    It's great to see you planning for expansion and upgrades. A hint to make your planning easier - keep in mind the standard sizes of lumber. Plywood sheets are 4 foot by 8 foot, studs are 8 feet long, doors are 24 or 32 or 36 inches wide. It makes the life of your carpenter simpler if he doesn't have to cut to your plan of 6.5 feet by 10.5 feet, or find a door to fit your opening of 38 inches or 22 inches. Measure twice, cuss once.

      Back in 1998 I designed my own house using these exact principles.
      I shaved $110,000 off the cost of my house.
      5 bedrooms, each 4.8 x 3.6 meters, 2 bathrooms, 6 meter x 6 meter lounge. 4.8 meter x 10.8 meter kitchen.
      Quoted price $180,000
      Actual price $70,000
      Savings $110,000 😆

    GREAT carpentery for an auto mechanic 😁!! And I loved his ghost costume that he was trying out 🤣.
    Looks like those are some really good adoptions. You guys seem to get a lot of owner surrenders. It's just absolutely wonderful that folks bring them to you rather than the auction.

    You need to work out the success you're having with surrenders and pass that on to other rescues . The job you're doing is awesome stopping the horses going to auction rehabbing then assessing them giving a owner the confidence to take on a animal because you have there's and the animal best interests at the heart of everything and also if it doesn't fit the herd it can be returned. Truly awesome organization ❤

    Wow! You guys have some REALLY NICE looking horses compared to Horse Plus. Not knocking or down grading them in any way, they get some nice horses from time to time as well but your selection of horses are beautiful animals. Hard to believe someone could just throw them away as if they meant nothing at all to them! Horse plus seems to have a lot of unhandled horses or horses that need training and have never been ridden. Sure wish i was closer to you so i could snap up one or maybe 2 of those you have. Jazz, Vanilla and Bing i fell hard for!❤❤❤

    You have such a beautiful relaxing atmosphere there, it’s so nice to watch - love your videos, you show life how it is. I love that you go for lots of trail rides with the horses - you don’t see that at other rescues. I find this pretty important - you really do an all round training👍🏼. I am so happy to see so many animals getting a new home, they all so deserve it. Thanks for everything you all do- it’s marvelous. Things are also coming into place for that X-ray Maschine. You are so incredibly lucky how that turned out. It’s going to be awesome having that. Love seeing Nate around doing things, he is such an awesome fella. Little Freia at the end was so excited, what a cutie! Hope she has many beautiful years with her Pony. ❤️❤️

    New sub here and absolutely love your channel! Loved that many went to their new homes. And it was so exciting to see that precious child find the perfect pony for her to start her new life's adventure with her new companion. In my strong opinion every little boy and girl should own a loving pony in their childhood. AND!! there is good news for families that cannot afford a pony or horse for their children!!! There are various of organizations that provide ponies, horses, transportation like horse trailers, tack, supplies and everything for under income families with children who are interested in participating in the equine communities. Best place to start in the US is 4-H and each state has 4-H. I encourage families to contact their local 4-H department and find out what they offer. 4-H even includes children with disabilities and special needs. 4-H is one of the world's best community to join for families, both children, teens, and adults to get involved. So do not allow finances to get in the way, seize the opportunity in seeing your children to have an experience of a life time in their interest of ponies and horses.

    Hello I'm new this is not derogatory just an explanation as a person that has been to horse sales their whole life and the reason it's hard to adopt out horses from shelters is it cheaper to go to a horse sale and get one I know that's a bad thing for shelters but it's just fact I know this for one reason because I myself would have had a rescue before health issues

    • @PonyTalesRefuge
      @PonyTalesRefuge  11 місяців тому

      You are correct. It is cheaper to go to a sale. Initially. Adopting from a shelter though, you do not have the expenses of vet, farrier, training, etc. as that is all done before the horses are adopted. :-)
