I remember you did a great take a few years back that essentially boiled down to Siege being a very complex and high skill type of game and that brought certain kind of players that NEED to win. Sure it led to amazing highs in gameplay but that came through slugging through toxic lobbies and players. I stoped playing when winning wasn’t even fun anymore due to my own toxic teammates. The other problem was time sink, post covid I studied in school harder and got a job, so I couldn’t be putting as much time and energy into the game You and other R6S creators made the game seem so fun, especially with friends, but for everyone else, that was hard to achieve PS good on you for coming out, your new voice is coming in nicely
I think siege is great. And they did a GOOD job with the balancing. I still play it. But you know what took it way too far? The ONE thing that made me go "What the f are they doing"??? WHY DID THEY DO FAVELA SO DIRTY?!?!?
No need to prove you wrong because nobody has entered the scene with gameplay thats anywhere close to Siege in a decade. Though Amazon Games siphoned much of Siege's original team of directors to work on a game there, so they might actually be working on a competitor.
When I played, I played with a stack I didn’t k irl , all my irl friends had stopped playing, once I stopped it was a breath of fresh air, the freedom to play other games w/ my irls was peak, siege ranked does stuff to a man.
I played Siege with my friends on a weekly basis for almost 3 years. There's many reasons why we stopped playing, but the largest is just that there's other games out there worth our time. And we didnt want to spend it playing the same thing for so many years, especially when there were other reasons mounting too. We liked the vibe of the setting. A vibe which in my opinion, has slowly been lost with the inflating number of operators, increasing size and complexity of many of the new maps, and the branching out into other kinds of operatives for playable characters. Its just not quite the same spec ops tac shooter I remember loving. Close to it, bit not quite it. Which is fine! Things are allowed to evolve, I just dont mesh with the direction the game has been taken.
You don't need a false dichotomy. There's a ton of ground between the current game direction and 2008 COD. You know that ground exists because Siege has already been there. Siege peaked once in 2018 and again in 2020, by playercount. It's not hard to infer my point, but to drive it home consider when there was growth and why, *because there's really only one period of sustained growth without the tailwind of a global pandemic.*
Siege is dead to me entirely because I just played it a lot and even with every new season since I stopped - I feel no reason to redownload it and play. It's insanely hard to stay completely locked on one game all the time and especially when the gameplay really hasn't changed all that much. And that's not a bad thing at all because the gameplay is very fun. Balance never once stopped the game from being fun. Even something super fun gets very boring if you just keep doing it over and over and over again. Multiplayer games like this just kind of naturally die. Nothing could be going wrong and it's still going to bleed players because the game itself really can't do much about it. Games that do keep living forever tend to have something special they do that most games don't like an MMO or Path of Exile. It's a miracle this game is even still alive with the player count it has. I thought it would be dead forever ago.
It’s funny how you don’t get why it’s dying, but you answered it yourself. Siege exists because it’s a niche enough tact shooter that really, has no other alternative. Val and CS don’t play or even feel like R6, CoD is too casual, R6 is like a combination of CoD SnD, hero shooters and CS all rolled into one, and clearly, it works.
I feel as though the censorship in chat has become overbearing, i dont play games to be sheltered from swearing or being taught not to swear. The balancing feels very off and the game seems to be going in a direction i dont enjoy. I went to Tarkov! Superior shooter overall, the Russian gamedevs are sort of refreshing. That's why I stopped playing. Loved siege since wind bastion, but my hat is on the shelf.

Game won't die anytime soon unless there's a direct competitor with the exact gameplay loop.
Prove me wrong

Or until Ubisoft finally drops the ball and breaks it

Honestly, that COD footage made me nostalgic lol

I stopped playing because I’ve been team killed one to many times because of my profile picture
Too much college jargon
