This cleaning/dusting is something that needs to be done several times over the life of a PC. I recommend to get a set of ESD safe brushes and use them to loosen up the dust before blowing it out of your PC with compressed air or w duster. It helps with the stubborn dust that can get stuck in filters, fans, heatsink fins, and nooks and crannies I also recommend never to go anywhere near your components with a vacuum cleaner as they can cause static damage
@@ChaivreMaurteFor most home PCs blowing out the dust a every few months is more than enough. If you have pets or live in a dusty environment you may need to clean it more often. Most people typically don’t need a major take apart clean more often than once or twice a year.

To make your case stay clean for longer, make sure your case fans are setup in a positive pressure configuration to minimize dust buildup in the case. To accomplish this, have more fans drawing air in than exhausting air, and have the intake fans covered with a filter. This way, any places that aren't covered with a filter will be blowing air out rather than sucking air (and thus dust) in. The filters will catch the dust before it has a chance to get into the case. Remove the filters and vacuum them monthly for best results.

Someone please help would be much appreciated ! 🙏
You thought a tech UA-camrs vid would actually be helpful for the inexperienced? Lol they are all useless and are very mis informative. First of all you never use compressed air and blow moisture into your PC, this can destroy your PC. yes hold fans still, again, this guy didn't say that even though it's VERY important. dont do a motor compressor either as these can build up moisture. Don't wipe with a cloth either as i believe that can build up static as well unless there's a way to ground yourself, i just dont know too much about static electricity. Now what i DO recommend is getting a blowing or sucking vacuum that is designed for PC's that don't build up moisture or static. also get some PC cleaning brushes designed not to get static in your pc when brushing if there is any dust the PC safe vacuum won't knock loose. i don't know specific brands but just type those keywords into google and I'm sure you'll find something on Amazon or something for those products. I don't know if there even is another way to clean it without risking damaging the PC! Thats all i know so far as I'm still learning myself but I'm more helpful than the UA-camrs
It's ALWAYS best to use compressed air or electric duster instead. Vacuum can generate static electricity which (in case you don't know) fries your motherboard.
I have a question. So, last night, I replaced my keyboard with my dad. We took out the rivvits, and we found out that they are plastic. Instead of using them, we decided to use tape to hold the keyboard on the plate. After putting it back together, my computer won't turn on. I felt something warm, but I don't know what it is. Whether it's the motherboard, or something else. My question is, does tape harm internal components? I'm curious. I'm letting it sit overnight, and I'm going to try to turn it on this morning. If it doesn't work, I may need to call you break I fix. Honestly, I don't think we did anything wrong, because the last time we opened it and hooked the keyboard back up, it worked just fine. And it even worked before I shut it down to replace the keyboard. If you have any answers, feel free to reply. Thank you!

@@Kevin-oj2rb Problem is with compresed air its too much type of it one its inflamable one let some white thinnk if i usee too much idk what type to use and what brand its the best for pc clean ....
@@ghostt5135 idk what that white thing may be, but it could be due to the condensation, that's why you may feel the can a little bit wet. Use the compressed air only a few secods each round, when you feel that the can is cold and wet, let it rest for a few minutes.
Isn't it supposed to be left plugged in (obviously turned off, though) in order to be grounded??
Thanks so much my temps are way better had this pc for 2 years never cleaned also i think it helped my FPS a little
It can actually help with your fps, as the dust can make your pc heat up more, and can thermally limit your system.
@@micahcantu5905 thanks yo
@@micahcantu5905 If you don't mind, if I removed the gpu to clean the fans properly is there a chance that my rig won't recognize my gpu? Or will bios settings be changedV
@@mcmovinup4991 I am not the most versed in building pcs, but I think you should be fine. I am pretty sure that the bios will not be changed. If you have any problems you could always look it up, with reddit usually having a lot of answers to pc related problems. I wish you the best of luck.
0:19 what was living in your pc and did you call the exterminator?
Its like those pictures of dead rats in cases
I have a similar pc as that but my I buy power logo won’t light up in the front bottom any suggestions??
But what if you cant get the dust out of the power supply area by just blowing it with a can of air? And how do you clean the platform looking thing in the pc?
Is it bad to leave that front panel off? I have the element MR and the airflow is bad bc of the glass in front
how many times should i clean my pc in a year? like weekly or monthly?
@@nazneennessa6107 wtf
If you completely unplug the Computer, then touching the case of the computer isn't going to ground the shock is it? Wouldn't you have to use a grounding mat?
I would also like to clean the fan of my cpu is it safe to use a vaccuum? And my front 3 fans of my case arent spinning. Is there an easy fix for it? Couldnt find an answer on the internet.
Wait...
So, it's OKAY to use a vacuum *as long as you're touching the case?*
@@Dustycat oh okay, thanks.
...just realized I got cleaning advice from someone that goes by "Dustycat", lol!
@@Dustycat less risky to use a data vac :P you don't have to touch said part for the static to arc
Can I plug the pc with the power plug while power is off to remove any static build-up instead of putting one hand on the pc?
I didn't have the paddles or little hooks. I'm so confused and my filter for my front fans came loose while trying to figure it out. I need help :(
I just recently bought a used pc setup, and im planing to flip it, but almost all components smell off, so how should i clean them
i really need help on taking off the front panel or the trace MR case please
Am I not supposed to touch and dust off the motherboard? and any other sensitive components?
can you say more things about that static things?
how do u prevent the cold water from coming out the compressed can that why i dont use them
Try using it in shorter intervals. The liquid can come out if you spray for too long at a time.
I really want to clean my PC and I'm not clumsy by any means but I always like to be careful I don't break anything. Also thanks for the video, it is very informative and detailed :)
We’ve all sinned guys. We’ve lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain, and more. We now need to repent and trust that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross. This is very urgent tomorrow isn’t promised. Our works can’t save us but Jesus can!
@@BrodyStag what the hell has this got to do with my comment 😂
Can you make a video on howbto unclog your aio pumps
I have a pre built hp omen 25L gaming pc and I'm afraid to disassemble any other parts than the glass sidepanel because i don't know too much about pcs.
Is it safe to just take off the side and clean everything as much as I can with a dry fiber cloth and compressed air? Also do I need to hold the fans still so they don't move when blowing on it?
How do i open the front panel for the slatemr 281a?
I have my tower on the floor and damn, this video really helped me. I thought I couldn't vacuum the pc but it seems its safe if it's done carfeully
It's ALWAYS best to use compressed air or electric duster instead. Vacuum can generate static electricity which (in case you don't know) fries your motherboard.
Oh - and how about spraying the inside of the PC with endust or some other type dust repellant?
so with the compressed air, i just, point and shoot?
That is one satisfying intro, my friend.
Thank you!
keyboard??? do mean lean the motherboard ot something
if it wasnt eletrical tape then yea
I don't have any of these hooks or anything on my dust filter and it's really dirt I need to clean it
Is there a better tool than compressed air can or vacuum? Something that I can get that doesn't finish or cost as much as a vacuum?
what if I use a blower? like the air duster I am planing to buy does vaccum and blow
That’s what I did.
How do u take of the front panel 😊
can I use balloon pump? I don't have compresed air
would it be smarter to use a electric duster from amazon or air can. im so nervous to mess something up or get shocked somehow ive never owned a pc until a month ago
I need new case i try to clean my aircool ds200 with some cleanig prodacts but the dust is like glow to the outside of the case plastic material and o can clean it now is like sticky any good prodact i can use so i grt rid of that ????
I have you pc slateMr it has 8gb of ram and 1060 rtx with 7.9 memory how or which componets to upgrade with
Could you use and air compressor like for pumping up tires
Be really careful about using an air compressor. If the PSI is too high, you can physically break your hardware.
Ye I believe you can actually wrip off capacitors if it's too high a low psi is fine just like compressed air is fine
About the power supply, can i use a vacum for that?
Not recommended just blast it with compressed air.
Noooo
thank you guys for let me enjoy gaming by using your PCs since 2007, yes i paid for it but it not hurt that is always send me happy birthday every year :P
Does somebody know can i use a air blower for the.power supply
I have a dust screen in the front of my case. It’s almost like a toaster slot. But I can’t pull the screen out. And I can’t get in to clean it. How do I access it? Even when the case is open I can’t reach it because it’s in between the fans and the front glass of the case. And the front glass is unmovable.
@iBUYPOWER i tried using air duster. however, the can get cold and sometimes it blows-off cold moisture to the target area where im cleaning. is it safe?
i have these two circle hooks on the inside of my case . what am i supposed to do to take off the front of the pc with those
I’ve see multiple times that you shouldent use compressed air to clean your PC and it will makes the fans spin and especially the power supply fan spin which will generated power and fry your system
Just a quick question, how often should we be cleaning out PCs? Is this something where we need to inspect it before we make a decision, or should this be done monthly, weekly, yearly, etc?
depends on how dusty your house is, in my case (being on a dirt road) I have to clean it like twice a month, but if your house generally doesn't have that much dust you can do it less often
can you use a airbrush instead of the aair
Can a artistic brush work aswell?
I dont feel comfortable cleaning my pc alone because I'm still pretty new at this stuff and cleaning electronic stuff isnt my strongsuit. where do i go to get my pc cleaned? and how much will it cost depending on how dirty it is?
Doesn’t compressed air just blow the dust around which doesn’t really accomplish anything?
