    Extra tip: Use qtips to remove dust that might not come off with an air duster. This is especially true if you haven't cleaned your pc in a while as dirt tends to get stickier. You can also use isoporpil alcohol to clean non-electrical things such as the case plastics and/or tainted glass

      actually, you can use pure 100% Isopropyl alcohol on electronics to clean things like corrosion, hardened thermal paste etc. although just general maintenence like this there wouldn't be much point other than cosmetic marks on the case etc

      Now I come to help with the Office issue. My recommendation is that you do not use any free offices because that always brings problems in the future and it is better that you look for a good package or key and that's it.

      Precisely because I used a free Office, it came with malware that damaged my operating system and that's why I have already seen it in BNH Software so that the same thing doesn't happen to me again.

    • @robyngevas1761
      @robyngevas1761 5 місяців тому +3

      Yeah it's prettysimple, my main concern was making sure I was grounded properly before touching internal components. You can easily wear shoes on a solid surface, never carpet, and I always make sure to frequently touch the metal case to discharge any particles of static I might have. You never know how sensitive some of the components are, so if you want to, you can use a grounding wire attached to your wrist and touching something grounded, a wall socket, a metal rod, etc. 3:58

    I clean my every 3 months because is on top of my gaming table, which means less dust gets there and also because my pc has enough space to breath well and has a lot of vents, tho I check it monthly to see how is the dust inside. I'd say compressed air cans is still the easiest and cheapest way.

  • @mikfhan

    I read somewhere also you should at most use 20 PSI pressure for PC cleaning, otherwise you might over time loosen the capacitors and other components on the motherboard/graphics card, even if you're careful to only blow air into the heatspreader fins. I have an old graphics card that suffered exactly from this -1 capacitor :P

    • @questieee

      As a former computer tech of about 10 years who has cleaned many thousands of computers using air from a compressor (usually around 30 - 40 PSI) , I have never dealt with a computer repair that had a component loosen as a result of cleaning with air from a compressor.

    What about electro magnetic damage to HDDs and other pc components while using electric cleaners ?

    • @mysteriousboozebunny6534
      @mysteriousboozebunny6534 10 місяців тому +2

      There‘s no electro-magnetism going on here (at least not to an extent that could do any damage). Static electricity is a real problem if you use a vacuum, though. Seriously, don’t use a vacuum, it’ll kill your PC. Also, not blocking off the fans might also destroy your motherboard, because electric motors are really just generators in reverse, so when you spin them mechanically, they’ll output electricity.
      It’s good practice to keep yourself grounded while cleaning your PC.

    • @emmyghast

    I actually use a mini keyboard vacum cleaner and that eliminates the problem of blowing the dust back in your room.

    Blowing your fans wont only ruin your fans, but could potentially ruin your motherboard, spinning a fan at speed without power produces current, which travels through the wires and could potentially ruin your motherboard, thats why you want to hold your fans in place.

    • @YourPersonalGeek
      @YourPersonalGeek  Рік тому

      I mean both are problems, you don't want the extra voltage and don't want to ruin your fans but I can see all the comments once Jayztwocents made a video on the topic haha

    no one should have a mesh filter for their top fans unless those fans are intakes which in itself doesn't make sense because heat rises.

    Perfect explanation; thank you for the reality check. You have encouraged me to start cleaning mine more regularly.
    The inside of my PC is caked with dust. I can't help that I live in a dusty room and I hardly ever clean it - yeah i've lost all self respect.
    Would this work? I thought to drape something like mosquito netting over the case, speakers and the desk it all sits on (monitor sits forward and below the case) - that netting should work, right? Create sort of a outer filter to clean the air that gets pulled in? Hope you can advise - Thanks again

    Personally, i just use a clotch with a couple of sprays of alcohol window cleaner, i use that to clean coolers, rgb strips. If there is too much dust i use a soft brush to just take that off, then clean with the alcohol dabbed cloth. I only brush the motherboard, never using anything since usually it is not needed. I also remove the psu and clean the place where it goes, usualy being full of dust, then clean the cooler of the psu with the soft brush. I change the thermal paste of the cpu and clean the coolers and heatsink, change thermal paste. Then open up gpu fully apart, clean fans with brush and cloth, then brush heatsink and sometimes use compressed air cans, if the thermal pads don't break i will keep them, (hopefully they don't😅) then change gpu thermal paste, mount everything as it should be and leave it for 5-10 mins then start it up.

    • @mimii694

      I know this is 2 months old but it depends. Hair dryers generate heat and can overheat components. They also create a lot of static buildup. If you have it on the lowest setting and in short bursts it could possibly be okay, just don’t hold it close to the components

    I keep my house pretty clean so I had minimal dust build up but I hadn’t cleaned it in about 4 years. The only spot that was bad was the bottom and it was a lot. The inside was not bad but I’m sure now it’ll have extra flow. I’m only worried about that air can duster bc it sprayed alittle nitrogen at the PCU so I’m giving it time to possibly dry, it didn’t have but 1 sec on the component but just to be sure
