Super Mario All-Stars - Commercials collection

- Now let's take a look at some commercials from the original Super Mario All-Stars, straight from the 90s. Wild times. Some UK ads feature British comedy legend Rik Mayall.

Okay, maybe not.

Okay, maybe not.
Okay I never realised Vyvyan from The Young Ones did the UK adverts that's sick
Wait it was free?
Nintendo: always has been 😐🔫
Of course, Nintendo did not bother to fix the brick physics bug in SMB1 and SMB LL for the re-release on Nintendo Switch Online. The original SNES/SFC cartridge they had a valid excuse as there was no feasible way to update games back then, and issuing a recall to give buyers new updated cartridges would be too expensive.
But now? They can certainly change a few bytes in the ROM to fix it if they wanted to.
There is a ROM hack that does fix it. Fans do to Nintendo games what Nintendont. Better shaders and filters when playing in a decent open source emulator anyway.
"They can certainly change a few bytes in the ROM to fix it if they wanted to. " That's just it, they don't want to!

And that was before Sega became one of Nintendo's partners in the gaming industry, producing games since the GameCube era.
@fruitstar2522 Naturally. They were rivals but then Sega screwed it really badly with the Saturn (thanks to their American brand didn't "get along" with the main office in Japan) and after releasing The Dreamcast, they just tossed in the towel and became third-party developers.

if anything the lost levels is pretty underrated. I used to have a pretty low opinion of it but grew to like it a lot after playing it a bunch. It's just that it's so much trickier than SMB1 that it's offputting at first.
Difficult doesn't mean bad.
Just because you throw a tamper tantrum because you died again, doesn't mean The Lost Levels is badly made.
@@JackOfen no, it is bad because of the bullshit like mandatory invisible blocks, troll warp pipes that send you back to world 1, jumps that ate impossible if you get to near os the chasm because the screen wont scroll back, etc.

I like how some of the commercials really show their country's culture
Which I love.. Every country has a different culture and that's awesome..
I totally remember the 2nd commercial at 0:34, and looking back on this a quarter century later, I really enjoy the fact that Nintendo was trying so hard to hype a compilation of games that half their userbase probably already owned and had likely played to death :P All-Stars is a novelty at best, and Lost Levels was probably the most uninspired "Mario" experience I had as a kid (which is probably why NOA elected to push for an entirely new game instead of just a more difficult version of the first one). I had friends with SNES back in the day, and we all preferred to play mario 1, 2, and 3 on the NES even if they owned All-Stars.
1:04 - myself, and literally everyone I knew as a kid, got a free game with their Genesis. Altered Beast, Sonic 1, Sonic 2, streets of rage, some football bs, I got Sonic 2 with mine AND had a free mail-in offer for one of a handful of different games (I chose Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, I don't recall what the other options were)... there were lots of different pack-in or mail-in games available, and I'm sure none of them were compilations of older games from the Master System with a prettier skin ;) This commercial must have been right in the middle of both machines' popularity; the clueless kid with the Sonic shirt seems like a direct call-out to the Game Gear commercial with the kid (Ethan Suplee) hitting himself in the head with a squirrel just to see more colors on his GameBoy... or maybe that was a retaliation to this one? Who knows, 90s commercials were absurd :D
You Didn't To Write A Novel But OK
WE HAVE COMFRIMATION THAT THIS GUY WON THE CHEERIOES SWEEPSTAKES(The choices were Toe Jame and Earl and Mean Bean)
I wish internet console war arguments would go back to being NES/SNES vs. Genesis.
0:48 pay close attention to the SMB1 Fire Mario sprite
So they had the right color palettes for Fire Mario, but then decided to invert them, and then changed it back in later installments.

I bet that sonic jam for the saturn was sega’s ansure to supermario allstars,

Now looking at it after all now, i wish that nintendo added an option to let you choose whether you want to play it in 8bit or 16bit on snes,
But hey, with nested emulator, i now finally can play those mario nes games on snes ,albeit mario 3 still yet runs buggy and could randomly crash on the powerpak(unless you play it on snes9x) trough you must avoid the roulette & memory game to prevent crashes in all cases, but still, this is a wet dream that finally have become reality😀😀
