As an Indian, looking at video and other comments, it's amazing to see that how we asian's are having very similar behaviour despite having so many differences in culture and religions.
Well some behaviour are similar because of living environment and system. Like avoiding Outside Dirt part, which is usually practiced in Asian region because it's normally quite Dusty & Muddy outside condition in Asia, plus a lot of germ issues. Applies also on why Asian cover Remote in plastic or don't peel plastic from appliances (the dust in air scratches the surface quite quickly, making even new products look dull and old within weeks of purchase). We also don't much believe in Dishwasher because generally Asian food are more oily than American food (not Butter oily, but other Oils oily), which is usually hard for most dishwasher to clean (that's why some companies are making exclusive system for Asian usage). As for the Bamboo one, i don't think there is any superstition regarding it in India (though i might be wrong). Similarly, Indians are not crazy for Soy Sauce. Difference in Dinner timing is probably because Sunset is usually early in America (because of colder climate) compared to Asia countries. Plus, Asian don't usually indulge in midnight snacks that much (if i am right), unless it's a Student who is focused on studying late into the night.
These are superficial differences, they don't really have fundamental cultural differences. Liking tacos and curry doesn't make you tolerant or diverse.
As a Singaporean, I noticed that a lot these practices/habits are equally shared between all of the Asians races. Doesn't matter what race you are, most of things that we do stem from respect. Respect of the stuffs u have at home, respect of the food we have and respect for the people around u etc. Most of us didn't grow up with money so it was ingrained in us to be thankful n mindful of things we have. The last vid ,Logesh actually said McDonald were a luxury item back home. It might not be the case now but when I was growing up, kids actually dream of eating fast food. Back in the 80s n 90s, eating McD were bragging rights.
@Helmi Muhammad ... very true indeed... growing up in the 80s, eating fast food was a luxury .... I've got a taste of KFC and McD when I was 16 after saving up enough of my pocket money....
True, not just Mc Donald, KFC, A&W, Starbucks, etc. All fast food were expensive. I even had burger during college time and KFC's fried chicken when my friend treated me. I had Delifrance at Sogo in 1994, a year after working as a teacher. Yes, those western foods are luxury in the 90's. Luckily I am not a fan of fast foodd because local foods are much tastier and healthier to my palate.

This is actually awesome and I think it’s good to have knowledge before entering into interracial relationship so that you work those out & know what expect there will be differences and try to match each other and adapt so that the relationship can work well
Food packs or containers must be put at a higher place n not on the floor in general, especially not beside footwears!!! Because they are foods. We eat foods. We honour the foods we eat. Thus it is put on an elevated place befitting its honour.
If there's no high place and I HAD to put it on the floor, I will shove the food further away on the ground so it'll at least farther from the shoes or my butt.
Im South African and my wife is Singaporean, she just shared this video with my and I could not stop laughing while rolling on the floor, this is exactly how whole life has been, worse of all she would probably hit me over the head for rolling on the floor 🤣🤣🤣 LOVE this video please do keep sharing!!
Kicap Kipas Udang is a MUST HAVE grocery item especially for Malaysians in our kitchen! Nothing can beat the taste of this soy sauce. It's an all time favourite 'kicap'. 😆👍🙌
The thing with wrapping the remote control and keeping plastic wrap on applinces like forever and also treating food carefully even if it's in a container or a plate are also common things in North African countries. It's amazing to find out about these similarities. Thanks for sharing 💕💕
As an American’s and Latino’s my husband and I have a weird mix of these two cultural things. The food on the floor was right on target. We don’t even put our purses on the floor. Bad luck, you will lose your money 😂
Do you collect plastic bags & keep them under the sink? In Singapore we use it to line the trash cans at home, or as a carrier when we tah pau leftover makan from someone’s house after a party, use it to pack the kids toys, slippers & wet clothes when we head to the beach. Hope to see you guys visit Singapore soon!
My wife just found your channel - hilarious! 😂😂 We’re also an interracial married couple - I’m Filipino and she’s American. We totally get it! BTW, we’re in the San Ramon area!! 😊
I am from India and everything except the Soy sauce is relatable to me personally. Soy sauce may be because of vast cultural differences that exist even within the country. I was really surprised to see everyday nuances shown.
I am a Singaporean living in America and married to an American. I so agree with most of it. Not sure about the cling wrap thing though cause I've never had them wrap up even when I'm living with my parents. But the rest I had to agree... It took me 6 years before I relax on shoes in house but even then it's a no no in my bedroom but sometimes even that happens and I have to take a deep breath and calm myself over it. Not helping when I'm OCD as well lol...
My dad and his 8 siblings once held a family days for all of us, not just 9 of them. Nooooo.. They invites sibling for their in-law, siblings for in-law parents because they want to celebrate their mothers 70th birthday along with her 11 other siblings. I was receptionists at the time and my god, I never knew i had chinese and indians aunts and uncles as well. We held the grand family day at one of the wedding hall at Muar that can fit around 500+ in one sitting and its could not fit all of the guests since we all also invite our close friends as well. We also get a small books that tell the history of all my grandparents, its like encyclopedia for our family. Overall, its fun knowing that my families stay connected with all of our distants relatives all those years. It make me realize that although some of them are different races, religions and colour, we can still be one big family unless you're rasict of course.
I have family that would be SHOCKED and unhappy to find anything but white European relatives. Funny thing is. A long history in this country often guarantees mixed races. Lol. I
The soy sauce thing is smth I’m kinda guilty of lol. I have 7-8 different brands with different viscosity. Dark, light, Japanese, Malaysian, Indo ones. Swest and spicy ones. Those are opened ones and still have more unopened ones in the pantry
Well, different kinds and brands of soy sauce have different tastes, so you aren't at fault, I think. I don't use soy sauce that much, but I still have 4 bottles of soy sauce from different brands for different foods lol.
🤣🤣🤣 So this Asían ways are very much like Latín American ways, only that most people in Latín America might or might not wear their shoes at home, and seldom ask others to take them off (you don't want to make them feel uncomfortable- you just clean again after they leave). We are very loud. We yell over the phone, but normally walk away to use it. Wrapping appliances in plastic is rare, but some do it. Nice vid. And beautiful marriage. Now, the bidet thing most of us find dreadful 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Interesting. As a European (I'm Hungarian) I feel like we are somewhere in the middle, not only geographically but also culturally. Really cute video, btw.
It's amazing how all the parts of Asia follows this kind of things even though there are many different cultures and religions. No one ever told us to follow them and yet we asians follow them 😌
Love this video so much, washing of the rice, the no shoe inside the house and detail plate cleaning thing is so true, i couldnt use a plate even if there is still a smell of soap on it or some leftover oil. The rest i think is acceptable diff.
My Dad's Fijian/Indian, so we definitely learned how to rinse rice in our family! Also, Cooking for 1000 people no matter what and washing all the dishes completely before putting them in the dishwasher 😂😂😂!!!
You are showing differences between American and Asian culture. But what surprises me are the similarities between Asian countries. Though located so much apart with various religions, there are unifying thoughts and cultures across Asia
My family used to wrap remote as well, there's quite a few reasons to it actually: 1. for us, TVs are expensive electronics and remotes are kinda non replaceable. So we want to ensure the remote last as long as possible. Wouldn't want to buy a new TV just because the remote broke. Maybe electronics in the US is cheap? 2. kinda related to the first point, we also want to ensure the lettering on those rubber buttons to last as long as possible. 3. hygiene, you know how oils and grease from our fingers, sweats and dead skin cells, no to mention dusts tends to get under and around those buttons. ewww! You can always replace the wrapper with a new one but not the remote right?
I'm British and married to a Malaysian. I can relate to some of these. Not phone etiquette though... he answers loudly, but I always prefer quiet calls in a different room. I do laugh when I see the plastic cover still on our car satnav screen, but it does help the resale value I suppose 😁.
im an asian woman and i can relate to logesh 😁 the wife looks amazing. here rachel stuns me for being an american with red hair. thats cool and new to me. hope you guys having endless happiness!
Oh men... so fun to watch!! I'm portuguese, but my great grandmother was japanese, and we do a lot of those things!!! ahahah The shoes, washing rice, plastic wrap, hand washing, sliper for hanging in the house :D !!! Great and sweet couple
ah ha ha ha ha... My family do not get our remote control wrapped up hahaha; but we DO keep the wrappers that already came with the appliance as long as possible 🤣 The slippers and the soy sauce thing is on point... but we are trying to limit our obsession of soy sauce at the moment hahaha... (Off topic tip: When you have your planters ready, do remember to keep your washed rice water overnight and then use them as "fertilizer water" the next day. That will save you tons of fertilizer expenses and your plants will be happy - especially teaming up with natural sun)
Wow. What a good tip. I usually water my plant using the washed rice water as quickly as possible. I even used it to washed fish before rinsing it with clean water.
Asians used the washed water of rice grains to rinse our faces, hands, n necks. Excellent for skin as well. If Kumaar family uses the water like i do, there will be no water left to water the plants anymore. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am an European woman married to an Arabic man, and I can relate to a lot of things haha. Specially the rice. I thought I made the best rice, until I married my husband. The poor man ate it. Hahaha
Hahahaha…. I’m Malaysian Chinese and my husband is French. We have so many cultural differences as well. We Asians practice similar lifestyles and believes wherever we are. My husband calls me OCD lol…. I call it being clean, neat and tidy 😂😂😂
Totally agree with many of them. My husband is obsessed with plastic and dishes. Our microwave is more than 10yrs old and still has the plastic on the digital screen!
Thks Logesh n Rachel. So funny n I can relate to all of them especially about having to wrap the remote control 🤣. I do it so that I can sanitize it properly without fear of damaging it. I still hv plastic wrappers on my mattress as well... its been 7 yrs n it still looks brand new 🤣
The bamboo buloh at home. Hmmm. I dont know that is a taboo plant at Asian homes. I only thought that it invites snakes to come. However, if you plant flower plants, when the flower blooms at full moon, the jinns n pontianak banshee will come to smell off the fragrance from the flowers while gossipping.
My family is Eastern European and Middle Eastern. We practice the same as the Asians. I married an American and his habits drive me crazy (shoes in house🙇🏻♀️), food hygiene and not rinsing rice puts me over the edge😱😵💫! Thank you for making me feel sane🤗
I don't know if today's young guns know about this but back in the old days, many Malaysians believe that snakes like to hide themselves among bamboo plants, which is ironic because according to traditional Malay lore, bamboos are snakes' greatest weakness 😂
I'm from the north of Peninsula Malaysia, and that's true. Snakes like to be at the base of bamboos, lemongrass, bushes, and dry leaves. And if you need to kill snakes, we do use bamboo sticks. Better yet if one end is sharp.
So interesting.I lived in this country for 46 years.I went through every bit of it.There is a lot to learn from our children if we are open minded and give them some freedom.
I am not sure if people remember but it was not unusual to find cars in Malaysia in 70's/80s completely covered with plastic sheets where the upholstery is. That's the first thing that was done, remove the plastic that came covered with the car, go to a shop and put new plastic covers in. I still find it rediculous that some westerners and also Asians think there is nothing wrong with using the same shoes indoors and outdoors..especially when things are carpetted.
Watching this as a Russian and understanding that 90% of this pretty much applies to me too. Lol, it means that culturally Russians and Asians have a lot in common.

I think Indians are not crazy baout soy sauce...
Not only on remotes and cars also on refrigerators, chairs and sometimes even on suitcases/ travel bags ... we Indians are a class apart!!! 😂
@@bhunag9383 cars aren't assets, they will depreciate in value even with your little sticker
Food is something we respect!
True even they are inside food container. Never ever put them on the floor.
I'm asian, so i have to agree 😄😄
Correct bro. Culture is more or less similar
If there's no high place and I HAD to put it on the floor, I will shove the food further away on the ground so it'll at least farther from the shoes or my butt.
Im South African and my wife is Singaporean, she just shared this video with my and I could not stop laughing while rolling on the floor, this is exactly how whole life has been, worse of all she would probably hit me over the head for rolling on the floor 🤣🤣🤣
LOVE this video please do keep sharing!!
Love how you embrace and enjoy each other's culture
Kicap Kipas Udang is a MUST HAVE grocery item especially for Malaysians in our kitchen! Nothing can beat the taste of this soy sauce. It's an all time favourite 'kicap'. 😆👍🙌
Aku suka mudim.
Tamin laaaaaa
This is good. Make more guidelines vids like this. It helps people who are going through mixed marriage to understand and tolerate each other.
I didn't know asian countries are so similar...loved watching your video...luv you guys.🤩🤩
The thing with wrapping the remote control and keeping plastic wrap on applinces like forever and also treating food carefully even if it's in a container or a plate are also common things in North African countries. It's amazing to find out about these similarities. Thanks for sharing 💕💕
As an Iranian living in Canada I can identify with all the Asian vs American cultural differences in this video lol.
As an American’s and Latino’s my husband and I have a weird mix of these two cultural things. The food on the floor was right on target.
We don’t even put our purses on the floor. Bad luck, you will lose your money 😂
Same thought with Indias as well
Loool I’m African and the purse on the floor is right on we don’t play that! Ull lose your money they say😂
I'm mexican raised in Mexico and my thai exwife raised in Thailand. We had so much in common. The best 6 years of my life.
You got divorsed after your best 6 years?

Do you collect plastic bags & keep them under the sink? In Singapore we use it to line the trash cans at home, or as a carrier when we tah pau leftover makan from someone’s house after a party, use it to pack the kids toys, slippers & wet clothes when we head to the beach. Hope to see you guys visit Singapore soon!
As indians ,we do it too..🤪
Cheap American here. Why buy bags for trash or carrying things when you have free ones from the store?
I'm italian and we collect them too!

My wife just found your channel - hilarious! 😂😂 We’re also an interracial married couple - I’m Filipino and she’s American. We totally get it! BTW, we’re in the San Ramon area!! 😊
Also, props to the humor and the excellent acting.
I agree on the humor but acting needs improvement! 😆
I am from India and everything except the Soy sauce is relatable to me personally. Soy sauce may be because of vast cultural differences that exist even within the country. I was really surprised to see everyday nuances shown.
Same. No soy sauce for us. But yes. The rest
The soy sauce is kind of East Asian and Southeast Asian things
I am a Singaporean living in America and married to an American. I so agree with most of it. Not sure about the cling wrap thing though cause I've never had them wrap up even when I'm living with my parents. But the rest I had to agree... It took me 6 years before I relax on shoes in house but even then it's a no no in my bedroom but sometimes even that happens and I have to take a deep breath and calm myself over it. Not helping when I'm OCD as well lol...
Lol....the differences makes both even cuter and sweeter. Love the bloopers part...
Silaturrahim
I have family that would be SHOCKED and unhappy to find anything but white European relatives.
Funny thing is. A long history in this country often guarantees mixed races. Lol.
I
Wow! You did it again. Love how such two opposite cultures adapt so well to each other. You are great actors too. Laughed through the whole video.
We, Africans can relate to the Asian side
I'm African, I disagree. I won't waste my time wrapping the remote controller :)
My thoughts exactly!
1:41 "Oi" that word always using srilankans when husbund and wife live together 😂
As a Bruneian, I can relate to everything except the wrapping remote one 😂
Wrapped things is quite common in Indonesia too, just because we're lazy to rip the plastic off and to keep it clean all the time
As an Indian I can totally relate to that
In Philippines ,they dont wrap but they dont remove the wrapper when they bought it ,they just let it on until it eventually rips out
It's very common here in india...we don't remove plastic wrap because it will become dirty🙃
@iknownothingman Banar 😂 not to mention bau Durian & Bawang Bawangan (Onion & Garlic) & Sambal in the kitchen.
That wrapping up the remote got me in stitches!
I'm from Poland and I have the same impression
Same here in Lithuania.
Same, Croatia here. That probably why we well adapt anywhere we go.
In Germany we also take our shoes off, especially in winter to stop snow slush getting into the house.
Yeah, that's why I'm so grateful they wrote "Americans" instead of Western or white, like these comparisons (esp. coming from Americans) usually do.
Logesh you make me laugh all the way. Its so true. You are indeed a true Malaysian. 👌
My family used to wrap remote as well, there's quite a few reasons to it actually:
1. for us, TVs are expensive electronics and remotes are kinda non replaceable.
I supposed nowadays, we can buy a replacement remote. I usually use one remote for every air cond or ceiling fans especially in hotels or chalets.
Well for us mostly so that the batteries wont be missing...you know kids with remote...i dont y they like to play with batteries...
now, the smartphone can handle the remote control... i just clik the apps remote control to handle all different electronics devices k..
Iam Asian and using the same remote for last 5years😅
4. Safety issue(s). No harm of swallowing tv remote's buttons among children by biting/teething nor loose buttons. July2022🇲🇾
I'm British and married to a Malaysian. I can relate to some of these. Not phone etiquette though... he answers loudly, but I always prefer quiet calls in a different room. I do laugh when I see the plastic cover still on our car satnav screen, but it does help the resale value I suppose 😁.
😂😂😂
I think it’s more like a habit than cultural differences
im an asian woman and i can relate to logesh 😁 the wife looks amazing. here rachel stuns me for being an american with red hair. thats cool and new to me. hope you guys having endless happiness!
Oh men... so fun to watch!! I'm portuguese, but my great grandmother was japanese, and we do a lot of those things!!! ahahah The shoes, washing rice, plastic wrap, hand washing, sliper for hanging in the house :D !!! Great and sweet couple
When I saw the wife just pour water first into the cooker, then the rice directly into the cooker, I was actually SHOOK
As a Singaporean, I can totally relate!! Especially the no shoes in the house rule - urge to pull her out of the house to remove the shoes first!

Hope you guys celebrate your differences and learn from each other and not get frustrated for trivial matters 😊
ah ha ha ha ha... My family do not get our remote control wrapped up hahaha; but we DO keep the wrappers that already came with the appliance as long as possible 🤣
The slippers and the soy sauce thing is on point... but we are trying to limit our obsession of soy sauce at the moment hahaha...
(Off topic tip: When you have your planters ready, do remember to keep your washed rice water overnight and then use them as "fertilizer water" the next day. That will save you tons of fertilizer expenses and your plants will be happy - especially teaming up with natural sun)
No.2) That exactly what my mum do. That's why her plants always look healthy.
Wow. What a good tip. I usually water my plant using the washed rice water as quickly as possible. I even used it to washed fish before rinsing it with clean water.
@@fatimahmatzain9337 Me too..
Asians used the washed water of rice grains to rinse our faces, hands, n necks. Excellent for skin as well. If Kumaar family uses the water like i do, there will be no water left to water the plants anymore. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@fatimahmatzain9337 Try adding some belacan in that rice water and let them stay overnight. Now it works double wonder lol

04:45 There are thousands of wars going on in India daily regarding cleaning vessels.
As an Indian, i can totally relate myself to all the Asian things especially that remote wrapping, rice washing and dish washing 😂....

As an Iranian, it’s so relatable 😂
Oh wow Tara is a Hindu name... cultural similarities on different lvl hehe
6:50 well in India its more about respecting the food...so we never keep it near shoes or anything like that.
Shoes off in the house is compulsory for us Asians. We change to indoor slippers optionally or to just bare feet.
So much tolerance and understanding needed for couples with different culture 🥺 I wonder how do you both celebrate things after each argument?
As an Indian, I can only say yes.
I especially like the emergence of his Asianaccent every once in a while.
I am a Singaporean and I can totally relate to Logesh 😅
Same, I can totally relate to that especially, we were a colony of the United States for forty-eight years!
Its lokesh
It is Lokesh.
Hahahaha…. I’m Malaysian Chinese and my husband is French. We have so many cultural differences as well. We Asians practice similar lifestyles and believes wherever we are. My husband calls me OCD lol…. I call it being clean, neat and tidy 😂😂😂
As a singaporean all of these are relatable!
Totally agree with many of them. My husband is obsessed with plastic and dishes. Our microwave is more than 10yrs old and still has the plastic on the digital screen!
This was so fun to watch🤗😁 I just stumbled on my new favourite channel!!
@3:41 just killed me. Literally. I screamed when I heard Rachel pulled that plastic 😂
Hahahahahahaha!!! The soy sauce portion is my favourite! And to be honest, I still have the wrapper around my 5 year old tv...🤣
🤣

As an Indian, I really enjoyed this video!!! Each and every thing you did in this video is true

Food is sacred for us.. that's why we never put food on the ground or next to shoes...

As an Indian from South Africa 🇿🇦 (born & raised) this is so accurate 😮
You know middle east part of asia 😁
Thoroughly enjoyed because of the accuracy! Thank you!😁New subscriber 😁
Ohhhh I thought it's because bamboo will attract spirits and ghosts lmao.
It's hilarious 🤣🤣😆😆
As a South Indian I can relate to the most of the things in this video
So interesting.I lived in this country for 46 years.I went through every bit of it.There is a lot to learn from our children if we are open minded and give them some freedom.
I am not sure if people remember but it was not unusual to find cars in Malaysia in 70's/80s completely covered with plastic sheets where the upholstery is. That's the first thing that was done, remove the plastic that came covered with the car, go to a shop and put new plastic covers in. I still find it rediculous that some westerners and also Asians think there is nothing wrong with using the same shoes indoors and outdoors..especially when things are carpetted.
New chairs even 🤣🤣
Exactly, can't comprehend that
We still have it that way, atleast on the front sun shields!
Watching this as a Russian and understanding that 90% of this pretty much applies to me too. Lol, it means that culturally Russians and Asians have a lot in common.
