Currently a few sessions into this campaign, my first true DnD adventure and i'm having a bloody blast! Lots of RP and action too, into our first true dungeon "the rise" and my axe is thirsty for more!
Okay, at this point, y'all should release the full length interview instead of these snippets. We get it, you're hyping up the book, butat the same time, you have a bunch of people who want to see and hear the full interview since it's Matthew 'Motherlovin' Mercer (didn't want to swear) and the man is interesting.
Just bought it for roll20 and I'm going to run my first one-shot and it's going to be in Jigow! I've been a critter and player before and I always liked Jigow.
One of the reasons I love Xorhos is its like America used to be. a Melting pot of every society and race possible. Well that, and Drow are not all evil just because they are Drow! Though I really REALLY wish Matt would flesh out the Palled Elfs a bit more. there's not much to work with trying to make back stories about your character when you don't know the history of his home yourself!
You might enjoy Eberron. Keith Baker created a "monsters are people" world over 20 years ago. (It's also the setting for which Changelings, Kalashtar, Shifters, and Warforged were created.) It's still my favorite for a thousand reasons.
I think it would be interesting to be a human in Jigao and have all the people giving you wary, u trusting looks and have prejudices towards you, feels unfair to only do that to half-orcs
I'm not sure I understand the title, very interesting content but I don't feel like they touched upon the subject of starting your adventure in the Netherdeep. Did I miss something?
A friend convinced me to run this adventure once it comes out in exchange for him running Strixhaven. While I'm not usually a fan of Matt's flavor of fantasy, I do think I'll enjoy running this
I like crit roll. Sounds great, but some of us like playing orcs because we relish is overcoming adversity and critics. For me, if I want to be accepted I'll play a halfling, human, ...but if I want challenge I'll pick a monster race.
Maybe you can have this in the setting by being something that is not accepted, not because of hoe you look but because of what you are. Maybe a necromancer that is trying to find a cure for her village illness that is frowned upon for delving into dark magic. Or maybe a criminal that has been nurtured into that life and now is hard for them not to live by cutting purses and pickpocketing. It's your world! If you want adversity, it doesn't have to be for your race
"It's roleplay heavy"
....yeah i expect somehow non the less of a book from Matt 🤣
Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Can't wait. It will be my first attempt at DM'ing a campaign so very excited to dig in.
Same here.
It's really cool from what I read in it.
As a DM i do enjoy RP heavy sessions more than combat, even though combat is arguably easier. So I can't wait to peruse this book
Matthew Mercer is a national treasure. Without him, I would have never got into D&D
Everything I learn about this book makes me more excited for it! Really looking forward to it, especially for the roleplay.
It'll be my first adventure as DM and I can't wait for it. (yeah, I know it'll be hard, but I'm feeling enthusiastic)
Lots of great resources out there for new GMs. "How to be a great DM" is my favorite channel for GM tips.
It looks like Netherdeep can sit comfortably in an Eberron game. Possibly in the Shadow Marches near the border of the Demon Wastes or Drooam
Sure buddy
I mean... Yeah it can, or you can try something new. I'm always confused when people reject newer settings and cling to older ones for nostalgias sake
Jigow feels closer to Droaam vibes
I like the inclusion of orcs and goblins a regular Joe's. I love playing kobold and goblins best
I would really like to see… You know… “The interview”… Instead of a bunch of five minute soundbites
FREAKING SAME
Think about how many more views, and likes and comments he gets by doing it this way... rather than one long video. But i agree with you!
They want interaction and small bites are more likely to get clicks than one single video
Prefer it this way tbh. Nice little segments to throw in during break
Algorithm would like a word.
One of my players bought me a book for D&D the other day. Soo touching!
I hope when the books out I can piece together all these 5 minute clips for the full interview.
DM's pet.. I wanna be DM's pet 🤣🥰
exactly what i was thinking
1:13 This character looks like she could be Jester and Fjord's kid.
Maybe she is
Hot diggity! I havent been this excited about an adventure module since Dragon Heist. Really looking forward to this one!
Ok, am I the only one who thinks it's Shaggy from Scooby Doo when I look at the guy in the upper righthand corner of the cover?

This. exactly this, eloquently put @Sam the Actual Kenku
Ultimate creator mind of Matthew Mercer genius sir
I enjoy these interviews but I wish they were longer rather than chopped up into 3-7 minute shorts. Figured I'd toss my opinion in there.
It's crazy that you got Mercer to keep coming back on multiple days to do 20 different 5-minute interviews...
I am so excited to get this adventure!
Peeping the Ampeg cab and Darkglass head there...
I think CR has done a fantastic job I am so proud of them! I love CR!

@@elementzero3379 I have the Ebbron campaign setting.
Any chance to see this interview in full?
I would love to see the full interview. I can’t find it anywhere. Anyone know where it is?

I am excited for this so much
upload the full interview
You had me at you can definitely play this as a hack and slash!
Talk is cheap but looted items are worth half their listed price.

Does anyone have a link to this full interview? I grow tired of bits and pieces. It's feels awkward seeing out of order as scraps.
I Love the whole concept Matthew Mercer is the best DM ever
🤘🍻🤘
