This whole chord progression is diatonic to A Ionian (F# minor is the relative minor). Use A major pentatonic or F# minor pentatonic (both use the same notes). Flesh out some of the triads using the A Ionian mode if you want more of a challenge. Remember to play what's in your head, not what your fingers want or what your eyes see! Greatest backing for beginners and intermediate players! So much fun to practice pentatonic, blues and major escales + arpeggios.
Y' know, this is one of my favorite guitar solos in all rock and roll. I know it pretty well and if I do say so myself, I'm not exactly a slouch on guitar. But I got to say I found it very challenging to get close to Gilmour's style and not fall back onto speedy licks or my usual stuff that always seems to sound good. I've always respected him as a guitarist but now, even more so. When they say he makes every note count, he really does make every note count. It's really not that easy to play this slow. It's counterintuitive but it's so. You need to find those notes that count and continue to sound fresh and not repeat yourself. It's really not easy.

He definitely had a way of letting things breath in beetween. Something I'm trying to remind myself more when I improvise.

Thanks, bro. This backing track has allowed me to just nail the fuck out of the Time solo. It really gives you an opportunity to hone all the little nuances, and really wail on those bends and vibratos untill you get them just right. I wish all solo backing tracks were this cherry.

This is a fun one
This is awesome! I use it to try and connect triads with soloing. works amazing, just the right amount of challenge.
Btw for all you intermediates out there: try it. It also helps you learn the notes in the fretboard if you think of the triads anchored to the root e.g. f#m: find the f# on e.g. the B-string -> 7 fret. Your chord around the B-string is the Dm-shape. Same with G-string: 11th fret, Am-shape etc... This is the best exercise i know right now. Thank you so much!

F sharp minor pentatonic should be your base. Build into a major in chorus. No need for all these notes. Keep simple and pimp them strings. Quick tip for every major or minor chord, there is its alternative major or minor. Few examples include e minor/g major, a minor/c major, d minor/f major. And F sharp minor/ a major. Understand this with pentatonic major and minor positions 1 through 4 at least and you can shred this beautifully for hours. This is for anyone reading not just the reply. Now you shred
