Girl - spironolactone.. that's what cleared me up finally! I avoid any drying topicals bc I have both oily and dry skin.. spironolactone + zilxi -- the zilxi is the only one of it's kind (topical antibiotic and anti-inflammatory..) and its moisturizing as well (coconut oil and soy bean oil I think.. it's very gentle!) I also love Dr Vanita Rattan -- so I'm a white girl but I use her recommendations bc they make so much more sense especially for sensitive skin types lol. So I use hydrating CeraVe cleanser, micellar water, and the CeraVe cream moisturizer.. plus zilxi at night. I'm having trouble though figuring out a sunscreen for my daughter who gets eczema with chemical sunscreens or fragrance - I'm afraid to try the black girl kid sunscreen on her bc it's chemical still.. so mineral sunscreens are better for sensitive or acne prone skin (I LOVE coppertone simply mineral face.. it's greasy but it's fine when I apply makeup over it and a bit of powder..) but mineral sunscreens they literally turn my daughter purple 💜. I need eczema friendly options that don't discolor her.
Thanks for sharing! I will look into spironolactone. I love Dr Vanita Rattans videos! I don't have any specific reccs for eczema but I do have sensitive skin. I'm still on the hunt for perfect mineral sunscreens but I would recommend having her try CotZ mineral. They were pretty gentle for me with minimal to no white caste. It’s the Shea butter in the kids sunscreen that make it feel heavy. Make it matte contains oils that confuse me 😬 And coconut oil has the potential to break you out so I would be cautious it’s highly comedogenic.
I also have oily acne prone but sensitive skin. Went on vacation recently and a mineral sunscreen had me looking like a ghost lol Thinking of trying the kids one because it says hypoallergenic but now concerned after your review so thinking I might get it for my body and maybe try the Beauty of Joseon for my face.

Should always use a moisturiser before sunscreen as the moisturiser creates a barrier "second skin" between your pores and the chemicals. It's beneficial to have a good quality moisturiser that can absorb the good ingredients between the sunscreen layers. 🙂
A lot of sunscreen can double as a moisturizer so it’s not always necessary. I find that mineral sunscreens can sometimes be drying so I like to moisturizer first but I don’t have that issue with most hydrating chemical sunscreens. It really depends on your skin care needs and the type of sunscreen your using. 😊
I hate the shiny, tacky feel of mineral sunscreen ugh. I haven’t found one yet. If I put it on in stages, it is less shiny and a little less sticky. I definitely have to skip moisturizer and I have normal to dry skin. I haven’t tried either of these.
Same, its not as matifying as I would like but I just balance it by putting less moisturizer on. I ended up putting the product in a different container after it broke. Hopefully they fix that!

The matte isn’t completely shine proof but it is definitely less greasy than the kids version. Let me know your thoughts after you try it 😊

I got the newer or maybe older tube thats a twist top and that cracked too 🤦🏾♀️I was expecting the matte to be matte matte tho

No you don't need to. I usually blot with a napkin to pick up my extra oils before reapplying but you can just add it as is if you want 😊
is the 45 one good its supposed to be stronger than 30 i never even use sunscreen and i heard everyone should wear sunscreen even in the winter
Yes sunscreen all year 😊 They both offer good protection but it’s really down to what finish you prefer.
