@@HomeSimPilothi man... thanks for the video. One question. The button on your penal for the obs etc.... did you make it yourself or it came with the front panel? Thanks.
Damn dude - that power electrical map, wow. Also so glad you showed this setup vid. With 55" 4K TVs as low as 200-250 recently,. this is definitely not a pipe-dream setup anymore. This has really inspired me!
That’s crazy awesome! I’m a private pilot and I would have definitely paid to spend some time in this sort of setup during my training. Cheaper and safer to explore the limits of flight. Great job.
I can only imagine what the vibrations feel like when you power it up, lol. Very impressive and a lot of time well spent on your part. It is obvious that you love flying. Thanks for sharing.
So inspiring sir. I am borrowing so many ideas from you in a good way. The sheet to keep your treasures hidden says everything about you and how you approach problems. Effective, minimalistic and beautiful.
Is completely amazing your work!! That sheet wich gives you more privacy and better cooling systems also provides a nice way to look your cockpit, the effects for us to watch your flight is look like a real cockpit, i mean, i never thought how it is in the backstage. Nice man, wonderful work! Thank you for sharing this video!
This is very nice and helpful. I am in the process of re-building and upgrading my simulator. Rest assured that I am going to implement some of your ideas. I also think that you are doing the pilot and sim community a big favor by sharing your sim secrets. Thank you for sharing and being yourself.
A most impressive and inspirational sim. I like the way that you really think, plan and build your sim. I also like the way you checked out and manage your mains power supply. You probably have the skill and patience to build an experimental real aircraft one day!
Garrett Thorn I know exactly how you feel. I did a few months of research before actually starting. Hopefully the info im sharing can help you out even just a little 👌🏾
Your Sim is very cool ! Great watching you explain how it all goes together. Thx. I like how you figured out your power requirements. And the fact that you even bothered to. Attention to detail, great attribute.
This looks more like what I’ve been planning. This will help me a lot in my own build. Very nice! By the way, I live in San Francisco, so I appreciate that neighbor blinder. Plus we don’t have ac, so keeping doors open is important.
Nice job. It was very, very, VERY helpful and the most detailed I have seen. I especially appreciate your detailed links and explanations. You are one class act. Thanks. Now, I haven’t yet looked at your links below however, I hope you share how you built the instrument t panel. Again, thank you for your wonderful explanation. I’m looking to build one just like yours for my two 11 & 12 year old grandsons.
Your setup is beautiful and ingenious! Thanks for the tour! I'm just getting into home built flight sim and this was very helpful. Thank you! I subscribed and will be following your CAT progress! All the best. Ray
That is such great work and thinking ahead to map out your circuit breakers amperage on each outlet was incredible. Your like a Mr Scott of the Enterprise. As a renter myself I would suggest renters insurance. Fairly inexpensive for all that you have there. Thanks again for sharing.
I was hoping that we were going to go for a ride!!! was looking forward to it!! I love your set up!! and am jealous!! But never thought of the power requirements!!! I used to fly 3-4 hours a day!!, pretended deliveries all over the globe, a bunch in middle east, UK Norway, Switzerland and even Asia, where ever I could make some routes!!! Loved flying them, and flying with guys from England and surrounding countries...great bunch of guys...comp finally froze up got my left wing locked down! could land ILS and shut it off when it touched ground!! and hold R rudder!
48 to 55 in seems to be the perfect tv sizes for simulation. I'm still gonna try my 82in. :) Great video and thanks for sharing. Best home setup I've seen.
Love your system! Not now but I think you should fly around North America for hire helping people with their advanced home sim setups. 7k is worth it! People spend all kinds of cash and often more on their passion! Keep it going...I'll be following! Thanks for sharing what you do!
love the neighbor protector. can never be to safe bruh, awesome rig tho, you sould do a vid of IL2 if you ever played that, youd be set in a bomber lol
Best explanation of the computer side. I am waiting until xplane 12 comes out to start building my system. I may use a raspberry pi 4 to run air manager with two 15.6 touch screens. Thanks for the computer run down. It is great to know what others are running before I build my computer.
jimmyred Thanks a lot im glad it helped! I almost used a raspberry pi too but ended up just using the second pc I already had. Xplane 11.51 beta was released yesterday. Ill be updating my system today and testing it out. Good luck with your build!
Very cool setup man! I just saw one of the other videos for the first time and couldn't even tell what I was looking at until you pull the camera back. Really convincing from inside the cockpit view! I play X-Plane in VR casually. It doesn't have the tactile quality of real world hardware of course and needs to run at least 45fps to be tolerable but still it's pretty good. Wondering if you have tried VR X-Plane and your take on the difference. Also cool power diagram. I also did this when moving into new place.
Man, I’m in complete awe of your diligence and commitment to the point of even mapping out the power outlets in your place. Very cool and well done.
I appreciate that!
The most clever and effective cockpit I've seen ! Congrats !!!
Thanks a lot!

You sir are a Jedi Master of flight sim setups
I appreciate it! That means a lot. Cheers

I was thinking that same thing. Just bought a 55" for a computer screen replacement. Really cheap.

The main instrument panel is a board placed over a screen that makes it appear as individual gauges? That's an awesome set up :)
