Fuel Injectors = GENUINE Siemens Deka or Bosch. FIC (fuel injector clinic) or ID (Injector Dynamics) which starts from Genuine Bosch OE. Depends on flow range needed.
Definitely run a fuel pressure sensor. You can easily be fooled into thinking everything is fine even though fuel pressure is dropping to 25psi! All the data you can monitor will make tuning that much easier.
It can make troubleshooting much easier and possibly save engine damage. If you have a wide band however you can also use that to save the engine if pressure drops and it leans out. But you still have to troubleshoot it .
@JoeSimpsonAtTempest people think it doesn't matter lol, I've had shops hire me for tuning and they don't even have a MAT sensor, thought it wasn't important lmao
I think for the most part, I am setting up my junk with a decent plan. I hope Holley injectors are good since they are the ones I got. So far the car runs, one day I even plan on tuning it, once I get it driveable.
The people having issues with EFI are the same people that bolt on a new carb out of the box and can't comprehend why the engine doesn't run right. They also think that wire nuts and self tappers make a good electrical connection.
Good info here. I feel like it’s a good ecu for the money, and I’m squeezing all I can out of it with my NA 5.3. I always recommended the CAN expansion module and get quality sensors. I’m a novice to tuning but you have been a big help with setting everything up and getting running decent. Yeah the knock sensors seem pretty useless. I can get them to read but they don’t seem right. I just pay attention to my VE values and AFR targets and things seem to run pretty good.
After listening to you and Happel talk about how bad the knock tuning is on Holley I just pulled the wires out of my harness. Not even gonna mess with it. TTT will show me the way :)
In my experience knock control in OEM ecus is used as a preventative measure mostly. There are features that will retard the timing somewhat over time based on how much knock there is. But generally it won t continue to advance the timing past what is in the ignition table if knock free. I watched a video on Holley and it seems the tricky part is distinguishing what is real knock and what is just noise. This takes some time and testing but seems doable.
@maikolrodriquez oem ecu is the move. It can be easily tuned with DS1. They have instructions for swaps also. I has syvecs on my RS3 shop car. I went back do DS1 for driveability.
Are the 24x harnesses wired for the gen 3 style 1 bar map (left to right: 5v, out, ground) and the 58x wired for the 1.3 bar LS3 map (left to right: out, ground, 5v)?
I'm running a NTK sensor on a Terminator X and just did a drag and drive event with it and seemed to run fine. Do you think it could be an issue or should it just not work?
ive just had a tuning shop for a long time. installed a holley kit, taught myself how to tune it, and got bombarded with holley work so ive just sorta learned the in's and out's of it after doing a whole lot of it
ive used tons of weldon stuff in the past with great success. used to use their regulators on everything. most of their pumps are big loud and expensive so they dont make the most sense for a lot of applications
Got several people telling me that I can’t tune ve format. Ve format is not realistic option. Omg people I can’t fix stupid! Everything else is manageable!
I don't have knock sensors. I thought you had said once That There isn't a way to configure it with terminator. I guess i must have heard that somewhere else.Crap! Learning is tough when your brain is the size of a pee, And your piggy bank is hiding under the bed In the feedle position.
Terminator X is self tooning bro. You literally spend the big $$$ to avoid paying a tooner. Stop putting it down. Your just mad they stole your job. We dont need you bud ✌️

Never going back to the Holley now that the Haltech Rebel LS is out
soooo much better.
Wish I would have known.

Where can i buy ORIGINAL injectors? Not chinese
I think everything is made in china these days😂

Unfortunately, too many people fall victim to the misinformation of Holley’s marketing campaign.

Was curious about knock control with Holley. OEM ecu knock control seems fairly reliable in my experience.
I have zero issues running with knock sensors on an Xmax. It works great, pulls timing when needed, etc. Its all explained in the manual.

MIghtve been worth mentioning how the "self tuning" actually works. Most self installers dont know what to do with the learn tables.
Jesus Christ so much you got to do !!!
I'm happy with my DEMON 625 that I redone to a 750 and added annular boosters in my garage !!
🤷♂️
Droppin' knowledge for the greater good, thanks Joe.
Been using 3 bar sensors most format
Thank you Joe, information that comes from you is good. I'll trust you.
Thanks Joe Excellent Video.
Thank you Joe for making this video . Very helpful info .
Thank you for sharing this information!
You're the man Joe. Forget the haters.
Also where do you get your B roll? Its amazing! ha
Thanks again 👍
Time to learn some haltech stuff
Great info thanks
Will this work on my 5cyl Audi
If you are looking to tune a DAZA do yourself a favor and stay away from holley for that.
Syvecs seems to be the way to go for that.
No, but it will work with a Kia soul.
@maikolrodriquez oem ecu is the move. It can be easily tuned with DS1. They have instructions for swaps also. I has syvecs on my RS3 shop car. I went back do DS1 for driveability.
Yes i've done it hundreds of times
Is deka 80 one of the injectors you can choose from in list of injectors
This video literally killed me 😅
Awesome information
I have a few ebay fake bosch sensors that appear to be real down to the packaging. none of them work.
Would like to put a terminator x on a 4g63 dsm.

How can I get in contact with you to pay you for a remote tune? Been a sub for some years now and very interested in your expertise.
I'm running a NTK sensor on a Terminator X and just did a drag and drive event with it and seemed to run fine. Do you think it could be an issue or should it just not work?
I'm intrigued... which ntk did you run?
I ran the sensor from Holley 554-100. I couldn't change it in the software off the Bosch sensor but ran fine the whole time.
Can´t believe how often you´ve had to make videos with this theme of the ECU basics and then having to drill it in to people so many times.
how did you learn all this stuff on holley systems. what is your background in tuning
ive just had a tuning shop for a long time. installed a holley kit, taught myself how to tune it, and got bombarded with holley work so ive just sorta learned the in's and out's of it after doing a whole lot of it
What fuel pump and regulator brand do you recommend, or have you tested before with good results?
Thanks

@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest I'm making a street strip car forndsyly driving, so o dont want something loud but I want domthkng very reliable
Anyone know if holley injectors are any good or ok ?
I've watched a fairly experienced automotive technician pull his hair out trying to get one working.
Can u tell me in holleys injector list best matches up with my id's,100lb......thx,Todd,from Tennessee.
enter the data manually that ID provides
I wish this video was out years ago to scare all the idiots buying these thinking they self tune themselves
I have fast 36lb are those in the app
download the software and check, perfect excuse to start getting yourself familiar with navigating the software! (its a free download on holleys site)
Does terminator x support 2 knock sensors?
He answered that in the video but no, only 1. Dominator does 2.
Two knock sensors, yes, Two Oxygen Sensors no.
@@davekauffman561 it will do 2 knock sensors, just one 02 sensor

We are living in a golden age where people want to be spoon fed. Research?? What's that?? If I'm spending money it should just work. LOOOOOLL!!
$2k+ for a tuner. It should be pretty straightforward....

@@kevinwest3689 you don’t need them, very few people use them with Holley
Do you sell Holley efi kits?
no, I am not a dealer.

Accell is overpriced chinese junk
Theses things are junk, had all the stuff ,did all prevention, it is not user friendly. And called help and still did not work.
