People call these hybrid dress sneakers. Lots of people hate this concept. I personally like it because I put comfort over anything. My only issue is there's not many out there that look sharp, specifically with a foam heel block. I believe people will come to welcome this concept, especially when companies improve their looks. Nice video!
Thank you! Yes, some of these hybrid shoes look pretty awful. The Original Grand from CH in the video are some of the more muted styles. Some have crazy shapes in the soles. This is actually a video idea that I have!
@@tommilano5431Check out Cole Haan Osborne Grand 360 Oxford, and Johnson & Murphy - Upton Plain Toe. These imo are currently the best looking dress sneakers after countless research. And they're well cushioned, especially the Cole Haan's. Amberjack is another shoe company I've been meaning to try.

I heard that back in the day, traditional oxford shoes were actually considered casual shoes. Today, they are considered dress shoes. Absurd how they just change the rules as time goes on.
Thanks for the video. I been looking at these shoes for a few years, but haven't bought them yet. I think I will now... Looking forward to seeing how these are.
You’re welcome! These are great, comfortable, and affordable shoes. I’m about to get them in all black to replace my old ill fitting leather soles black dress shoes.
@@tommilano5431 I'm looking at some of their sneaker variations for a future add-on myself. My oldest pair may be good thru the rest of the year so we shall see!!
Hi bro. Good video! So, for my first pair of Cole Haans, would you recommend these or the zero grand? I like it brown with white, and I tried them both but found the original narrower I guess? I will appreciate your comments. Thanks.
@@tommilano5431 thanks. And on a separate note, I’m also between Thursdays Captain with regulare sole vs the stormking it’s my first pair of Thursdays which ones do you recommend? Thanks in advance!
That’s awesome! Although these are far from the best made leather shoes, they have become my go to shoes when I walk around NYC for vlogs and don’t want to wear regular sneakers, they are that comfortable. Thanks for watching.
They are. I've worn them with merino wool socks in 15 degrees farenheigh, no issues. However, a better option would be the chukka boot version of them. It's actually waterproof and is a bit warmer. www.colehaan.com/originalgrand-remastered-chukka-boots-wp/196414666335.html?src=googleshopping&glCountry=US&glCurrency=USD&Bdscampaign%7D&Bdscampaignid%7D&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADuDPeeiagNAPvNZ29KiqKQvAyLfz&gclid=Cj0KCQiAgJa6BhCOARIsAMiL7V8k9mfvPjEtp99hMPSnicFlIsotPhn_elJrNeBZVvzFwZkjKqo136EaAubfEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
If you have the money, it can’t hurt to give them a try. They are on Zappos and Amazon, and sometimes go on sale. If you don’t like them, you can always return them as long as you don’t wear them outside.
I'm 25. If you ask me, you're at the perfect age to wear these. They are not super elegant like dress shoes, but you can dress them up with dress shirts or casual suits. No one is going to bat an eye of think you are out of place because you're in your 20s.
Hi Tom, Cole Haan was previously my go to brand. I now find their quality control and sizing consistency to widely vary so I've moved on. I do like your very positive review and would like to purchase these oxfords. In your experience, do they run wide, narrow, medium? Size? My recent Cole Haan experience was with their tennis sneakers and I found them narrow and very uncomfortable . A previous pair of CH boots which I wore was medium width but one size too large. Thanks for your feedback.
These Cole Haan shoes are made (among others) in China, India and Vietnam, i.e. any place but the US. They are not outsourced there because of a higher level of workmanship which US workers cannot safeguard, but because the company wants to cut corners in wages. So the poor labourers in these countries are paying the price for these shoes - and the American workers that have been made redundant.
I am not a fan of these shoes. They look cheap to me. If you can afford it I would stick to brands like Allen Edmonds. I can't see how those would look good with a suit or a blazer. Casual jeans sure.
These are definitely not as premium as Allen Edmonds or the likes, but they serve a different purpose. For me, they are comfortable beater shoes, that I don’t mind getting soaked in the rain or getting scuffed up.

I wish Cole HAAN would utilize their current designs and produce shoes similar to the quality of Mephisto.
That would be great if they did that. Although I find Cole Haans to be fairly priced for what they are.

Thanks for watching. Yes I would recommend these over the Zeros. They are more comfortable and lady’s a bit wider then the zerogrands.

Is it true to size?
They are pretty true to size for me.
Are those good in cold weather?

These run at a medium width. I’ve found that the zerogrands run narrow, but these are just right.
