  • Is the Altra Escalante 2.0 a daily trainer or a speed day shoe? I'll address that and other questions in the review of this great running shoe, as well as give you my impression after putting some miles on them. In the end, Altra delivers a great road running shoe again. If you haven't run in an Altra shoe before, such as the Escalante, I do recommend adjusting to it. BUT, I am confident that if you have never run in an Altra shoe, you will love them.
    The Altra Escalante 2.0 is currently on sale, so be sure to pick up this shoe fast so you can start running in it! Link below.

      Definitely solid shoes. I think I am going to pick up the Torin Plush for a daily trainer. Thanks for watching Kofuzi. Love your channel!

    Great video mate. I've been having some minor issues around blisters with runners I buy and this video got me thinking about the spacious toe area and even stack height. Will look around my area for the Altra you show or something similar :)

    I've been lowering the drop of my shoes for a couple of years now. I'm comfortable in shoes with a 3, 4 or 5 mm drop now. Intrigued by Altra at this point. Do you think the Escalante would be the best intro to Altra? Thanks for the review - I know how much work goes into these videos as I'm also a running UA-camr. Keep posting, I just subscribed!

      Thanks for the comment and question DevRunner! I would say your choice of Altra shoes comes down to a few things. First, do you generally prefer a more responsive shoe for daily training? Second, do you generally run on the faster end of the spectrum (I'd say 9/min mile or quicker)? If you answered yes to either of these, I'd say the Escalante is a great introduction to Altra. If you prefer a more cushioned daily trainer, I'd say look at either the Torin or Torin Plush. I hope that helps. Thanks for the subscribe!

      @@benlee526 I train in the 6 to 7 minute/mile range, but with a lot of miles per week, so plush is my friend! Sounds like the Torin may be a better option. I'm really enjoying the Saucony Endorphins because they are so plush yet responsive (I posted my review last week), but I want to save them for races! Thanks for the response man - I cant wait to see more from you!

      @@DevRunner Yeah, Torin seems like a great option for you with high mileage. Either option is great, but the Plush version has just a bit more cushion for long miles. Enjoy!

    Does this fit true to size? I wear a 10 normally in other shoes.

    I've got the escalante 1.5. Love those shoes. Thinking of getting the 2's. But I know they're firmer and more structured on that version. Is it too snug as to where you would recommend going up a half size? Or do they fit true to size? I don't have narrow feet, or wide feet. Great review by the way!

      Hi BrenGS - Thanks for the comment. My foot is about a 9.5 and I always buy 11s in running shoes (feet swell during long runs). So, depending on what size you typically buy I would keep that in mind. I find them to be true to size compared to other shoes I have owned. I would definitely pickup a pair as the 2.0s are on sale and going quick. They can be found online for as little as $55 (depending on size). Happy running!

      @@runslowtorunfast6528 thanks! I appreciate it. I wear a 10.5. But in some shoes I wear 11. Good to know. I'll more than likely get size 11. Looking forward to trying them out.

    Is the number same as Torin? I have torin 3.5 and now I’m looking to Escalante 2, just want be sure that buy same size will be ok

      Hi Christian - Thanks for the comment and following. The numbers after the model (2.0, 3.5) refer to the version or iteration of the shoe. The sizing should be the same. Remember with running shoes to size up a bit to make sure to leave room for when your foot swells. My foot is a size 9.5 US and I buy size 11.

      @@runslowtorunfast6528 wait you sized up 1.5 sizes for Altra?
      Should I do the same or would a half size up work?

    • @runslowtorunfast6528
      @runslowtorunfast6528  3 роки тому

      @@LastGateFitness Hi Edward - No, I am not sizing up 1.5 from other shoe brands to Altra. I am sizing up from my actual foot size. Most runners do this to give room for their toes and feet as they swell after logging long miles. My foot measures a 9.5, but I buy running shoes in size 11. I buy Altras in the same size I do any other shoe. I hope that makes sense and is helpful!

    how did you find the shoe in terms of sizing compared to the torin?

    • @runslowtorunfast6528
      @runslowtorunfast6528  4 роки тому +2

      For me, the sizing is identical. Lots of room in forefoot and toebox, but not so much that it's sloppy. Same amount of space between toes and front of the shoe also. The Torin may seem roomier just because there is more padding and cushion inside the shoe.
