They've spoken about John (Super Eyepatch Wolf) many times on the podcast, but it's nice to finally have him on and get to know more about him. Years of buildup and it finally pays off.
The funniest part about John's supervillain origin story that got missed out (unless they bring it up again later in the podcast) is exactly why Woolie disliked Hunter x Hunter so much. For those of you who don't know, there are two adaptations of the show: the popular one that everyone likes from 2011 that got to adapt most of the manga and one that was made in the early stages of the manga in 1999. If you've never heard of the latter, it's because it was by most accounts a pretty poor adaptation that drags out the story with filler with worse production quality. The 1999 version was, by accident, the one that Woolie had watched because it hadn't been made clear to him which one was the good one. This was the one that he trashed on the podcast and he didn't explain which version he'd originally watched. (He eventually got round to watching the 2011 version and loved it, like most people) So, John's very first video - the one that convinced me to watch hunter x hunter myself - was made based entirely on a misunderstanding. If he'd known that Woolie was actually badmouthing the 1999 version, it's entirely possible he may never have become a youtuber.
The fact that john and garnt basically jerk and suck each other off the entire video while joey and connor are just chilling on the other side of the room is as wholesome as it is hilarious

I quit TKD a few weeks later
I obviously don't know your relationship with your teacher, how that spar went, or it's context, and I don't want to make you feel worse, but why did this happen? You're an adult of 25 at the time, told by another another adult to spar with an 11 year old girl to your full extent, and didn't say "No, that's fucked up. There was nothing to "get" from the teacher telling you to do this, and that kind of leniency thought process to a person who's job comes with the responsibility for children's safety. That there would be any situation the 11 year old girl would use TKD on a 25 year old assailant outside of class, and for the lesson to be that the 11 year old girl should feel like it's possible to fight the 25 year old assailant outside of class instead of doing anything else besides running as fast as possible to the nearest adult for help, is just stupid, irresponsible, and an awful thing to teach any child. Fun fact: if you watch any content that suggests Ichigo is a passive character that doesn't grow or doesn't have goals, there will almost always be a comment that will say "Wow someone watched SuperEyePatchWolf's video" then a reply to that comment that says "And he even retracted that statement in another Bleach video😂"
@@ink8027 yeah thats if u watched bleach without trying to understand it. Ichigo does have a lot of character development, some of it was during the arrancar arc. And then his character did a full 180 during the fullbring arc. I am very much willing to start an argument but I don't think anyone wants to hear my rant or go on about my views and opinions on ichigos character development but I'll try to summarize it. Ichigo is probably one of my favourite characters in both anime and manga in my opinion because he doesn't strive to be the strongest or the best, he just wants to protect his friends, Ichigo says this himself in Bleach: Untold Stories: Chapter 0 Side A: The Sand. "...If fate is a millstone, we are the grist. There is nothing we can do. So I wish for strength. If I cannot protect them from the wheel, then give me a strong blade, and enough strength, to shatter fate." We also see Ichigo fall multiple times throughout the story of Bleach, especially during the Fullbring Arc after he loses all his soul reaping powers. After Uryu is attacked, he feels hopelessness for the first time ever since the incident with Aizen. Instead of protecting everyone, they are now the ones protecting him. Hes basically a liability at this point, dead weight even. And it is that weakness that Ichigo feels that pushes him to join Xcution, only to be betrayed by them and lose all his powers the moment he gains them back. He lost everything when he fought Aizen, and he gained it all back during his time with Xcution, only to lose it again. And after that, it is even revealed that the Soul Society are not good guys, but just the lesser evil of the bleach world. This is further added upon in the TYBW arc. My last point is going to be based on Urahara. Although he might come off as a playful character, looks can be very deceiving. I'm not trying to say that he is evil or anything like that, but most of his intentions are far from being what someone would consider "good." He had no problem sending Ichigo and Yoruichi to the Soul Palace even though the likelihood of them dying was extremely high, if it meant delaying the enemy forces, even for a single minute. And another example of this was when he stored the Hogyoku inside Rukia. To be fair, it was in the best interest of the world, but not only did he implant it into her body without either her consent or knowledge, but it is not even known if he apologized to Rukia or tried to make amends for it.
Ichigo’s most interesting character progression is relating his 23andMe to every new arc. Love Bleach, but KT’s got more asspulls than a Tokyo traincar.

As an avid watcher of the boys and old school WWE fan I never thought I’d hear the Montreal Screwjob getting explained on a TT episode, but I’m here for it 😂
In the topic of horror movies, The Ring (the American one from 2002) screwed with me in such a profound and deep way that it's hard to put into words. I've never had issues with any "realistic fear", but I can safely say that the most horrifying thing to me that I've ever seen has been the sheer trepidation of The Ring. To this day I sometimes wake up in cold sweat and need to turn on all my lights and just stay awake because of my imagination running wild and me thinking of that movie. I'm 30 years old and scared of cursed little ghost girls. PS: Yes, I've seen the original, and I don't care which one "is better", the point is that the 2002 one really fucked me over.
The one video that really surprised me was about Samurai Jack's final season. It was such a nostalgic throwback, I really connected with it. And when it really come out, it was amazing and didn't disappoint.
Garnt liking SOMA is pretty neat. He always liked existential and cosmic types of horror. Those genres likely contributed to him liking Made in Abyss and Annihilation.
50:00 Studies have been done on this sort of phenomenon. Even when the metrics are flipped so that the worst songs were ranked the highest, the quality songs that people enjoyed naturally found their way to the top. There are absolutely hidden gems that haven’t gained traction yet, but I would say far more are hidden because their creators really don’t want them to be known.

9:04 Look at that Connor and Joey finally synching😢
someone needs to clip it
I am such a huge fan of John and it was so cool seeing him on trash taste! He is SUCH a talented storyteller and I respect him and his work so much that I can forgive the trauma his Garfield video caused me. A great episode!!
But that take in itself is wrong as Ichigo does change thru out the story of Bleach.
@@seiba6942Barely. The narrative was written like he did, but no change was shown
Ichigo is one of best written shonen characters ever. The whole criticism about him not having goals is stupid asf.
If I cannot protect them from the wheel, then give me a strong blade, and enough strength, to shatter fate."
We also see Ichigo fall multiple times throughout the story of Bleach, especially during the Fullbring Arc after he loses all his soul reaping powers.
This is one of my favorite episodes. Always wanted to see John with the boys ever since they mentioned him way back.
Really enjoyed this episode, loved all the stories! 2 hours flew by honestly
Now we need Woolie on the podcast!!
Who?
Who tf
look him up if you don't know him
Whoooooo????
for those who don't know, Woolie basically created Eye Patch Wolf
super eyepatch wolf is my absolute fav content creator, just really well made stuff and amazing ideas, already watch every one of his vids and its painful to be caught up and have to wait
As an avid watcher of the boys and old school WWE fan I never thought I’d hear the Montreal Screwjob getting explained on a TT episode, but I’m here for it 😂
1:58 as superbestfriends said Eyepatchwolf is default character preset 2 hot and it's one of the most accurate compliments I've ever heard.
PS: Yes, I've seen the original, and I don't care which one "is better", the point is that the 2002 one really fucked me over.
the man we waited for since guests started being a thing! wonderful to see Mr.Wolf on TT!
I've been waiting for this collab since they started this podcast
Great pod. Also good camera work panning between who’s talking. See that a lot in the impaulsive pod and works great here.
Finally John came on as a guest! I love his videos. This was a great episode
All of my favorite creators in one videos and it is almost two hours. This is their peak episode.
I literally been waiting for this like.... since forever.
I love this episode already, and it's my new favorite!
51:21 fear a hunger was one of the most talked about games on 4chan
I have been eagerly waiting for this episode since this podcast started.
ITS HAPPENING. SO EXCITED FOR THIS CROSSOVER
Gotta say this is the first trash taste that I sat through and listened. I love my boy super eye patch wolf, super entertaining. Hope he comes back as a guest
John gassing up Garnt about making a Baki video is so wholesome.
This is probably the guest episode I've been waiting the longest for!
Been impatiently awaiting this one.
his voice is so distinct and specific. I've seen only 1 video of his (abt the fortune tellers and stuff) and I immediately was like wait it sounds like that guy from that 1 video.
Let's go I love supereyepatchwolf seeing him with the Bois is awesome!!!!!
Wasn't this mf spreading misinformation about Bleach? Lol
@@GAZAMAN93X like what it's been a minute since I've seen his video about bleach
@@GAZAMAN93Xlmao funny that this is what you need to mad at
@@GAZAMAN93X Yeah, he said it started out good, which is an absolute lie.
@@EzartJMir ????
Supereyepatchwolf's video on the disaster that was Shenmue 3 is something I go back and rewatch regularly :D
Tim Rogers' video game essay videos are legendary. He definitely isn't a narc.
THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE TO ME! This is the guest I wanted more to see here since episode 1, and I finally can see John and the boys together talking, I just love everybody's vibe
I see he is taking a break from converting Woolie to the HxH cult
Its so weird seeing other people learn about the Montreal screwjob for the first time.
Cuz like, thats wrestling lore. Thats like describing what a Super Saiyan is to someone who has no fucking clue what Dragon Ball Z is but kinda watched a few episodes of filler Dragonball as a kid.
Also not only did Brett spit on the owner of the company ON CAMERA (also outing the guy as the actual owner in the process, he had like played an announcer), Brett knocked him tf out backstage
Yeaaaa woolie mention! He didnt mention that Woolie was talking about the older anime at the time but it would've been funny if he mentioned the series of him forcing Woolie to watch the newer anime
Brooooo super eye patch wolf is here?!!!
Brooo I've remained alive just to see this day come
I've gone to sleep listening to this man's voice more times than I care to admit. 😂
aodisja _this episode is the one_ omg!!! tbt the S1 episode where the bois collectively talked abt how john was unironically the hottest anituber XD so excited to the bois reminisce together and for john to inevitably get emotional over pro wrestling!
*edit:* 1:53 legit less than 2 minutes in and john also brings up the same story oh god this convo is going to be amazing LOL
21:13 as of 2 days before this ep's drop td garfield gained 500k views over the simpsons so o7 😔 garfield's taken everything from john fr
1:36:55 so wholesome 🥹 just building each other up and as a long time fan of both i am _SO_ down for a gigguk baki video!!
Surprised it took almost an hour before F&H came up. Great restraint from John and Connor
I really like how trash taste is now doing this effect with the camera 😁where it's physically moving to the person talking , instead of say cutting to another camera angle . It's seems like there is an active camera man behind the camera , rotating it to the person talking or SLOWLY zooming in on a person when they are explaining or describing something. Creating🙌this super compelling narrative on the video👌😆👏 You can see it here : 1:25:05 and here 1:50:09

Dude, the 6 hour Tokimeki Memorial video was 6 bangers and a half. The only thing drawn out about that video is how many times he proceeded to grind the game through and through for the video.
I love the guests this show gets. I don't know any of them, but they're all super interesting and engaging people.
I love how Woolie is essentially a Canon event in John's life
John has great chemistry with the other guys. Feels like he should be a permanent guest
I never wanted this episode to end, awesome video
Finally getting the Super Eyepatch Wolf episode. Been waiting for this one for a long time!
Connor: “The Menu has been on every plane I’ve been on ever”
Translation: “I’ve been on a double digit amount of planes in the past 100 days and I’m over it; this is my entire existence.”
OH MY DEAR GOD FINALLY!!! How is he not part of this podcast to begin with! I don’t understand how it took u guys so long to finally come together. Omg I’m just too excited.
I MISS OLD ANITUBE. John, Garnt and Mothers Basement got me back into anime.

Dang I must be behind the times - really dig the new studio. Tour video when!?
Also, Rouge sucking off Shadow should be nominated for best out of context clip at the trash taste awards. 31:37 or so
I have hope they can get Totally Not Mark on here if they ever do an Australia tour now. Love this.
John has a narrator quality to his voice where, every time he starts a sentence, I feel myself bracing for an hour long meandering essay.
Now this is the one collab I've always waited for. For most people it was pewdiepie but for me, it's this guy right here
Weird coincidence, I spent the last week going throguh EyepatchWolf's library of videos, good lord the man can tell a gripping story about anything.
Finally, after the many name drops of supereyepathwolf, he finally makes an appearance in the Trash Taste Cinematic Universe
I literally just finished finished a Super Eyepatch Wolf video the Trash Taste bois know I was craving lol. Been a long time fan of John's glad they got him on the Pod!
The man who built an empire on being annoyed 2 Canadians shitted on Hunter x Hunter. The GOAT!
The discussion about expert-on-one-series 'tubers reminds me of when I got into a poetry class, picked one of Yeats' obscure poem sets as a topic for my essay, and then found out our professor had literally written the book on Yeats we were using for the class. Which...yeah. For the make-up essay I picked a poet he hadn't devoted his life to and suddenly he was a lot more receptive to ideas based on the limited information one student could get over a weekend of reading.
The fact that John got into Trash Taste first before CSB is kind of weird to me.
Then again, at least Woolie gets to escape from HxH again
Wel uhh. There's was some stuff that went down regarding Paige unless there wasn't a court case that everyone's been trying to forget about/cover up. I can't find the info because pretty sure the reddit threads were scrubbed. But I doubt it's anything anyone wants to remember so I'd just leave it at that.

John's origin is like Saitama's origin story. Except instead of fighting off a crab monster one fateful night, he went home and watched anime instead.
