This is good. Many people are of the false idea that having braids means they can go months on end without cleansing their scalp. Scalp, like all skin, needs to be washed regularly.

@@sherwood9917Thank you for this! I wish the false narrative that black hair doesn't need to be washed would die. People wouldn't go 3 months without taking a shower, so why do that with hair. Your scalp is skin that needs to be cleansed, which is why you focus on the scalp when washing the hair.

I think this must be very individualized because if i wet my braids let along soak my hair in a shower my scalp becomes frizzy and my braids look worse than when they started. Plus all the short hairs just come right out. I just take my braids out. I don’t keep them long enough to make washing it worth it. I guess you gotta have a certain length and hair texture.
As a TRUE 4C hair girly, this method worked perfectly! 🫶🏾 cleaned my scalp, greased it with blue magic, added alcohol free mousse, tied it down and blow dried from 5/7 min and boom back in the game. 😊

I love this. My problem is my extra sensitive skin. It's hair washing day and I can't shampoo in the shower or I'll have blisters on my skin from scratching after the shampoo and conditioner run down on me. Holding my head all the way forward creates issues with my back even when using the sink. Because of my hair type, my hair comes loose when water gets on it, and it's a long process to redo all of it, so I'll look at your braid-refreshing videos. @@ShaniqueBuntyn Over the sink now. Kneeling over the tub was too much, even with help. It's still not perfect but the best for now. I need a salon sink, that's the best for a bad back.
Do you mean that you scalp is sensitive when you scratch? If so then that’s what happens when you scratch, it’s better to use a scalp massager so you don’t develop tiny cuts on your scalp causing your hair to itch more. Btw this happens cause your scalp is extra sensitive so a scalp massager is helpful since it’s made of silicone and it’s good for your scalp 😊
@@enderless6055 I have a scalp massager and I use it. I was talking about washing my hair in the shower, the products itches my body a lot, so scratching causes blisters on my body. I no longer wash my hair in the shower. I have sensitive skin and scalp.

Hey I’m not sure if this method would work on cornrows. I plan to try it soon. If you normally don’t add anything to your scalp then I wouldn’t use any thing. You may irritate it. A lot of people use diluted apple cider vinegar to clean their scalp with a cloth. ( I personally haven’t tried that method) but there should be videos on UA-cam.
