Hello everyone! Today I'm going to be reacting to Bad Place by Novella. What'd you think of my reaction? What'd you think of my review? What should I react to next?
This is one of the most underrated christian rock band.... I've been listening to them for a very long time...infact there are two songs that I've covered live..... 1.Dont you run. 2. Heaven's on mind. Novella is a great band.... Especially the Vocals...just perfect...
The whole album is a slab of perfect art-rock. Emotional and heart-felt like Journey. The writing and lyrical tapestry, as well as the overall soundscape, really paints a picture of a band that was under appreciated in its time. Another one I would say the same thing about is a band called SAVIOUR MACHINE and their first self-titled album. Both of those disks are 10/10 in any musical genre-secular or Christian. Feasts for the ears. God bless and Metal on!
Great songwriting and exceptional vocals. Underrated. Still waiting on that reaction to The Showdown. Another suggestion: Bride - would you die for me or psychedelic super jesus.
Yes! I'm still hoping to react to The Showdown, I'll try to get that out soon! I've already heard those Bride songs btw, so unfortunately I can't react to them. Bride is a fantastic band however!
Don’t forget Overcome -When Beauty Dies You won’t regret it. They came out in the 90’s when the Straight Edge movement grew but they are Christian. A band I was in actually opened up for them and No Innocent Victim back in the late 90s.
Novella has always has deliciously ambiguous but yet pointed lyrics. One could say, "artistic". But what always intrigued me was the song composition and production. Listen for the layers and the quite nice, just overdriven guitar tones. Like can hear each individual string. Big influence on me when started finding my own tone. For _Liquid Earth_ , the addion of Derek Jan on guitar. Guy's a riot. But while this track serves as a nice intro, my two absolute favorites are "Fire Eyes" and "Missionary". The somewhat Extreme "More Than Words" realm of sound "Heaven's On My Mind" got a decent amount of airplay in the early 1990s
I saw this band in '92 or '93 (I think; not sure) and I was really disappointed. I had bought an album, which I found kind of vanilla, nevertheless I had read good things and decided to check em out live. I found that they were playing everything slower than the studio recordings, and with very little energy. I ended up wandering away before they were halfway through their set.
Soulful and passionate snarling in the background. So good.

Love them!!!! Both albums are classic!
Hidden gem, Jonathan Pagano the singer very talented. My favorite song of theirs is Fire Eyes. 🔥
Awesome! I may have to check out Fire Eyes!
Just listen to both albums in their entirety....❤

Great band my brother, listen the first album Open sky ok 🎶🎵🎸🎶🎵🙂♥️✝️👌👌
One big sky
Very 80s, but fairly unique. Super easy on the ears without being totally uninteresting.
Early 90’s, but yes - unique indeed.
Agreed
Novella was such an amazing band. It's a shame they only did two albums. For suggestions.... have you reviewed any Mangled Carpenter yet?
I haven't reacted to Mangle Carpenter yet, what particular song should I check out?
@@Metal777 "Clawing The Ark" might be a good one.
