is there a reason, why you heat treat before pre grinding the bevels ? i find, that it saves a lot of belts, if you roughgrind them while the steel is soft
I was going to ask that too. It doesn´t make too much sense to work on a previously hardened piece...until I realized the amount of grinding is minimal. With that jet cutter machine there is very little material to remove....anyway what do I know? I´m just a metallurgist.
I am a beginner knife maker...this is a bit outside my personal comfort zone (for now anyways) but that is a beautiful blade. Gives me hope that with practice...one day I will be able to make the quality knives shown on your videos. Keep keeping on 💯

Definitely the best way to cut out a knife. I have a friend with a plasma cutter but I hate asking. I love big knifes. I’ve made a few out of scrap but I hate all the grinding. It leaves steel dust everywhere. I’ll just watch you. Your are so much better anyway. What a gorgeous knife.
No, it's not our, but we can use it :) This one is unavailable, but all currently available knives are listed on our website: www.barbershop-customs.com
I've seen hundred of videos like this, people making so many different kinda blades and this gotta be at the top five. Such beautiful design and the end result was just badass.
where did the tiger stripes on the blade come from? Just left over marks from the water jet? They look super cool but I can't tell how they got there. . .
Nice Knife, Great Job making it. The Maple Handles are a really nice addition Reminds me in a way of those huge paper cutters that were in schools when we were children.
Very beautiful knife my friend. After the sharpening you use a paste to give a shiny aspect to the handle. What is that paste. Could you ask what is the brand?

I love the way you make video one just simple video every thing you did is in not like that teenager who make a needle in 17 parts every part have 25 min
Thanks :) It takes enough time to make it 17 parts out of it, especially with talking, but we find it more entertaining to keep it short :) I'm glad you think the same
Great work as always mate! I really like your design as well as the editing of the video. I see that you are using Sharpal diamond stone, am I right? You recommend this stone? Thanks
@@BarbershopCustoms Ho, ok, so you're afraid of a virus that has close to zero chance of killing you, but not of wood and metal dust that will give you a nice cancer over time. Logic...

is there a reason, why you heat treat before pre grinding the bevels ? i find, that it saves a lot of belts, if you roughgrind them while the steel is soft
The reason is you only do the job once, I don't care about belts, they last long enough :)
