You are definitely my fave youtube channel at the moment, i have been going through lots of the older stuff whilst i have been off sick. I have a similar set up tablewise with the plan to eventually get back into some wargaming videos on my Arjades Rangers channel. But lately I just haven't had the energy to get off my butt and film. (I also have a 2 year old and 4 year old keeping me run ragged haha) I often find myself struggling with the tripods and getting them to do what I want. Haha it was some refreshing fun seeing someone else hit the go button on their phone with the clip, it happens all the time when i film on my one. Haha. Thank you for being such an inspiration and positive role model in the community. It makes me want to game more and even sparks the fire to get filming again

Good stuff - I'm a sucker for production shop talk, lots of fun to see your process. The 180 degree rule ("fence" rule) has saved me so many times; that's awesome, never occurred to me to use it in a battle report context.
My biggest takeways…film from the same direction every time. It keeps the order of battle more in line for the viewer. Because I can go around my table, doesn’t mean i should. Also, i should remember the small battles can be great. That may help my burnout a bit. I recently did a couple of small 2x2 battles and they were fun because they were quicker to set up play and take down. And while they were simple terrained, I could have done ‘em up a tad more.

Great video and inspiring. I've tried before and realised I have a great voice for mime. I knew about "not crossing the fence in TV dialogue, it never occurred to me re filming wargames. Although like you I struggle to access the far side of the board. Your USP is the variety of indie games you play. I don't always like the rulesets but do tend to watch your videos through to the end. And as an indie channel I used to support sadi before he went back to paid employment, Subscribes, likes and comments, drive the UA-cam algorithm and I've never noticed you push it. I think I saw one of your early videos, probably a covid era, on one hour wargames possibly, and thought this guy deserves looking at. I think I watched about 6 or 7 videos over 3-4 days and then subscribed. Keep with it, I geniunely enjoy your honesty with your fumblethroughs

I just want to put up some battle reports for people to enjoy to 'give back" to all the people that have put theirs up that I have enjoyed watching. A couple of questions: Where do you position your big tripod for the wide shots? Do you put it in the middle and sit to the side of it, or do you sit in the middle and sort of put it over your shoulder? Also, what video editing software do you use?

those lamps with the diffuser filters look useful, I have a hard time getting the lighting right in my game videos
I used ten dollar deal lamps from WalMart for a couple years. They are a little more fiddly, but they can get the job done.
