Well that's my 71 year old memory banks topped up! Thanks for the video! Wiz Norton Racing you are AWESOME! Richard Wilson Congratulation on your 'Taming of the Beast! 💯
Many years ago I was lucky enough to ride one of these from Essex to the Rock and Blues in Derby and back, I managed to bungee a small tent and sleeping bag on the tail. Impossible to ride slowly around town, not happy until 70 + mph when she came into her own, she would accelerate from 100 upwards like from a standstill on a regular bike. On the way back I left my Commander riding companions and despite her tractor rear tyre I gave her the berries all the way, on a packed sunday M25 a clearing opened before me and I remember glancing down and seeing the speedo climb through 170 ! the gentle curves on the motorway became sharp bends and I was cranked right over to negotiate them, the ford focuses with their roof boxes but a silver blur flashing by. Exhilarating stuff and totally mad but I got away without ending in a fireball and a 2 inch obituary, the tent stayed on but was hanging down at the side of the rear wheel when I got home. The bike was sold at Stafford show auction some years later, she was bought by a classic bike magazine and given away as a prize. Awesome machines.
They invited us (me and my son) to have a closer look inside their tent to watch that fantastic Wankel-Engine. Thank you for that close look, it was amazing!
Total awesomeness of the highest quality,, what a beautiful noise and brilliant riding do they now have better materials for the tips that seal the rotors,,, from the days of the works Norton,, takes true dedicated team to keep these alive ,, thanks for posting your video ☘️☘️😃😃☘️😃 from northern Ireland great viewing and sound ☘️☘️
Brilliant, well done and a replica to boot. You and all your crew deserve gold medals for the work you had to do to enable to race.l last saw Richard on Saturday when the final kick in the nuts was when a seagull stole his chips! Congratulations and I hope to see you and your crew next year. All the best for whatever you ride next season.
The noise of the rotarys, dare i say its like two stroke but better?
That noise and looking at them Abus logos on his leathers gave me goose bumps, 30 years since the great man did the business on the beast.RIP Hizzy
