COLE HAAN Dress Sneaker Makeover | A NEW LOOK for these Shoes

  • In this video, we give this pair of Cole Haan dress sneakers a bit of a makeover. Many shoes, such as these, aren't necessarily meant to be resoled, but with a little creativity, it's possible. The owner is a family friend and former Air Force flyer. He's also a big Alabama Crimson Tide fan. We incorporated a bit of this into the shoe. Well, another restoration is complete! Time for another one!

    Classy!
Changing from that cheezy, ribbed sole to that multicolored crepe sole with the clean edges looks great!
Excellent job, sirs! Happy weekend! 🤙👞

After watching a lot of shoe repair videos the last two weeks it really has me thinking shoe repairs might be the most underappreciated and underutilized profession in the 20'th century. Everybody likes nice shoes, but almost nobody will think of giving their old shoes a new life over buying a new pair. Which makes me wonder why you guys haven't made your own line of shoes. Everybody is looking for new shoes, but not everybody is looking to repair old ones. It's like the chicken and the egg, if people land on your store when searching for quality shoes they'll also discover they can send them back in for refurbishment

Question for you Richard. How much would you pay for a pair of bespoke handmade shoes? They are out there, but they usually cost between $3,000 and $4,000,.
My guess for the reason these guys don't make their own shoes is the same reason even the world's best mechanics don't start making their own cars. Because while it could be done, there are not a lot of people lining to spend that kind of money.

I don’t know what it is that makes this sort of “rags to riches” resole so satisfying, but something about turning mediocre build quality old shoe into a a higher quality version of itself makes my heart smile. I’ve watched this video like 5 times now lol

Good morning guys . After watching this video it made me wonder if you could take a regular pair of shoes and convert them to a sneaker and in the case of these sneakers since they are a nice looking wing tip if you could have made them into an actual shoe with a leather sole and heel ? The finished product looks great BTW . It always amazes me what a little conditioning and polish can do. Have a great weekend.

Most people don't even understand that Cole Haan designed the Lunar series outsole for Nike.
If you want a crepe/wood/leather sole for a pair of Cole Haan shoes, buy them.
But for anyone hating on this style, know that he created that outsole for Nike and carried it over to his own shoes after a business split

These look so much better than the original manufacturer's version. For me it's like spending "too much" on a hot rod build... It ain't the same shoe anymore. It's custom. The uppers are just the base of a project, so from that perspective it's worth it.

I had a pair of leather timberland shoes that I wore to work every day for years until they literally fell off my feet. They were only $70.00 shoes or less. It was a style they no longer make. If I had known back then, I would have paid 4 or 5 hundred dollars to resole these shoes with no problem. I really miss those shoes.
