I'm excited to pick it up, and try my hands at being a Dungeon Master for once. I'm extremely familiar with the world, and excited to see the new subclasses, and dunimantic spells.
I only wanted spells from the Dunimancy (sp?) family and would happily have purchased an unofficial list from the man. But this? THIS is so much more that I will be positively ecstatic to learn and add to my worlds.
will there be stats for the Crimson Weasel, since it seems fairly tough? Since rival schools are a staple in martial arts stories - is there a Kobold Soul school of monks who specialize in deception and trickery as the Cobalt Soul specializes in information and knowledge?
Yeah. The emotions are real but.... It's not actually, true though. The 4e core books introduced a new setting in which most of that editions adventure modules took place. It just never got a dedicated setting book. Then there was Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica in 2018.
I’m already exited to run a game set in Wildemont around 25 years after campaign 2 where Kiri a Kenku rogue is the senior member of an adventuring group called the Mighty 9. The founding members have moved on to a post-adventuring life but Kiri keeps the groups name alive with everyone she “Welcomes to the Mighty Nein”
It occurs to me that, even though she will likely be referred to only by her titles of Everlight and Dawnflower, the Pathfinder deity Sarenrae will also be added to official D&D because of this book. : )
Christoffer Nope. The rest of the Exandria pantheon is Dawn War, but Sarenrae was a Pathfinder/Golarion deity that got brought in because Mercer didn’t want to make Ashley Johnson change her cleric’s deity.
That's so true, I didn't even think of that! As they have the rights to use WOC property now, I believe the gods will have their names back in this new book - a recent Weekly Encounter on D&D Beyond set in this setting refers to the Wildmother as Melora, so that's what makes me say that. However, since Sarenrae is Paizo owned, they will face some difficulties with her name, especially if they want to keep the main pantheon consistent with all the deities having names. In an episode of Campaign 2, he made a brief reference to her and called Sarenrae - Rae, The Everlight. It would have been around the time Matt would have been starting to prepare the book if I'm not mistaken, and that may be her future name for the book? It doesn't change it completely but still provides a name rather than just a title. I'd be interesting to see how they handle it. Maybe they will just still use the titles, who knows.
