A lot of great information! Thank you for sharing! Wanting to fine tune my transmission. Car runs great at WOT but when cruising and needing to pass a car it doesn’t want to downshift and stays in 4th…can’t wait to bapply what you’ve got here
Late to the party, but did you end up sharing the spreadsheet anywhere? I'd be interested to see what my gear and 4l80e combo would look like! Thanks for the vid!!! Learned more in half an hour than months of researching 😅
It took me a couple weeks of driving and adjusting to get mine the way I want it. One thing I noticed is that mine would not shift at WOT unless the red line crossed the black line. Lowering the WOT shift RPM to lower the black line would drop the RPMs too much, so I set all the red line points over the black line past the MPH I should be doing at that worked. Granted, I may have some other setting that is incorrect, but it's working for me. Thanks for the video!!!
Is there some help I could get from you setting up a tune (transmission) for drag racing ?4l80e with air shifter and 6.0 LS 4000 fti stall 4:10 gear. ? Thank you
Please explain in more detail what you mean by running out of motor in relation to the grey calculated shift curves. Thanks for the best tuning sites i have visited.
@@DarcyPretula what I should have said is run out of rpm That line shows you the commanded shift point. I used some engine slang that I understand is confusing. My apologies.
I used your numbers for my trans and it works amazing but I’ve been having a 1st gear hold when trans temp gets up to 145deg then when it hits 4500 rpm it shifts into 2nd then 3rd normal would you think the A solenoid is going faulty when trans gets heat in it
You mentioned maximum line pressure, but is there a way to set what psi the maximum line pressure is? I ask because my builder says not to go over 220psi.
You have to add a 5v 300psi pressure transducer on the pressure port of the 4l80e to monitor psi. My transmission builder also stated to not exceed 220psi, and my precision converter paperwork says not to exceed 180psi. Right now I have duty cycle set at 15% at wot until I get the sensor installed. Also lowered duty cycle in 1st gear st idle to 55% because it would slam into gear when going from park to reverse or drive.
@@procharged94 try setting the first two cells at 55 in first gear and try shifting in and out of gear. I've gone as far as 65 and gear change was barely noticeable. 55% felt like the sweet spot in my setup.

I always just make the curve what it should be mathematically and then lower the WOT target to achieve the goal
Finally!!! You the MAN.

can you point to a specific time stamp in the video?
Time stamp is Starts at 7 minutes and goes until 7:20 seconds

There is not. It’s simply a solenoid based relief valve. You’d need to measure the pressure.

@@El_5Zero Mine also slams into gear. I've raised duty cycle to 35% so far with no change. I'll give 55% a try.
