"Use your product like you stole it."
    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like the "what can this generator do" videos.
I am not a scientific geek so watts, volts amps etc goes right over my head.
I like both videos. The more scientific ones help me learn and these tell me what I can actually DO with the generator.

Volts is the speed of the river, amps is the size of the river, and watts is speed times size. That’s what works for me.

I have two of the Jackery 1000 Explorers. I'm 84 and don't travel, but I've found uses all around my place for these great power batteries.. When you first did your videos on the Jackery, I bought one, then, after finding how great a machine the first one was, and how safe, beautifully packaged in it's plastic case, and how easy to use it was, a few months later bought the second one. By trial and error I now know what the Jackery's will power, but your video on what they will handle is very helpful to those of us who have a very inferior knowledge of electricity. Thanks for your ability to communicate so wonderfully.

One of the things that thrills me on a sunny day is how the Jackery can keep my 12v refrigerator/freezer at the coldest setting yet stay at 100% when hooked up to a solar panel. That's my favorite use.

I already knew most of what you were explaining, but it’s still a good watch especially for new people. My favorites are your product reviews that go in to battery chemistry, cycle life, operating parameters such as max charge rate, discharge rate testing etc. I haven’t seen many others test to the extent that you do, and I have learned quite a bit from you. I know your test procedures take a lot of effort but that is what separates you from the others. Thanks Tom

Very cool format. I like that you picked things you knew would work, and other things you knew would fail. If you had a standard set of things you tested against, with different "SoGen" models, it would provide a good baseline. You have way more patience than I do. :)

I bought mine on May 2020 and I'm using right now while watching this video. Bought for hurricane season here in Puerto Rico, luckily no hurricanes here (yet), but we've been having some power outages in these past few days and I use it to plug my fridge, a freezer, wifi router and a fan and it could last up to 8 hours non-stop, this has been one of the best purchases I've made in this past year, your videos helped me a lot when I wad looking for one. 🙋‍♂️thanks.

I found it useful. Maybe frame it around a situation you’re in? Here’s what XXX solgen will handle when (1) you’ve lost power and AC, heaters etc are important (2) or when you’re camping (3) or when you’re tailgating etc - just scenarios where certain loads are combined more often.

Thank you for taking the time to do the review. I went with a 320W Wattfun (peak 640W) because I understood it to have all the same features, but a much smaller price tag, but still the ability to run a fridge/AC because of the spike/peak feature (to 640W) when the compressor starts up. I haven't tested my "science," so I'm hoping I made the right choice over the 1000w Jackery.

...For all the really cool camp stoves and wood stove tents etc.
Having a solar gen and a nice electric blanket is about the same as having a heated floor.
With an insulated tent set up, this would be great for some winter camping.
Especially if you wanted to keep a low profile.
There are blankets that are 12V but many auto shut off.. wattage ? run time? ...? must be way more efficient than any space heater.
    food for thought!

I like the format and I think it's helpful. Another thing I think you can do with this SoGen is charge an E bike. It may not charge it all the way up, but it should run the charger that comes with the bike, with the expected efficiency issues. You might include that in future videos of this nature.

You should be able to get a full charge with a typical 672 Wh (watt hour) e-bike battery. This would be equivalent to a battery capacity of 14 Ah (amp hours) @ 48V (nominal voltage). See below for hypothetical comparison.
      Jackery Explorer 1000 ---- (1,002 Wh * .68 efficiency) / 672 Wh e-bike battery = 101% full charge.
      Jackery Explorer 1500 ---- (1,535 Wh * .68 efficiency) / 672 Wh e-bike battery = 155% full charge.

Thanks Tom, this is exactly the kind of reviews I've wanted to see, real world application. I'd suggest testing electric/pellet smokers. The auger and heat element only run when need pellets are added to the burn pot, but the computer is always running. Just curious if I could do a 7lbs pork butt, at an 1.5hrs/lbs.
BTW, Cornholio and Towlie bring back memories. Thanks for the throw back to Friday morning Fry's Ad reviews.

Yes! So definitely! I had heard the 20%/80% when he said it first, but then never again anywhere -good confirmation. Will make me stick to it! Esp about the heat again too...b/c that means I Gotta store these in the house-dang it, I WANT TO just keep them in the van -but I also want them to be there when I need them! :-/ Gotta go with the facts. Thanks for the facts Professor!

I first heard the 20%/80% battery strategy from Tesla owners. I even think it's a setting on the car as to what level to charge to.

I love the not-so-subtle approach to people who want everything given to them rather than putting a tiny bit of thought into it. I got a kick out of this video and your un-impressed attitude towards walking people through it all 😄

I can't believe you didn't test it with a candle warmer! I mean it IS an essential appliance in a blackout situation! Lol just kidding. I have a jackery 500 but thinking of upgrading.

Before I realized I should be using an insulated thermal coffee cup I use to keep my coffee cup warm with a candle warmer. It did use to be essential. I hate cold coffee.

I found this format helpful. I would like to see a few "beginner" videos in the future. (I am a newbie). On the appliances the Jackery 1000 couldn't handle, it would be helpful if you would suggest a product, that would. Thanks again.
