Hello dean! I am currently a nursing student planning on shifting this AY due to financial and personal issues, there are schools offering free tuition fees and I really want to choose the best pre-law major that would aid me best in law school, and if I ever am not able to go to law school it may be my career as well. The two programs I deeply am troubled about taking is Communications and History. For starters, I really am passionate about history or anthropology as this has been my childhood dream and I think it would be something worthwhile of learning, although I have been told that my career opportunities if I do not enter law school or engage in higher degrees, would be limited. Next is Communication or Speech Comm, I am really great at public speaking. I have won debates and other categories of public speaking in my high school that has aided me in gaining confidence and knowledge when speaking in front of a crowd. I love public speaking because I know this is one thing that I am good at especially that I know that I am able to hone my confidence in a way that I could project my talent more. I both love these programs and I think I could grow either way. Then again I have this fear that since I am shifting I don't know if I should go for which as I am afraid to make the same mistake as I did in my previous program. I am greatly thankful to have seen your channel as it further inspired me to pursue law
Hi Valerie. You are at a crossroads now in selecting a college course. It is wise to think also of your future outside of law school. It is also encouraging that you want to be a lawyer. My best thoughts on the matter is to take the course where you will enjoy learning. Having a memorable and happy college experience will help you adjust to the rigors of law school. At this point, I would recommend to take Communication. If you don't go to law school, a communications degree will get you job in Human Resources, advertising and social media management. I wish you the best of luck!
@@TheDeanLawChannel Thank you so much dean for your insightful and encouraging response! ❤️ Praying to get accepted to my next university 😭 May your channel grow and reach more future aspiring and soon to be warriors of justice. ☺️ Stay safe po and God bless ☺️
Meanwhile, everyone’s asking for the best Pre-Law Course in this comment section. Let me just appreciate Dean for having such good communication or speaking skills, if you were my prof I could listen to you all day with the way you explain things. More power, Dean! ❤️
There's really no degree recommended for law school. But you are right Dean, courses that will land you on a job (in case of quitting or not passing the Bar exam) is a practical recommendation for entry to law school (for plan B purposes hehe) God bless!
Hello Dean! I plan to take a double course. One in Marketing and one in Philosophy. It's going to be tough and I know. I'm going to do my best after college and at the same learn and have fun. I'm still a Grade 10 student, dreaming big at the same time, learning about myself, and changing as time passes on. I know my flaws and I am willing to change them (even just a small bit of it can help me). All in all, thank you for your inspiring video about what college major would help for law school. I plan to become a lawyer someday and I'm really glad that I was recommended to watch this by my friend. It is really helpful. ^^
Thank you, Dean! I'm currently talking Bachelor of Education Major in English and I thought it isn't aligned with my dream to become a lawyer. I was already losing hope. Thank you very much.
Months from now, I will graduate in senior high and I am looking forward to take AB English in college. So I was kinda nervous when you have already mentioned accountancy, business management, philosophy, political science and all that but not literature. I literally had a second thought that it was a bad choice for my pre-law course. Lol. Btw, thank you for the tips! I would really love to hear something like this from a dean!
For me personally, I would welcome the AB English degree. It will give you the best critical analytical thinking. All lawyers need that and only develop it in law school.
I was a BS Computer Science student during my first semester, and I bravely took the risk in shifting to AB English Literature Study for my second semester SY 2020-2021 because it feels like I enter the wrong room not suit for my interest. I choose AB Eng in hopes that it will help me in my english both speaking and writing that soon I can use if ever I want to proceed Law School. So I'm very thankful I found your channel Mr. Dean.
Hi dean! I am binge watching your videos! I am a graduating economics student and I’ve been dreaming on becoming a lawyer. I am determined to become an economist lawyer 7 years from now, thanks for this video!
I graduated BSIT specialized in Multimedia 7 yrs ago, before never ko pong naisip or even have the slightest desire to become a lawyer. Now, I'm having some "change of heart" and suddenly got interest in law school, but I was also hesitant because of my college degree, some say its not fit for law school daw kasi Accountancy and Polsci were the "ideal" courses, I got discouraged somehow but I really have this deep desire to become an IP/IT lawyer someday po. But today, with your videos po it helps me rethink and reconsider in taking law school po. Thank you for the enlightenment po Dean and God Bless you more po.
You are most welcome. At my school, the University of Caloocan City College of Law, I will accept any college course. What I look for are students who want to pursue their ambition or dream to be a lawyer.
I FEEL RELIEVE DEAN. I WANTED TO ENTER LAW SCHOOL IN THE FUTURE AND I AM EAGER TO TAKE CRIMINOLOGY AS MY PRE LAW COURSE IN SOME REASONS HOWEVER, CRIM IS NOT USUALLY THE CHOICE OF MAJORITY AS A PRE LAW COURSE AND I AM SO HAPPY THE MOMENT YOU SAID THAT CRIM IS ALSO A GOOD PRE LAW COURSE THANKS DEAN, THIS IS VERY HELPFUL AND ENCOURAGING.
Sabi na eh English related Major bet ni Dean Atty HAHAHAHAHAH Okay may confidence na ako sa degree ko pag papasok ako law school. Thank you Dean Attorney for the info shared!
Hello Dean, I am now at first year college, taking a Political Science major in Public policy and governance.... And planning to have a masters degree after college, and planning to enroll in Law school someday.... Thank you for the information about taking Law..... If you were my professor it would be great.... If ever... More power Dean...❤️❤️❤️
I am having second thougths on going to med (its too expensive and I have a business to manage) and I stumble upon this. This might be a sign. Thank you Dean for your insights!
Hi, dean! Thanks for sharing with us your knowledge and wisdom regarding law school. Hopefully, through God's help and mercy, I am going to try it. Btw... I am a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English graduate po and I am currently working in the public school. Thanks po ^_^
That's great to hear. I always admire police officers to want to be a lawyer. I have several students who are police officers over the course of my teaching and they are very hard working. I wish the best for you.
Im a graduate of Criminology and currently reviewing for CLE this upcoming Dec. Hopefully after passing the board, i would enter college of law and become a prosecutor in the near future.
Hello po dean! I’m contemplating whether to take engineering or accountancy as my pre law. Can you please share some pros and cons of those 2 courses when I plan to pursue Law school later on. Thank you dean! very much appreciated your vids po.
Ok, here we go: Engineering: Pro - you can practice patent law. Very lucrative payouts. US law firms pay about $180K annually as a starting salary! Cons - Too rigid in formula and concepts. Law is about interpreting words and not too much on data unless you are in patent law 😎 Accounting: Pro - You can practice tax law. Very few lawyers go into tax law which means you have little competition to look for jobs or clients Cons - Tax, no one likes tax.
Hello, Dean! I hope you notice this. I am currently a Grade 12 ABM student who's stuck with choices AB Legal Management, AB English Language Studies, and AB Sociology for my pre-law course (I didn't include BSA because I really do not enjoy the subject). I personally like AB Sociology the most but my personality calls for LegMa because it already covers many business law topics and I want to have a foretaste of law school. On the other hand, the reason why AB ELS occupies my least preferred choice is because I believe that one's English skills needed in law school can be honed in any pre-law. Both AB ELS & AB SCL are included on account of my 2nd dream, which is to be a professor. Moreover, I already put AB Legal Management as my main program choice but I can still change it. If I choose this course, I am afraid I'd find it hard to land a job after college. What are the pros and cons of LegMa? Is this a good pre-law?
So the specific question is on legal management... The pros: 1. You will definitely have prior knowledge (at least for freshman year) on the laws that is taken up in law school 2. If the law subjects are taught by lawyers, they might teach the way they do in law school, so you will have a taste in that. 3. Law schools won't question your degree and wonder why you went to law school. Cons: 1. The job market is indeed thin if you don't go to law school. 2. Law professors might have higher expectations on you to perform better in class. Hope this helps.
Hi dean! I am a CPA, graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Is it really a good course for aspiring lawyers? Can I do it? Since we are trained to analyze rather than memorize. I think I will have a hard time memorizing provisions :( Anyway, nice video ❤️
We have several CPAs studying the Univ. of Caloocan City, College of Law. I see that CPA's adjust quickly to the rigors of law school. I have a video on memorization techniques, maybe that can help - bit.ly/3nzGTMM
Thank you for sharing these inspiring ideas, Dean Rod. I'm currently a college instructor teaching English literature and oral communication. I've finally decided to enter law school and I would appreciate it so much if you can give me some law practice which are best suited for my undergraduate degree. I finished secondary education specializing in English. Thank you Dean. I'm already one of your subscriber.
You have an excellent undergraduate degree. For that, you can practice Constitutional law or even international law. Language is always subject to interpretation and construction. Your degree will definitely give you an advantage.
Dean, my friend's son is a graduate of specialist program in political science with double major in philosopy and mathematics in one of the top universities in the world. He aced the LSAT at 97 percentile and recieved an offer from yale, harvard and standford. He is planning to take the philippine bar after he finished his law school.
@@TheDeanLawChannel He is also a pinoy but migrated to Canada when he was 7 years old. I think the supreme court has allowed foreign law graduate pinoys to take the bar starting this year, 2023 but applicants must provide certain certifications to the supreme court.
Hello Dean! I am a graduating STEM student who is currently going through the rigorous phase of college applications. I would like to ask if Bachelor of Public Administration is an ideal pre-law degree for someone who is eyeing for government work after law school. I am aware that BA Political Science is the more preferred degree for such field, however, most of the universities I have applied to do not offer this degree and I have to resort to the closest possible degree which is B Public Administration (of which I am unsure whether it will help or not). I'm glad to have found your channel, your content is amazing and informative, keep it up!
Hello dean! Thank you so much for this video, it was a huge help for me to sort out my thoughts on what to take for my college degree. Would taking a BsEd in Biology or even Bs Biology become a hassle as a pre-law course? I want to take this because it's one of the courses that is under the DOST scholarship. Thank you again!
Hello po dean! 😊 Plan ko po sana na AB Philosophy po kunin as pre-law course since pakiramdam ko po interesting at maeenjoy ko po siya. Kaso iniisip ko po baka hindi po siya magandang fallback. 🥺
Good day Sir, I am currently taking BS Finance. I have profs who are Atty. that teaches us about Business law(ObliCon),Monetary policy(more on AMLA,AMLC, RA8791 etc) and taxation. I find it really interesting to study about these subjs and it excites me everytime there are recitations.
Good day, Dean! This video was very helpful and I am very glad that I happened to stumble upon your channel :> .I'm a graduating SHS student and I am planning to take Accountancy as a pre-law course, but I would like to become a Prosecutor someday. Although Criminology is more preferable, is it okay if I proceed to Accountancy instead? Since it is due to the career opportunities if ever law school does not work out for me. Thank you :>
Go with Accounting. If that is a course where you will comfortable, you will have a great time in college. A good college experience is always good. You can still be a prosecutor! you can specialize in financial crimes.
Took AB legal Management in UST as my pre law course. Well, quite advantage in the first 2 weeks of law school but after that, all are in equal foot. But it was quite a good foundation esp knowing how competitive my profs and classmates in UST.
Well, because of your legal management course, you have a better understanding of law, its effects and its intent. I am sure that will carry on throughout your law school. And ObliCon is still next sem.
Hi dean , my pre-law course is Criminology but I'm a bit interested of corporate Law. Is it irrelevant of my pre-law course that choose to practice someday? I'm your number 1 viewer of your videos dean, hope you enlighten me.
Hello Bushwark! I appreciate your comments. The pre-law course is not irrelevant. It will help you in your selected practice. But if you take criminology, you can do to corporate law
I am currently grade 10 student and I am taking HUMSS as my senior high strand. I am not fan of reading books or learning english before but I am now challenging myself to change. I want to take AB English as my pre-law course to be eloquent in English and build a habit of reading as well as enjoying my college life where my passion and interests really belong. My purpose of becoming a lawyer someday is to become a law professor like you and to produce more lawyers in the future.❤️ Sir, but how to become a law professor? Do I have to study about education courses? I don't have any Idea. Thank you for this video, it really helped me❤️
Hello, Dean! Can you talk about what really a lawyer does in a day? I have been interested in taking up law since I was a child but right now I am having thoughts because I realized I don’t want to stay in the office all day long. Also, how can one join the prosecution? I plan to be a prosecutor since I am really into crimes. Thank you, Dean! More power to you!
Hello, Dean! I know many law students and other UA-camrs have already advised us that there's no such thing as the perfect pre-law, but is it really a 100% okay to choose any college course? I'm a little pressured po with that thought and I can't choose between AB Psychology and AB Political Science but I really want to become a lawyer in the future :(
Hello Juliane. Yes, there is not perfect pre-law course. If you really dead set, take PoliSci. If you feel you need a back up career, take Psych. Good luck!
Hello dean, I'm a graduate of Education major in MAPEH and currently teaching as an English as a Second Language teacher. I'm eager to become a lawyer. Do you have any advice sir? Am I qualified? What are my advantages and disadvantages? What expertise or practice am I going to exercise after I passed the Bar? Thank you Dean. God bless.
Wanting to be a lawyer is already a great advantage. Having a good command of English is also an advantage. You are definitely qualified. As far as practice, having English as a degree, you can become a judge. Good luck!
I think, nay, I know that is an excellent course. You will have a good command of the language and you will be able to understand the nuances of legalese (which everyone fears)
That's a good question. The pros is that you will be able to argue using skills you learned in college. History majors I believe can relate to both what is in the past and relate to them what is in the present. Legal arguments sometimes use past jurisprudence to bolster their side. As for the cons - maybe you will have a hard time in taxation (but that's everybody..... except CPAs)
dean, i’m taking humss po. if i’ll be taking law for sure, yung pre-law course of choice ko is ab literature. need po ba mag summer class before law school if yun yung pre-law course? & ano po yung best pre-law course for job opportunities na pasok sa humss? incase po na ‘di ako matuloy sa pagiging abogado.
Hi Dean! I’m currently a grade 12 STEM student and planning to pursue law in the future. I am really not satisfied in the STEM field since I really don’t enjoy it, but chose it anyways since one of my options was to be in the medical field. But since high school, the discipline that I am proficient with was Social Sciences and Philosophy. So I am planning to take up a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Social Studies degree and hopefully, if given the chance to get a Minor in English (practically to satisfy the required English Units). What are your thoughts po?
Hello, dean! I'm still confused as to what pre-law I should take. I've been thinking between Philo or Psych. What are the pros and cons of both? What are my other job opportunities too? Or what could I gain from both when taking law already? Thank you!
If its job opportunities after a course you will select, Psych is a better bet. If you are taking law for sure, I would go with Philo. But it is best to talk it over with your guidance counselor and your parents.
I think Philosophy is an excellent course. Critical thinking and logical arguments are key in interpreting laws. Criminal laws are based on human nature and human relations. You will be able to understand both
Hello Dean! How 'bout Psychology po? Bachelor in science or Bachelor in arts psychology? I will soon graduate and become a college freshman but I'm still having difficult time in choosing my pre law course: •Psychology(Ab, Bs) •Literature •philosophy The dilemma that I am experiencing right now is philosophy and psychology differences, comparison, effiency. Actually, I can surely excel in any of those courses but I have to pick 1. Psychology, I believe, can build up my mental structure for I will need it in law school but, I really don't know Dean... Philo? Psycho? Lit? Pls help :(
If you really want to be a lawyer, get Lit. If you want that something to fall back on, I would go with Psych as it can give you more employment opportunities.
Hi Dean, maganda araw po. Can I be a public defender/prosecutor kahit Accountancy po ite-take ko sa college? God Bless po and more power. Stay healthy!
Of course! Just this week, I helped counsel a client who had an employee embezzle money. When that case is filed in court, I will more comfortable if the prosecutor had an accounting background. Also, tax evasion cases are handled by public prosecutors. Accounting knowledge will give them an edge
Good day! I'm about to take BS psychology as my pre law but because I didn't qualified in BS Psychology in my dream state university. Now I am planning to take Philosophy or Bachelor of Public administration. what are the pros and cons of the two po ba? Thanks and may God bless your yt channel. ❤️
Hi, Dean. I just want to know and I'm really confuse on what college course I must pursue. I'm thinking of three choices which are Philosophy, English Literature, and PolSci. Dean, what should I choose among these three choices. I thank you, Dean, in advance for answering this question.
Ok, since you have decided you want to be a lawyer, I would suggest English Literature. But it will become a true commitment to finish law school. If you want a back up plan degree, among your choices, take PoliSci. That will give you better options.
Hello Dean! Is English Language Studies also a good course aside from English Literature Studies? I'm quite confused with their distinction and what do you think are the pros and cons of these two courses? Thank you!
hello dean!! I'm currently an incoming shs student and the strand I've been choosing from is stem/abm. I am planning to pursue either legal management as my prelaw course but at the same time, I am doubtful. I'm also interested in international law as well but lately, I've been checking out medical malpractice law. I still have a long way to go and I'm really overwhelmed with these broad variety of choices. do you have any tips in figuring out what I really want??
Hi, Dean! I am an upcoming STEM student. I want to ask if what do you recommend for me to take as a pre-law course that is somehow related to STEM and that will help me in developing my skills? I'm just afraid that if I take unrelated course then it might be hard for me to adjust. Thank you!
Hello po! so far wala po akong naririnig na Economics as a pre law, my parents want me to pursue accounting since mas "sikat" daw na pre law and limited job opportunities lang daw po sa Econ. What are your thoughts po? and what are the pros and cons
Hello Kassandra. It's tough go against your parents. But as far as economics, the opportunities are not limited. you can be a financial analyst or if you want to work for the government, you can work for NEDA or the Dept of Budget

hello dean,im a current grade11 HUMMS student,1 year ahead to college and im still planning and thinking if what kind of course will i pursue in college, wether PolSci or AB ENGLISH LANGUAGE STUDIES but my teachers advice me to take AB SECONDARY ENGLISH IN EDUCATION because of what they've seen on me in argumentative and reports,on those 3 options, what should i take as my pre-law course dean, thank you in advance sir.
Hi dean! I'm currently a graduating ABM student pursuing Legal Management as my pre-law course. I read several posts today regarding the course and how it guarantees very few job opportunities; as a result, I found it discouraging since I may or may not proceed to law school. However, I am passionate about pursuing law. It is the finances I am only worried about. In the event that I do not proceed to law, would this course be a good safety net in terms of job opportunities? More power to you, dean!
Good day, Dean! I'm currently considering being a corporate lawyer in the future. I am just curious if a BS in Tourism Management could help me prepare for law school since it is also something I am passionate about aside from law. Also, is it true that BSBA in Business Economics counts as a great pre-law course? I have read online that it sharpens the students' critical and analytical thinking skills which are major advantages in law school. What are your thoughts about it po? Hope you'll notice this comment. Thank you po.
Hi Shaila! I did notice your comment. Yes, critical and analytical thinking are skills that will work great in law school. But passion and hard work are also advantage. Pursue your passion. If Tourism is something you are interest in, you will perform well in college. You can go to law school anytime after college. Be passionate about yourself first.
Hi Dean, I graduated double major in Bus. Mgt. & Nursing. Currently, I practice real estate as a broker since 2005, which has law aspects in practice. I've been thinking of going to law school. I heard some schools are so loaded that full time studying is a must. I like to study & work at the same time. What is a good school that you can recommend? Thank you Dean in advance.
Law school is very tough and demanding. I would go where you live the nearest. I know location is a non-factor when classes are online but when the regular classes come back, then commuting time will be a factor.
Hello po, Dean Rod Vera! 😊 I'm currently taking up BA Behavioral Sciences and I plan to get into Law School. I would like to get some recommendations on the subjects I should take in my undergraduate studies so I, or students like me can have an advantage and prior knowledge on the things that will be discussed in law school😊 thank you Dean! Follow up question, do you have recommendations on under which university should we take up law? If so, which are these universities and why? 😊 Thank you very much, Dean Rod Vera!
1. Take up some law subject, particularly constitutional law. Maybe also Labor and Obligations and Contracts. 2. I would apply to the big three and those closest to you in terms of traveling time.
Hello Dean! I'm currently taking my undergrad in Communication, what do you think are my edges when I enter in law school soon after I finish my pre law? Thank you in advance, Dean!
You will have skills in understanding the written word which all laws are. You will also be able understand human relations which is 80% of the law, Civil Code, Family law and Criminal law

hello po dean! i’m still in shs and have been thinking if my college course (hopefully to be taken in upd), and my top choice is ab sociology, but i’m worried about the units i wont be able to take within the course. since i’m aiming to become a prosecutor, is ab sociology a good fit? other courses i’ve been thinking of is ab psychology (for “back up”) and ab english literature or ab philosophy (just to have the fitting degree). any advice po? thank you so much!
Sociology would be a good fit as a prosecutor. A prosecutor does preliminary investigations prior to a criminal case being filed in the court. If they had your education, they would be better equipped and use human behaviour.
hello dean! i'm choosing between legal management, political science, and journalism po. what do you think would be the best pre-law course and what are the pros and cons po? thank you po!
Hi po! I'm a Grade 12 student taking up Humanities and Social Sciences strand. I'm planning on choosing BA Legal Management as my pre-law course (Sa BulSU ko po balak, under College of Criminal Justice Education yung LegMa nila so major po yung Law subjects and minor lang yung Management subjects.) Then I'll probably take the Professional Civil Service Examination to increase my job opportunities. What do you think about my plan po?
Hello dean! How about a major in agriculture sir? Quoting what you said about choosing a pre law major that I will enjoy learning, I've always had interest and love in plants and the business I can make out of it. So does agriculture have those units that you mentioned needed for law school? Hope you can notice this question, sir. Would be such a great help because as a senior high student I have been confused whether to pursue Agriculture or Pol Sci for college.
Hello sir, I'm actually deciding if I should pursue law school. I will take economics as a pre law course and I don't know what type of law should I go into after I graduate. Like should I go with corporate law or litigation and more.
Same. I took HUMSS as my strand but I'm planning to take on Bachelor of Arts in economics, since it was much more recommendable for an HUMSS student. I wanted to puruse law but I was still wondering if what kind of lawyer would be suitable for me. I'm currently struggling on that decision as of now. I also wanted to thank the Dean for giving information that no one else gave but him here in UA-cam. It really made much more sense and much more coherent.
@@yrm3745 hi I'm sure you will soon know what kind of law you are going with. Currently i have 3 choices, corporate law, litigation, and legal. You can watch Tina Amador-Robles vlog to have more knowledge about being a lawyer. She helped me a lot.
Hi, Dean Vera. I am currently enrolled in Ceramics Eng'g at MSU-IIT yet I am planning to shift to a soft science program. My options are Socio and Psych. ELS is also included but not that prioritized. If I am to go to law school after finishing my degree and is up for a job at the same time, what pre law is advisable in my case? Thank you, Dean.

I am really inclined in pursuing a career in the field of business prior to entering law school. Thank you for your response.
Hello Joe. If you intend to enter into business prior to law school, I would suggest the marketing course. Unless you want to put a customs brokerage or placement company prior to law school, I would recommend marketing
Hello po Dean☺️my comment is quite a bit late but I'll be praying na mababasa niyo po ito🙏🙏 I knew you'd be the best person to approach and so, I wanted to ask sir if pwede po bang makapasok sa law school ang isang graduate ng Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program? Or kailangan pa po bang magtake ulit ng Bachelor's degree para makaproceed po sa law school? With such situation po, if I'm a DVM graduate, what's the best thing to do if I'm also planning on pursuing law po? But upon seeing your contents in here I hoped that you'll enlighten my mind on this matter. I've come and gathered my courage to ask you some of my questions. Your response would enormously help me decide as to which path I should take. A feedback/response from you would mean the world to me. Thank you Dean😇
You definitely enter law school with that degree. You can even use that degree to your advantage. You can practice in the medical field or be an advocate for animal rights. Organizations like PAWS and SPCA will welcome you as their lawyer.
good evening dean! complete na po ba yung units ng bs psychology and bs nursing for law school? if not, how long will it take to polish our lacking units? thank you po!
To graduate from law school, there must be college units in English (18), Social Sciences (18) and Math (6). You can apply to law school as long as you are a college graduate. But you have to complete those units before you graduate from law school
Hello Dean! I'm a Grade 10 graduating student and I'm having second thoughts whether I should take HUMSS for my SHS track. I would like to take Psychology as a pre-law course in the future but the difference between BS and BA Psychology is confusing for me. Can you elaborate and tell me some of your thoughts about this dean? Thank you so much in advance!
If you are going to pursue law, any would do. But if you are looking outside of law school, talk to your guidance counselor to see what options are available for those two courses. Hope this helps.
Hello. I am also planning to take Psych. and according to them (I asked someone who's more knowledgeable on Psych.) BA psych is good for prelaw. However, either way, you can still proceed to law school.
If you think you can excel and be comfortable in that course, then pursue it. It will help in law school because court cases are about precedents, which is actually history.
Hello dean! For starters, I really am passionate about history or anthropology as this has been my childhood dream and I think it would be something worthwhile of learning, although I have been told that my career opportunities if I do not enter law school or engage in higher degrees, would be limited. I love public speaking because I know this is one thing that I am good at especially that I know that I am able to hone my confidence in a way that I could project my talent more. I both love these programs and I think I could grow either way. There's really no degree recommended for law school. But you are right Dean, courses that will land you on a job (in case of quitting or not passing the Bar exam) is a practical recommendation for entry to law school (for plan B purposes hehe)

Great observation!
Thanks Sir Dean! I am a graduating SHS student. I am looking forward for the best pre-law for me.
I hope you pursue your dream to become a lawyer.
You are very welcome Adrienne. I wish you the best of luck
Thank you, Dean! I'm currently talking Bachelor of Education Major in English and I thought it isn't aligned with my dream to become a lawyer. I was already losing hope. Thank you very much.
Never lose hope. You have an excellent degree in my view
We have the same course ^_^
Wow you are so cool dean. I immediately subscribed because you’re very patient in answering questions. Godbless po.
Thank you so much!
I’ve been searching for this kind of video! 💖
Glad it was helpful!
Dean.
You have the best course in my opinion. Thanks for the view and comment.

Hello po dean! I’m contemplating whether to take engineering or accountancy as my pre law. Can you please share some pros and cons of those 2 courses when I plan to pursue Law school later on. Thank you dean! very much appreciated your vids po.
Ok, here we go:
Engineering:
Pro - you can practice patent law. Very lucrative payouts. US law firms pay about $180K annually as a starting salary!
Cons - Too rigid in formula and concepts. Law is about interpreting words and not too much on data unless you are in patent law 😎
Accounting:
Pro - You can practice tax law. Very few lawyers go into tax law which means you have little competition to look for jobs or clients
Cons - Tax, no one likes tax.
@@TheDeanLawChannel thank you po dean! Very helpful advice po.
The pros:
1. You will definitely have prior knowledge (at least for freshman year) on the laws that is taken up in law school
2. If the law subjects are taught by lawyers, they might teach the way they do in law school, so you will have a taste in that.
3. Law schools won't question your degree and wonder why you went to law school.
Cons:
1. The job market is indeed thin if you don't go to law school.
2. Law professors might have higher expectations on you to perform better in class.
Hope this helps.
Currently taking BS Economics, and planning to enter Law School while working as an Economist.
That's a great course. Go for it
Hi dean! I am a CPA, graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Is it really a good course for aspiring lawyers? Can I do it? Since we are trained to analyze rather than memorize. I think I will have a hard time memorizing provisions :(
Anyway, nice video ❤️

Good day, Sir Dean! I want to take up BA History as a pre law course. Is it a good stepping stone? And what are the pros and cons to this?
That's a good question. The pros is that you will be able to argue using skills you learned in college. History majors I believe can relate to both what is in the past and relate to them what is in the present. Legal arguments sometimes use past jurisprudence to bolster their side. As for the cons - maybe you will have a hard time in taxation (but that's everybody..... except CPAs)

Hi Shaila! I did notice your comment. Yes, critical and analytical thinking are skills that will work great in law school. But passion and hard work are also advantage. Pursue your passion. If Tourism is something you are interest in, you will perform well in college. You can go to law school anytime after college. Be passionate about yourself first.

Take agriculture by all means.... You will qualify for law school.
@@TheDeanLawChannel Thank you Dean! This means a lot to me.
@@incognito5827 You are very welcome
An Economics degree will definite but in a better position to practice corporate law. More so for special projects in corp law. Good luck Ericaaa
Given the scenario as stated, I would go for Psych. If law school is not available, that would give you flexibility in the job market.
hello dean tnx for wonderful video im a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation i just want to study Maritime law hope i can get you some tips and advice thank's
Maritime law is a very lucrative practice. I have several tips in my video library.
Good Thing I took Financial Management as my pre-law course... Thanks, Dean!!!
Excellent! Thanks for the view and comment.
Greetings, Dean Vera
In a few months, I'll be graduating from SHS, here are my top 3 undergrad courses.
- Customs Administration
- BSBA Major in Human Resource
- BSBA Major in Marketing
What are your thoughts? I am really inclined in pursuing a career in the field of business prior to entering law school. Thank you for your response.
Hello Joe. If you intend to enter into business prior to law school, I would suggest the marketing course. Unless you want to put a customs brokerage or placement company prior to law school, I would recommend marketing
Thank you for the response, Dean Vera. God Bless.
Good day, dean. What do you think is the best law specialization for Philosophy graduates?
Judiciary. They always do logical reasoning when the write a decision.
Hello po Dean☺️my comment is quite a bit late but I'll be praying na mababasa niyo po ito🙏🙏 I knew you'd be the best person to approach and so,
I wanted to ask sir if pwede po bang makapasok sa law school ang isang graduate ng Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program? Or kailangan pa po bang magtake ulit ng Bachelor's degree para makaproceed po sa law school?
With such situation po, if I'm a DVM graduate, what's the best thing to do if I'm also planning on pursuing law po?
I am an incoming college student po and I'm still in a dilemma between pursuing Law or Vet med. I have no Idea about whom I should approach regarding my query.
Organizations like PAWS and SPCA will welcome you as their lawyer.
how about Bachelor of public Administration?
Good degree. You can be a lawyer working for the government
good evening dean! complete na po ba yung units ng bs psychology and bs nursing for law school? if not, how long will it take to polish our lacking units? thank you po!
Godday po Dean, I'm planning to take BS History for my pre-law, will it help po ba? Wanna know your thoughts about it po.
If you think you can excel and be comfortable in that course, then pursue it. It will help in law school because court cases are about precedents, which is actually history.
