The Bentley logo isn't symmetrical. The right side has one 'wing' more than the left side. It was to confirm it was a real Bentley.
I wonder how many fake Bentley's roamed the streets back then..

I bet a lot of people will carefully look at the Bentley logo after seeing this comment
While the “H” in Hyundai's company logo does stand for the company's name, it's also a stylized picture, a silhouette of two individuals shaking hands. Which represents the management and workers. When you see the logo embossed in silver on a vehicle's grill, the colour stands for its sophistication, creativity and perfection.
I wonder how Mat missed that.

Alfa is the BEST, it's a f***ing snake eating a man 😂😂😂😂😂
I've always thought it was a dragon with flames coming out of its mouth
its not eating the man, it represents crusaders that fought in wars and it's a man coming OUT OF the snake.
Well if he told the real history behind the alfa romeo logo the video would be at least 2 times longer. And the snake is not eating the man, the man is coming out of it.
Kimi : Bwoah, it is what it is.
should be a snake eating a wallet 😂😂
The Volvo paradox: looks like the male symbol, sounds like “vulva”
It has one cool feature more. If you follow the line of Volvo badge, then it will guide you to the bonnet catch. So you will never have to hunt for it furiously to open a bonnet. Just follow the line.
The line in the Volvo logo was originally there to hold the iron sign in place on the grill but has since then become a natural part of the logo.
Yes like MERDECES-BENZ
…
Fact: Volvo's logo represents steel, because of Norse mythology. As a result, their headlamps are also shaped like inverted Ts, representing Thor's hammer in motion.
Mr. Lamborghini is turning in his grave, “Ferruk me?! Hwat zis worde mean, Ferruk?! Ferruk you too!”.
Volvo actually means” Jag rullar” On Swedish. That means “I’m rolling” on English. If you translate it from Latin to Sweden it would be “jag rullar”
Jag rullar more like Jaguar?

Carwow Intro: "Domino EFFECT"
Matt: "It does matter when the CAR's price point was affordable"
I’ve always wondered if there’s a specific reason why Chevy chose the bow tie logo. I remember learning that Cadillac is named after a Frenchman who founded the city of Detroit, Michigan. I assume the logo (particular the old one) represents his family crest.

Hey, you made a mistake for Peugeot's logo. In fact, the lion represents the symbol of the region where Peugeot was born. The " Franche-Comté" . Sochaux is in that region.
@Do One BMW logo really has nothing to do with propellers, wings or aircraft.
The first BMW badge, was registered in the German Imperial Register of Trademarks, it retained the round shape of the old Rapp logo. The outer ring of the symbol was now bounded by two gold lines and bore the letters BMW.
The company’s home state of Bavaria was also to be represented on the company logo. The quarters of the inner circle on the BMW badge display the state colours of the State of Bavaria - white and blue. But they are in the inverse order (at least as far as heraldic rules are concerned, where you read clockwise from the top left). The reason for this inverse order of blue and white in the BMW logo was the local trademark law at the time, which forbade the use of state coats of arms or other symbols of sovereignty on commercial logos.

Mat: So what exactly happened
Bentley has a different number of feathers on each side of its logo. People used to copy their logo and didn't count the number of feathers so they would then be spotted as a forgery.
This was ridiculously informative. Good one Matt!

When you look at the Genesis grill and lights, it's supposed to match the logo. The lights are the wings and the grill is the shield.

2 of the wierdest / coolest logos:
Armstrong Siddeley: A Sphinx. Some early ones are a full 3D model, like Jag's Leaper
Gordon Keeble: A tortoise. Probably an ironic reference to their speed.

Definitely missed Skoda logo, was looking forward to that one!
Me too.Also expected Vette's logo
The arrow of Škoda logo is a symbol of speed and targeted activity, the wings of progress. The hole in the wing symbolizes the eye, which refers to the accuracy of production. The laurels symbolized the strength, cleverness, victory and centuries of experience of the company. Green means uniqueness, because other companies do not use this color much. The circle then signifies unity and harmony.
GP characteristics none of which the cars possess.

Another great video. Thanks Matthew.
Since I am a swed I have to bring up some interesting things about our car brands.
Volvo actually stands for “to roll around” in Ancient Greek and “to roll” in Old English.
Koenigsegg does also have a family shield and a ghost to commemorate the Saab Vigen fighter jet in the Swedish Air Force.
Saab have a griffin on their logo that is linkt to it’s fighter jet brother. The griffin has been lent to Scania which also have the peculiar name which in Latin translates to the region of the south most part of the country, Skåne.
Hope I got the facts straight!

Some model names just do not transcend borders. For example, in Australia the VW "Trendline" sounds more like a type of curtain while the "Comforttline" sounds more like a mattress range. The Skoda "Superb" sounds like you are up yourself. There are many others too. Maybe why BMW sticks to numbers.
Jeep used to have a logo that used a simplified rendition of the grill and headlights and the leading edge of the bonnet that looked like the capital of an ionic column. I really liked that one a lot.

0:54 Wrong! Miura wasn't a bull name. It has the name of the ranchers who owned those bulls. (Eduardo & Antonio Miura)
Fun Fact, both Horch & Audi were founded by August Horch. He founded Horch first then after being eased out by the Board of Directors he founded Audi (the Latin for Horch) as a direct rival
5:55 when you’re talking about Audi and said “Back in 1930 there were loads of different car companies in Germany, and it was habitual to get yourself noticed”, it was ironic because “Audi” directly translates to “Listen” in Latin
Issam Nasr and horch is listen in German

Hi matt, great channel. You missed off the bemtley logo it doesnt have the same number of feathers on each side, it has 10 feathers on the left and 11 on the right.
The name audi actually comes from the guy who founded the company, his name was August Horch. horch is another word for hör (hear) and the Imperative of hören (hearing) in latin is audi. Btw before you ask, horch/hör is an Imperative too, like hear is the Imperative of hearing

@Matt Watson, TOYOTA Symbol actually Symbolises "Thread & Needle". They started as a Loom Manufacturing Company & still makes good Textile Sewing Machine's that are impressive.
Matt, on AUDI you are correct concerning the rings of Auto Union but you missed one thing about the name Audi: August Horch, the founder of Horch Car Company had to choose another name for the new company. If you look at the german name Horch, it could also be interpreted as the german "horch" verb for the imperative form "listen (to me)" or "hear!". He just translated that verb into latin (audire = to hear). So the imperative form is "audi". So in brief, he translated his name into latin language
He probably didn't mention it because the topic of the video was not the meaning of car brand names, but of car brand logos.
