains. These are very complex ideas. Hope you can understand.
Have fun!! I spent some time in Chicago for school I remember having a slice of that deep dish pizza was sick for 3 days first and last time. The food portions are big in most restaurants in Chicago.
This is crazy, I started watching your channel because you were in Russia and I wanted to learn about Russia, so what do you do? Go to Warn Dunes State Park which is where I grew up. The light house at St. Joe Michigan was rebuilt by my brother and his friend. There are some very cool spots that I'm glad you missed cause we really don't need the attention.
Parking apps cut those cost by up to half….also helps you find reasonable parking not the one where they definitely pray on out of towners. Alsoooo just Uber and take transit. Transit around north side is fast and safe. There are areas to not take because of a couple bad people. I would say south side but south side has a million people who are good. But about 25000 gang bangers and youth that cause trouble.
What do you think of Chicago, guys? Worth a visit? Personally, I loved it ✨

Thank you so much!
@@DariStep ❤️❤️❤️❣️☺️
Hi Dari. I'm glad you got to see chi-town, and parts of Michigan! I love at the to of Lake Michigan in the Upper Peninsula, God's Country. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching :)
Chicago calls the wind "The Hawk".
DARI you are the best thanks for sharing your life with us 🤗 it always a joy to watch please keep up the amazing work you do for us 🤗 your still so beautiful as always ✌️😍❤️🤗
Thanks for watching :)
I love Chicago!!
I could live there!!
The only thing is !!! The winters are too cold’n
Thanks for your comment !!!

"let's try it out! ...it's a hot dog." that look on your face was SO FUNNY! 🤣😅😂 excellent video, well presented! 👍
Ahahha thank youuu
My Dad's advice on venturesome eating was, "If you can't discern what it was by looking at it, you probably don't want to find out what you ate !"
"Ummm...it's a hot dog." Haha. I feel the same.
😅😅😅
America is a great nation in this world because it is the land of opportunities and freedom
Yes, sadly, we're slowly losing our rights.
Thank you Darell ☺️
Very cool, Ms. Dari. Thank you for taking us along in your discoveries.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good video Dari Chicago looks a nice place and very different than New York with a large big lake but can gets a lot colder than New York in winter. Philippines food looks interesting but never tried one. Look forward to your next video.
Thanks for watching :)
Love your honesty haha. Grew up in Chicago but was never a fan of the hot dogs Try Malnotis pizza next time. Not as heavy and leaden as Giordanos!
Thanks for the rec!
CHICAGOOOOOOO!!! You should go see Michael Jordan’s statue!! 🐐 🐐 🐐
Ahhaha maybeee
For nature lovers, there's Illinois State Park (aka Wisconsin) just north of the Chicagoland area.
It makes me want to go back to Chicago so much! This city is too ignored compared to NYC.
You definitely should :)
Cool video Dari! Howdy from Texas. I never got to see Chicago much when I went due to a plane being delayed.
Thank you Dari for this fun video. Things are very expensive there. Everywhere actually.
So true!
There is parking lot in Chicago Downtown which costs $9/per day. You just need to know the right place 😄
Omg I wish I knew it!
I liked the buildings the food and the view of the láke
It’s Chicago, wait a minute, the weather will change!😂
😂😂😂
See you next time ❣️
Wow sounds great!!
Wow, what a fantastic city to visit! So much to see and do there. I was so happy the weather finally turned nice and sunny for you.
Chicago is truly amazing 😍
Omg crazyyyy
@Dari
CrazyRussianSergey didn't meet Chicago on its coldest day: it reached -26°F with -81°F wind-chill factor !
It really looked like it happened there since there were broken glass all over
I'm into refrigerator finger painting art.
Another town I lived in Dari!
Great travel video 😊
Thank you! 😃
10:15 That's Blues. Chicago is home of Blues music. Have you watched the Blue's Brothers?
Dari is awesome. ❤
The investment banks screwed people greatly in systemic fraud.
Chicago is a big place. She parked right in the heart of downtown, where houses or apartments are probably a million dollars there.
Thank you for the rec 🫶🏼
My son lives in a high rise near Lake Michigan. Love Chi-Town.
Dari Step, so close to me?? Last time I saw your video, you were in Georgia! Welcome to the Great Lakes!
Ahahah thanks!
Hope you had the chance to take the “Ferris Bueller” picture at the Chicago Art Institute! 🤔 🤔 🤔 🖼️
Chicago is cold in the winter
New York now has the bean somewhere in manhattan. I heard it was installed two years ago. It’s wrapped around some pillars of a high end furniture store outside.
Oh really! Didn’t know about it!
I want deep dish pizza now haha
I loved Chicago. Haven't been in years. I loved the art museum as well and I took the water taxi as well to see the buildings.
Niceee
Chicago is pretty nice... I was there for a fraternal convention... It was GREAT!!! -Amazing architecture! Surprisinglly the equal of New York!!!
Totally agree!
I like to travel with Dary even on UA-cam. She is on of my best travellers
Thank youu
Hi Dari , nice place thanks for showing us around ,a lot of interesting sights to see , take care ,safe travels
Glad you enjoyed it Trev ✨
Dari, this was a fantastic vlog! Loved it! ❤
Definitely investigate the history surrounding the 1893 Chicago World's Fair.
Thank you Dan ☀️
If you travel to Atlanta can you visit MLK Church and other African American historical site and museum??
I wanted to also mention if you do come to this area, visit Das Dutchman Essenhaus. It is in Middlebury, Indiana.

Before Chicago went tax crazy parking was $3.50 a day
and the street parking was $0.25 for about a half hour and if the meter was broken it was free.
--
Taking the blue line from, the airport would have avoided the traffic and parking cost.
No where near as good as the Moscow subway though.

6:41 you are in grant park looking at the Art Institute.
You are about at the corner of Jackson and Michigan Avenue looking north on Michigan
You are in the theatre district.
The Art Institute is the only major college in the theatre District.
We were too late setting up the theatre district and most are gone but one block west a few remain.

The Art Institute and grant park are the former parade grounds for Fort Dearborn.

Uptown has shrunk
It was a high class area that became depressed.
We had a program to start restoring the area but the lady in charge embezzled the money
So now the politicians will not gave funds to the restoration program.
So I am very happy you went to the green mill.

Thanks! 😃
Thank you! I love Chi town
Portillos is a popular expanding chain, and the Italian beef sandwich is definitely good, sloppy and tasty.
Amazing!!!
@@dsmj7389 Their burgers are underrated as well.
Chicago has great public transportation. Why would you take a car? You could’ve gotten to downtown by taking the blue line for $3.75.
Because we made a huge mistake ahahah
Kasama was crowded before it received its Michelin star, but now it is REALLY crowded. When you get back to NYC, I suggest Kusina Pinoy Bistro for Filipino food, off the 7 train on Roosevelt Ave. in Woodside (Little Manila), near Jackson Heights.
Ohhh thank you for the rec!
Next time 🙌🏼
Fyi, Actually the reason we just quickly drove through downtown Chicago on our road trip was, we were about 1 to 2 days late on our road trip getting back.
And wen your driving down the sunset Strip or mision bay Blvd in SD play this song Van Halen Panama old school but best driving California
Ahahah exactly 😅
dont get shot!
Thanks for sharing!!!

Ahaha yeah trains are definitely better idea

Oh, Dari, I didn't see till now you were in my home state. You should have visited the large amish community. You were quite close. They make many items by hand and many people enjoy coming to this area. I live very close to the second largest amish community in the world, which is Northern Indiana.

Hi hope your having a good time in Chicago, I hope you also made it to the museum of science and industry! Also the house of blues is a great venue.
Good video. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!
Small town life is something you need to experience with some time of living there. Quick, but shallow, entertainment is what a big city has. But REAL life is experienced in small towns and cities.
did you visit THE BEEF from the show THE BEAR??
The jazz singer looked like Karryn Allison. Very famous.
For anyone visiting Colorado, I'd also highly recommend seeing a show at Red Rocks as well. That's a lifetime memory.
Thank you for sharing your opinion 😃
Here is a little hint for the less intelligent people. If you want Mountains. Do NOT go to the Midwest. There are none. Is very flat. Also, if you go to a city. Expect city things. Not Mountains and Mountains, and Mountains. If you prefer mountains. Go to the mountains. These are very complex ideas. Hope you can understand.
Go to Hannibal, Missouri next.
You should go eat at Ruby's filipno resturaunt.
Chicago Illinois is beautiful place and nice visit there. Has beautiful buildings and food places 👍☀️
It really is!
Have fun!! I spent some time in Chicago for school I remember having a slice of that deep dish pizza was sick for 3 days first and last time. The food portions are big in most restaurants in Chicago.
Oh wow!
Omg!!
Nice video! I like the art museum.
Thank you very much!
@@DariStep I also liked the Jazz and water taxi :)
