I’m about to start school again, at 32, to first become a paralegal but with a 5 year goal of wrapping up a bachelors and JD. What I appreciate about you is your stoic personality and delivery (😂I find lawyers a hoot, their concise nature yet eccentric ability to express a theory always makes me intrigued) and how you address a wide narrative on intelligence and how it’s undefinable. Even if the signs aren’t present, lawyers can see such a vast scope on every subject, so you’re reinforcing one to remember that your tangible skills are not useless. The memory portion is what’s motivating me to pursue law. Aside from the textbook reasons, my memory and linguistic learning style matches with what the job entails- it’s using fact, logic and reason to form a narrative. It’s the perfect blend of “meeting of the minds” so to speak, at least on my end. Thanks for your content!

2. Criminal law and labor law are not as hard as one would think because their interpretation is always toward the good in people. Mercantile law would be the most difficult because of its sheer volume and complex issues.

I understand. Public speaking is not a requirement. And in law school, you don't have to do it all time. Maybe 2 or 3 times per subject in a semester.
That is part of individual choice to be a lawyer even with or without one of those signs.
No argument there. No one is forcing anyone to be a lawyer
What am I trying to say sir Atty. is that everyone can be a lawyer with or without those signs. No argument involved. Just a sort of introspection sir. 😊

Hello, dean! Thank you for putting up great content. Law student here po. I am a sensitive person. Tuloy, moving on from failed recits or exams and the ruthless comments of professors is really a struggle. How can I be thick-skinned enough to survive law school?
First, think that is all temporary. Professors want to teach that way to strengthen the resolve of law students. Just remember, all students have failed recits and exams. I have had my fair share. And most important, its the norm in law school. I wish you the best of luck and good fortune in your law studies.

I am currently a grade 10 who wanted to be a lawyer in the future. I've also been subscribing to The dean's channel ever since. My parents gave me a name with the initials: L A W. While watching this video, I was waiting for a sign that I have or a sign that has the same as me but there's none. I still hope to be a great lawyer in the future. I have not memorized all the law, but I certainly remember them (at least the main parts) when needed. But if I have to memorize for a hearing or a client meeting, I do.
#2 As a lawyer, how do you keep yourself updated to new laws, mandates or simple ordinances? - As far as cases (Supreme Court), they release their newly decided cases every week. Same with laws. We get to learn the new "stuff" when we research. As a law professor, it is in my mandate to be updated

It has been a dream into becoming a Lawyer but became a Licensed Civil Engineer/Quantity Surveyor instead. 11 yrs after my graduation, Do i see myself setting foot into law school very soon? I am not sure I am able to juggle between work and studies though.😢
I understand that. But a vast majority of my students at my school are doing the same thing. Some are even 15 years past their college graduation. If that is your dream, I say go for it.

Attorney, is there a GPA cap requirement in law school admission? I've noticed that on every law school website, there is no mention of GPA as a requirement.

It's never to late to be a lawyer. I under the financial constraint. There are schools that have subsidized tuition fees such as my school, the University of Caloocan City. Our tuition fees are in the low 5 figures. I wish the best for you

You can learn those skills. While English is important, you can survive if you take some English classes now. Or join a theater or drama club

Good morning sir! Any advice for someone who isn't as smart in school, but their parents what them to become a lawyer? I actually fear lawyers as a kid and I can't imagine being one! The process alone scares me a lot. I have no other choice but to follow my parents. A year has passed and I found my self actually getting interested in law but still scared of whatever's about to happen and I don't trust myself because I'm not one to succeed. ☹️
I understand what you are going through. If you want some inspiration, watch Suits (available on Netflix). The show is not totally accurate as to the speed of litigation but highly accurate on the "high" a lawyer feels when a case is won. And when you are in law school, you will see a lot of your classmates with the same apprehension as you.

Let's put it in a better context. A novel writer makes up stories, which is technically fiction. Fiction is technically a non-truth. Writers can be good lawyers. So, there.
I had this teacher when I was in grade 9 she asked all of us how can we see ourselves in five to ten years and I was really desperate that time I said i can see myself as a lawyer but she really looked down on me saying it is not for me, do i really look that soft? now I have to prove I can
That was a bad teacher. There are no stereotypes in "looking like a lawyer". If you have a dream to be lawyer, there should be no one to stop you.

Hello Bianca. Thanks for subscribing. My father was a lawyer and when I was a kid, I always wanted to be lawyer. I started late though but it wasn't that late. Maybe take a college course for the career you want. You can go to law school when you are ready. I went to law school seven years after college.

Best to choose one near where you live. Once we go back to face to face classes, you need have less commute time. Traveling adds stress and takes away your free time.
