one thing you need to learn, for your own health and sanity, you need to learn how to ignore comments like that, talking as a streamer who have to deal with that live. 99% don't understand the rules about doing paid promotions and the consequences if you do without disclosure. Starting you video "yelling" at idiots will scare away new viewers. One video with thumbs down won't ruin your stats with the rate you put out videos. great videos btw
@@OffGridGarageAustralia it gets to us all at some point and it's okay, my channel had tons of videos, but I burned out and had enough, so everything was deleted by me, that was millions of views gone including the toxic comments and I felt a relief from it, just don't want to see you at that point. It's also why is a great idea to add off-days between videos. As a one man band, is easy to burn yourself out because of pressure to produce videos, the comment section and all the other stuff that's included in this UA-cam game
Hi Andy, I watched the previous video, I was very thorough, I have to admit I looked for the "includes paid for content" banner but there was none, so knowing you, I trusted your integrity and knew it wasn't, you were just doing a detailed experience/review, I will add however if you were given the item for free it would be best to let people know this to be completely transparent, as getting something without paying for it can be seen as being a sponsored review as you got something without paying. Just my point of view, I always enjoy your content, and can tell the work you put into them, quite a bit of editing too. All the best from UK 👍
@@OffGridGarageAustralia 👍 (Please read my comment in floating video, i think you will like it and give you another option to top balance, I hope you can comment what do you think about it)
Hey Andy, I didn't watch the Bluetti vid because it wasn't of interest to me (much prefer the DIY approach..) but I def don't think you need to get to worked up about the keyboard warriors, just treat them with the respect the deserve...
@marthale7 you said to block those people and you said pay them no mind, So which is it? Personally I think they should just be ignored, blocking users from further comments is being a big baby.
With these modern supplies, you are supposed to set your constant voltage level with no load and set you constant current level with the leads shorted together. This approach simplifies your setup a little.
I am similar position. I have a couple of diy linear power supplies I built including one from Tafe days. I have been on the lookout for a new switch mode benchtop supply. Thanks for this experience.
In my mind… if you got it for free… then that means you got paid in merchandise instead of cash so at the end of the day you still got paid! Just saying!!
Yes, its not only in your mind its part of the UA-cam agreement. If you get something for free from a company, you have to check a box as a "paid promotion" even tho you dont, or didnt get paid. The product is considered "payment". It also depends on your location.
I watched and enjoyed the video in question, even though I watch your video's for the DIY factor and would never buy a prebuilt system. THANK YOU for your video's and THANK YOU for venting when you need to :)

Hi, whenever I use a PSU to charge batteries I use a 20A Schottky diode in circuit, that will protect your PSU if the one fitted on the output is a bit weedy,
Even I'm not in your country, I always watching your videos, because i am happy 😊 its interesting to me, specially your solar off grid setup... Keep always sharing your knowledge andy, its helps a lot us!! GBU..,🙏🙏
Some of the people that watch youtube ( remember only some ) like to find creators that have shall we say a volatile personality. Lots of the time when someone is intense about a subject they are also volatile. When these people find that channel they pepper it with hate comments to invoke a reaction. A reaction is what they are looking for and which you have supplied. Your real viewers know the difference between a salesmen and a reviewer. Cool off , have a beer and carry on. Take care , we love your channel. P.S. try to keep the rant videos to 5 min and under it plays better.
You going to love that power supply I got one just like it except for it's the 305 which is 30 volts it works great man especially for designing and testing batteries
Hi Andy , don’t let a few people get to you. I really look forward to seeing your videos, they are the first ones I watch, thank you and keep up the great content any humour.
I have had a Bluetti, same one, here in the US for a year now, it's mainly used while boondocking in our travel trailer and I love it. You gave it a glowing review, not because you were sponsored or paid but because it is a great, simple piece of kit, it's plug and play, it does what it says on the box. Your review was great and I agree with all you said. Keep up the good work. ( BTW, Warsteiner is my beer of choice.) ☀️😁👍
Hey Andy, dont worry about the Haters! They are Everywhere!!!! It was a great review PERIOD!!! Side note: A paid review of a free product and a non paid review of a free product are one in the same in UA-cam community guidelines and the box has to be checked for the thingy to show up on everyones screen letting them know its a "paid review". Keep up the Great work you do on this channel!!💥🤘
I got the same bench PSU (different brand) and it worked great for charging my 48v banks. Also for pre-charging the Caps in inverters. I left it charging a leadacid 48v bank, for two days. The voltage setting didn't drift at all.
Ah great to hear, I was wondering about this. My old one drifted a lot when it got warm so I had to adjust the voltage all the time to no overcharge my AGMs.
I would recommend getting a power supply with an enable output button. You don't have to adjust the voltage and current with the load connected. There exists a 60V 5A version with those features.
Andy, don’t let them get to you! Haters will hate. Your a good man and those of us that have watched your channels for a long time know that. Personally I found your review informative even though I am not an Australian consumer.
Those power supplies are cheap and built to the price but they definitely get the job done. I have a few (10) I ordered for the school I teach at for the electronics class and the first thing I had the class do was take them apart and replace the output terminals and also add 10 turn pots to replace the course knobs. We swapped out the volt and amp meters with 5 digit ones. We also beefed up the wire going from the circuit board to the output terminal to prevent voltage drop and they are now really decent units and you would not even be able to tell that they were modified other than by using them since we used green voltmeters and the 10 turn pots making the fine adjustment kinda pointless.
Thanks for sharing. These are good suggestions and I'll look into this. It's not hard to improve these things. Why did you go 5 digit with the meters? Do you need that accuracy?
@@OffGridGarageAustralia It made adjustments easier to see without a meter connected when you upgrade the unit to a 10 turn potentiometer. In the electronics class the students build a lot of circuits that need a fairly accurate voltage reference to help prove that the math works when they are starting out and are new to electronics. It also comes in handy when you need to diagnose voltage or current fluxuations coming from the power input side of the circuit without hooking up an oscilliscope since the 5 digit meters were a bit more sensative to fluctuations.
Excellent work Andy. Ignore the haters! Thank you for your work and efforts, it is extremely appreciated. Iv got the 30V 10A variant of that power supply. Used it to successfully resuscitate/desulphate my 4x 200Ah AGM batteries. Unfortunately the capacity improvement was short lived. Saving up to eventually replace my old crap batteries with 16S 280Ah LiFePO4 😁
I love watching your videos, including that bluetti one, even though other channels have reviewed it I like to see the different opinions and thoughts on the same device. I own a bluetti ac200. Great device but their solar panels suck (have had 2 fail within a few months) Those negative nellies don't have to watch the vidoes, they don't think before they write, just ignore them. Your channel is still my favorite of all.
I had no issue with your Bluetti video, I got the point and didn't think there was any conflict of interest in it. You were equally critical and enthusiastic, so I don't understand the hate you might receive. For charging, I use an iCharge X8 fed from an old telecom PSU which I think is a bit over 60V and 800W.
Andy, I've had two of these units for several years (under a different rebadged brand) in my electronics/robotics workshop (in the UK) - the 30V/10A version. They are cheap but reliable (and I've never heard the fan turn on). They are available next-day in UK from Amazon. I have even used them for a PHEV BMU reset! (Sure you can guess why). Anyway I've been following you from early PHEV voltage drop days-your stuff is always watchable and informative. All the best from broken cloud, slightly warm southern Scotland.
I appreciate and learn a lot from your videos. You inspired me to get going with my own solar garage. I just got 5 430W panels, a 48V battery and I may be getting a 12KW Growatt inverter/controller/charger. Heck I might even make a video about it. Don't mind the poo peddlers. The keyboard commandos have nothing better to do.
Thanks for the feedback and sharing. Wow, that sounds like a great system you're building there. I looked at the Growatt units and they seem to be great!
I found your review of the Bluetti Power Station useful. Most of the other reviews are of the Bluetti under a 100-120V AC 60Hz load. On paper the max efficiency (>70 load) is 88% (110-120Vac) and 90% (220-240Vac). A real-world review of how the product actually performs under higher voltage at 50Hz was helpful. I've been waiting for a local review of this product for some time. Thank you.
Thumbs up for your videos. I have one similar DC power supply but for range 0-30V and 0-10A. It's a very basic power supply and yes the adjustment of volt and ampere is a bit of a little hassle. The most negative issue I have with the power supply is that the display or the build in voltmeter is not reliable. I get different values (Volt) from DC power supply and my new UNI-T multimeter measuring instrument.
Thank you. I checked both volats and amps a few times and they seemed to match with the Uni-T. Had the PSU running for over 1h yesterday and chargig the big battery and also no voltage drift even the fan came on and cooled. Seems to be good so far.
Hi Andy, please keep up the nice work and ignore poorly behaved people. I think it's much better to get a RD6012 or RD6018 and 2-3 used 450w HP server PSU (series to make 27-40VDC) to build as a power supply or charger. Far more usable and reliable than cheaply made staff. Just like don't charge the $1000 mobile with a dollar shop charger. Cheers from WA
Thank you, all good 😉 I looked in to the RD60XX versions but I dodn't want to buy a separate PS and then put this all in a case. I also don't wanted to press buttons and change settiings just for a wuick test. I wanted a quicky and easy solution for quickly testing electronics and batteries.
I enjoy watching all of your videos. It's a shame some people don't just appreciate what content creators do. Glad you got to vent. Hopefully you just ignore future ignorant comments and don't let the small minority upset you.
Andy don't worry about what they say I enjoy watching your video's I am in South Africa and think they are great and extremely interesting and thank you once again
Interestingly many of those power supplies with dual (Course and Fine) knobs, have a different adjustment range for the Fine depending on the setting for the Course knob. So if the Course is set at 5v, then the Fine may adjust 0.25v. But if the course is set at 60v, you may find the Fine has a 1v range. I have a 30v 30A bench supply, and it has a 10 turn pot for the voltage. It's really good to use as opposed to the Course/Fine setting on the one I have like yours. These are the best types of supply to do testing of specific settings for a BMS.
I ran across your video while researching a power supply for small electronics projects and thought I'd send what I ended up getting because you seem excited by what you have :) Google Miniware power supply. It is a 300W 0-30v, 10A supply, but the kicker is it is about the size of a deck of playing cards, lol. Powered by USB PD or DC voltage. A bit spendy, but so far, it is fantastic! I've been reviving batteries all morning :). (Not trying to shill, but I am really impressed by their stuff)
Dramatically fantastic video, dc power supply is excellent way to check and charge batteries, I am an electronic amateur and prefer to use dc power supply than other chargers. Thanks again. Greetings from Saudi Arabia.
On a bench power supply I really like the ones with an output enable/disable switch separate from the power switch. Adjusting that new one seems quite annoying.
I love your videos dont change. I love your reviews & your content its also about solar and batteries :) have an awesome day sorry replied before the end I am sure its as awesome as all your videos
I have a couple of identically looking power supplies I got from Amazon. They apparently just make a custom label for other companies, mine says "Eventek". Mine are model KPS3010D 0-30V 0-10A.
Hi Andy, that power supply is just what I need, too replace my home built supply that is now 37 year young and how has a few faults so for the price delivered to Australia that sounds like a good buy. I think a pull down video of the bench power supply would be of great ...
I have a very similar (60V, 5A) power supply, but mine is TopPower branded here in the U.K. Looks the same as yours, and a similar price too. Whilst it will do just over 60V, and just over 5A, it won’t do both at the same time. I occasionally use mine to test Victron MPPT charge controllers (simulating a solar panel output, especially if working at night) and the limit really is 300w, and not a watt more. It shuts down if over that combined V/A limit. Great bit of kit IMO. Ignore the trolls, they need to learn that there is an off button and alternative content that meets their narrow minded opinions. An opinion is just that, and yours has been shown over time to be fair and reasonable.
Thank you Ian. I found the same with mine yesterday when charging tha battery. If I go to high with the amps at 60V it lilits the power output. It was runnig stable at 4.35A though. That's good eneough for me. I didn't know you can test MPPTs with that. I was always under the impression they don't like to be connected to a power supply as they cannot track a max power point.
@@OffGridGarageAustralia Thanks for the reply. I too was initially sceptical about using the power supply as an input to an MPPT solar charge controller; and whilst it does wildly swing the voltage and current on first powering things up, it soon settles down to alternating between constant voltage and constant current a few times per second with minimal changes in each of the values - it’s actually an interesting insight into how the MPPT “seeks out” the best power point with a “constant” input from a bench power supply. Sadly a lot of my solar experimenting takes place in the evenings, so by the time I get to play there is no sun left on my panels, hence discovering this alternate use for a bench power supply.
061921/1403h PST 🇺🇸/ 062021/0720h Brisbane 🇦🇺. Good day, Andy. Thanks for the demo on WANPTEK 60V05A PSU. I found them to be simple, light weight and small foot print unit with greater working environment. I had WANPTEK 30V10A for few years, until I murdered it by connecting to opposite polarity. The glass fuse didn’t blow, but shorted the MOSFETs. I will work on it. Then I got WANPTEK DPS30-10U. That unit is even better than the previous one. There are several variants of this PSU. Please view them. 90 days for the shipment delivery? Err no comments. Now a lil bit of sentiments: People talk, people also make illogical comments and decisions, on others. The Fine controls appear to have a range of around 10% of where the Coarse control is set. Australia isn't the only place with slow delivery. I have a package coming from one of Banggood's US warehouses. It left that warehouse (at least got a departure scan) 11 days ago and the US Postal Service is still waiting for the package.
Yep, the fine knob's range is changing depending on what voltage or amps you have set with the coarse knob. Makes sense. It's not too bad once you get used to it.
Great video! I've enjoyed watching and learning for some time. I have a similar 60V/5A ps. ($90 on Amazon) and yep, its tiny just like yours. If I may though...my understanding was, you first set the Amps by powering up and shorting the leads, then dial in your target Amps while the volts are turned low(3-5V) then turn off the unit, un-short, then turn on and ramp up to your desired volts, then attach your load. (In this case a batt) I'm remembering somewhere that said once you set your target V and A, it's not a good idea to adjust the Amps while the load (batt) is attached. I may be remembering it wrong, but I recall it was a big no no, especially for battery charging. I humbly stand corrected if in fact, this is mis-information and a non issue. Again, love watching and learning along with you!
they are called trolls for a reason.....and to expect reason from them is useless. as for the rest of us keep doing what you do Andy that is why we watch.
Yes, there is some good stuff out there, just need to conenct your own power supply and put it in a nice case. I went down the path of just buying one this time. It works well so far.
Fair and honest information keep up the good work and do your own thing.there are always nay sayers that's why they have different. Channels I personally love your information and hanging out in the garage with you thumbs ☝
I prefer the Riden RD6012 bench power supply. 0 to 60v and 0 to 12A and with its digital interface it's far more accurate to set, can also be controlled from your computer as well
I had this in my shopping basket first. I would need a power supply for it though (unless I buy a full sized unit). Also, I wanted something quick to setup and easy to operate without haveing to push some buttons first. I may get it in the future stage though as I like the USB connection...
I 2nd this power supply! I have 2x of the 18A version and one of the 12A version. You do need a separate power supply... I did buy the kit which it really nice!
HAHA love it I will just wait 10 seconds for you to turn off now. Andy, more SPAT, Keep up the good work I for one have subscribed and enjoy your vids and sense of humor. Rather change the Banana jack that cut the part on the power supply?
I have a quite similar model. Unfortunately I selected the 30V 10A model. In hindsight I should have selected the 60V 5A model as you did. And btw.: Friends 🍺🤜🤛
Hey Andy, an American here. I want to start by saying that this is my favorite UA-cam channel and is the only video that I wait for and am disappointed when there isn't a new one to watch. So there's that. Don't let the keyboard cowboys get you down. I'd say there are a ton more fans out here than not. I have a product similar to the Bluetti but have I've only tested it but haven't used it. It's not near as powerful though. 62Ah, I think. I bought it for hurricane season. Remember that this criticism is coming from a fan. In the future, I'd suggest that you say up front that you got a product for free. I don't think you did with the Bluetti. I don't ever remember hearing that disclaimer. That would probably solve your problem. If it doesn't, they can't say you weren't honest. I believe you are an honest guy that enjoys putting out video as much as I enjoy watching them. So I never thought you had any ulterior motive other than putting out great videos. Keep up the good work and don't let them get you down. One more thing. The comments seem to be saying the P/S is not very good. Maybe a company will offer a very good one for review. Hahahahahahahahaha!
Thanks a lot, Porter. I've updated the Bluetti video by now and marked is a 'commercial video', so that's that out of the way. Thanks for your kind comment here, really appreciate that sort of constructive feedback. I wouldn't say no, to a high spec power supply to check out 😂😂😂

Hey, nice video. I was wondering if you have an idea for my situation. I have a shop where I do electrical work on vehicles. Now from time to time the vehicle battery will drain because I work on it for more than a day or so. So I'm looking for a 12v power supply where I can hook up the vehicle so they never drain while working on them. I might as well use some of the power supply to power some probetesters around the shop. Since it's all under the same circuit. I'm not looking though to set rules each and every time I hook up the vehicle. I want it to be a quick thing. On & off. Technically I'm not even charging the battery I'm just maintaining a 12 volt flow. Please let me know if you have any ideas what I can do. Thanks 🙏🏻
Ignore the trolls Andy, If you don't feed them they will go elsewhere for food lol. I have seen the Buetti before but until your video did not know they were now available in Australia and since going to check it out i am now aware of the sunpower foldout solar panels they have which look pretty decent.
Dear Andy can you test the power supply for radio interference if you have 5 min time😊,I am radio amateur and want to buy the same smps,do the test with a simple transistor portable radio.
@@OffGridGarageAustralia just take the little radio near the smps and put it on medium wave, much off the solar gear makes very much radio noise and is very anoing for radio amateur stations.greetings from Belgium Andy, stefaan.
Don’t worry bout the haters. I watch cos I think I might learn something. Would love for a few drop replacement companies to pay you to review some batteries. Voltax, Enercore, Itechworld.
Hi Andy, what is the shipping methods available to you in Australia from China? I am only getting FedEx(153.82USD) & DHL(237.66USD) for my country Mauritius, guess this is because of the Covid-19 situation and the only way for the Chinese to get things reliably delivered. But its nearly twice or thrice the price of the item, or even more! As usual a pleasure watching your videos and learning stuff.
Why is 0.2C the ideal charging current for Li-Ion? Last I heard it was 0.8C. Furthermore, how do you know each battery is at its optimal "fully charged" level if you just leave it on the supply like that? You wait for the current to go to 0? Somehow I suspect that can lead to overcharging and faster aging/deterioration of the battery. And what happens with the current-optimized charging methods in specialized chargers that start a certain ramp-down curve after 70-80% (at least for Li-Ion)? Aren't you again degrading the battery faster than optimal by just giving it a constant current (until it drops off on its own)?
I didn't watch the Bluetti video because I have already been it in other videos and it's not for me! The Lab Power Supply though, I have a 30V 10A model which can't deliver 10A at 30V! I have looked at high voltage Power Supplies but I don't want to get one that can't deliver the full 5A at 60V. I would have liked to see if your one can do it? I have seen some that can...
Thanks, Peter. Didn't I show this i the video? Or maybe it was i the next video coming soon. Mine can handle 61.5V and 5.15A. Had it running for over 1h yesterday and charged the big battery with it. Fan comes on to cool and no voltage drift even under full power.
@@OffGridGarageAustralia that's excellent! Mine has a proper transformer in it but struggles to deliver maximum power! You can have one or the other but not both, your one looks like it's powered by a Switch Mode Power Supply, it looked like it was pretty light weight in the video! But it's great to know that full power can be delivered... I need two of them to get +-60V rail's to power amplifiers under development... 10A total between two would have been better if they were 10A each or more but for the money, can't really complain, no one listens LoL.
In my Honest (and Humble) Opinion (IMHO) a decent variable DC power supply is a must for anyone who is going to work with Batteries of any kind for essential power.
Looks like a decent power supply. I've had a 0-30V, 0-10A for a few years now and recently bought a 0-60V,0-5A also now that I'm occasionally playing with 48V setups. It's a different brand, but the banana plugs are a weak point on it too.
Yeah, I looked at this, you need your own power supply and put this all in a case and also I wanted something simple without any buttons to press. Just need a quick setup to test something and that's it...
@@OffGridGarageAustralia maybe yes but you have 10 memory button in that and it is just press button. Or have korb... i go same way as you and now have 2 extra power supply (one 60v 30a SO BIG & HEAVY). Now using mostly... rd6018...
I’m surprised a tinkerer like you didn’t have one of those a long time ago. Great for finding out how much a coil draws at what voltage, when it latches and when it drops. So many things! Cheers

I like your channel that's why I am watching I find it very interesting thank you Andy👍
Thank you both.
100% with you. We need respect each other. And have more confidence also.
Thanks. Exactly be nice to reach other.
Give em hell. They deserve it. Love your efforts. Keep up the great work.
I am similar position. I have a couple of diy linear power supplies I built including one from Tafe days. I have been on the lookout for a new switch mode benchtop supply. Thanks for this experience.
Thanks, Jason! Always appreciate your comments.
Don't let the trolls get to you they're only here for entertainment for your loyal viewers 👍🙄😁🤪
I have upgraded the Bluetti video now as per UA-cam standards. Thanks for pointing this out.
From Wichita Kansas, I thoroughly enjoy your videos!!! Thanks for your channel.
Thank you very much, John. I appreciate your feedback!
I watched and enjoyed the video in question, even though I watch your video's for the DIY factor and would never buy a prebuilt system. THANK YOU for your video's and THANK YOU for venting when you need to :)
061921/1443h PST 🇺🇸 Appreciate your sentiments. There’s immense amount of satisfaction and pride when a functional device is built by self and enjoys the result. Thanks and 73s…

Thank you Greg.
GBU..,🙏🙏

Some of the people that watch youtube ( remember only some ) like to find creators that have shall we say a volatile
personality. Lots of the time when someone is intense about a subject they are also volatile. When these people find
that channel they pepper it with hate comments to invoke a reaction. A reaction is what they are looking for and which
you have supplied. Your real viewers know the difference between a salesmen and a reviewer. Cool off , have a beer
and carry on. Take care , we love your channel. P.S. try to keep the rant videos to 5 min and under it plays better.
Had a 🍺. It helped 😊
As a very wise you-tuber once said, 'haters will haters, easy to say but sometimes hard to ignore, thanks for sharing!
I am not fond of autocorrect, 'haters will hate'
Thanks, it's hard to ignore sometimes.
Nice. I bought the same toy. Very convenient
You going to love that power supply I got one just like it except for it's the 305 which is 30 volts it works great man especially for designing and testing batteries
Had it running for 1h yesterday on 60V and 5A and charged the battery. The fan turned on and off as it should and it worked great!
Hi Andy , don’t let a few people get to you. I really look forward to seeing your videos, they are the first ones I watch, thank you and keep up the great content any humour.
Thankyou very much William! Appreciate your feedback 😃
lovin the sound effects buddy i cacked my self
Just what i was looking for to learn about my NEW supply too !!! THANKS ANDY !!!
Thank you for your feedback, Jonathan.
Warsteiner or a very nice beer. Not even sure if we can get this down here...
You are so clever Andy. I hope your wife appreciates you as much as we do.
Thanks... haven't seen her for a while. I should go inside more often... 😂
Thanks Joe. Appreciate your feedback. I have now updated the video accordingly to the UA-cam regulations.
@@OffGridGarageAustralia Just looking out for #1!💥🤘
I got the same bench PSU (different brand) and it worked great for charging my 48v banks.
Andy … I love and appreciate your videos…. You candid approach to the haters had me chuckling away …. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍😁
Hahaha, had to let off soem steam 🍺 Thank you.
I would recommend getting a power supply with an enable output button. You don't have to adjust the voltage and current with the load connected.
There exists a 60V 5A version with those features.
Often these units allow shorting the wires to set the current, before applying to load
Andy, don’t let them get to you! Haters will hate. Your a good man and those of us that have watched your channels for a long time know that. Personally I found your review informative even though I am not an Australian consumer.
Thanks Harry, much appreciated!
Thank you.
I love watching your videos, including that bluetti one, even though other channels have reviewed it I like to see the different opinions and
thoughts on the same device. I own a bluetti ac200. Great device but their solar panels suck (have had 2 fail within a few months) Those negative nellies don't have to watch the vidoes, they don't think before they write, just ignore them.
Your channel is still my favorite of all.
Thank you very much!
Thank you for the review.
You're most welcome.
Thanks Bob, much appreciated!
Yes, the iCharge is on my list of devices I want to check out in the future.
Bro. Don’t worries about people who are say. Your video making good and very good ideas 👍🏻
Thank, Michael!
Thanks for sharing, Jonathon. That's good to know.
The PHEV battery reset feature... The good old days 😉
Thank you.
Thank you very much Mark. Appreciate your feedback and comment!
hi andy, just ignore those keyboard warrior , your video is full of knowledge sharing and fun, thank you andy
Thank you very much!
Thank you, all good 😉
I looked in to the RD60XX versions but I dodn't want to buy a separate PS and then put this all in a case.
Thank you Sean. All good and under control again 😊🍺
As I remember me to my first DC power supply in the 70s, 2x 30V 6A, heavy device 20kg .....
Yep, mine was like 8kg and could only deliver 2A max. Big transformer inside. This one, 5 times the power and weighs nothing 😃
Andy don't worry about what they say I enjoy watching your video's I am in South Africa and think they are great and extremely interesting and thank you once again

@@vickipps6821 I did!
How do you know the correct Voltage/Current for the different batteries/battery technologies? I have the same power supply.
Thanks Paul. Yeah, this one adjusted as well depending on the voltage. I found this out last night 😉
I ran across your video while researching a power supply for small electronics projects and thought I'd send what I ended up getting because you seem excited by what you have :)
Google Miniware power supply.
Thanks for sharing. I will have a look. I'm keen to see if they make a 60V version as well...
Dramatically fantastic video, dc power supply is excellent way to check and charge batteries, I am an electronic amateur and prefer to use dc power supply than other chargers.
Thanks again.
Greetings from Saudi Arabia.
Thank you.

On a bench power supply I really like the ones with an output enable/disable switch separate from the power switch. Adjusting that new one seems quite annoying.
It gets better once you're used to how it works. It's a bit fiddly but not too bad after a few days now.
You go Andy! I love your video's , keep up the good work,

I have a couple of identically looking power supplies I got from Amazon. They apparently just make a custom label for other companies, mine says "Eventek". Mine are model KPS3010D 0-30V 0-10A.
They show up under many brands, same chinese factory making them, I guess.
Hi Andy, that power supply is just what I need, too replace my home built supply that is now 37 year young and how has a few faults so for the price delivered to Australia that sounds like a good buy. I think a pull down video of the bench power supply would be of great ...
Hey, you must have had the same old one I had 😂
Using it for a few days now and it's been great. Exactly what I needed...
Andy, das war ein tolles Video . Lass dich nicht ärgern
Danke Dir. Alles gut, machmal muss man mal Dampf ablassen 😉
Now a lil bit of sentiments:

Thank you Tyler. The usability of the power supply get better over time once you get the hang of it and leran how it works. I really like it.
Hey just ignore the I love you job and am slowly learn about Lithium batteries so that my next battery bank can be lithium
they are called trolls for a reason.....and to expect reason from them is useless. as for the rest of us keep doing what you do Andy that is why we watch.
Thanks heaps Arnold
There are some good variable PSU buck/boost modules available, eg ZK-4KX, working off up to 30v DC, 3 to 4 Amp. Cost around 11 AUD or $8.25.
Yes, there is some good stuff out there, just need to conenct your own power supply and put it in a nice case. I went down the path of just buying one this time. It works well so far.

I did buy the kit which it really nice!
don't worry what they say, just continue as usual

HAHA love it I will just wait 10 seconds for you to turn off now. Andy, more SPAT, Keep up the good work I for one have subscribed and enjoy your vids and sense of humor. Rather change the Banana jack that cut the part on the power supply?
I have a quite similar model. Unfortunately I selected the 30V 10A model. In hindsight I should have selected the 60V 5A model as you did.
And btw.: Friends 🍺🤜🤛
Thank you! 🍺
I would have bought a 60V and 10A but as you said, it's 30V and 10A or 60V and 5A, so...

Thanks 🙏🏻
I've been charging my tool batteries used for electric bikes with a variable DC supply. I wonder if balancing is still employed.
Ignore the trolls Andy, If you don't feed them they will go elsewhere for food lol. I have seen the Buetti before but until your video did not know they were now available in Australia and since going to check it out i am now aware of the sunpower foldout solar panels they have which look pretty decent.
Thank you.
Dear Andy can you test the power supply for radio interference if you have 5 min time😊,I am radio amateur and want to buy the same smps,do the test with a simple transistor portable radio.
How do I do that?
@@OffGridGarageAustralia just take the little radio near the smps and put it on medium wave, much off the solar gear makes very much radio noise and is very anoing for radio amateur stations.greetings from Belgium Andy, stefaan.
please tell more about apprenticeship
What do you wan to know?
Don’t worry bout the haters. I watch cos I think I might learn something. Would love for a few drop replacement companies to pay you to review some batteries. Voltax, Enercore, Itechworld.
I guess, there will be some more reviews in the future. Maybe...
Thank you.
Thank you very much. They use the chinese carriers to ship it to Sydney and then it gets delivered through Australia Post most of the time.
you tell them Andy.
Could you use a resistor between the posts to dissipate the residual voltage and allow your voltage adjustments to be closer to real-time?
You probably could but would have the load of this resistor all the time. It's not too bad after using it for a few days...
Can you measure the efficiency of the power supply when using it to charge a 12V battery at 10A?
The fine buttons must be as a ratio or % of the course?
Keep up the good work Andy. There are trolls everywhere these days I’m afraid.
Calibrate a few more sun aligners and all will be forgotten ;-)
Thank you. Some 🍺 helped 😊
In my Honest (and Humble) Opinion (IMHO) a decent variable DC power supply is a must for anyone who is going to work with Batteries of any kind for essential power.
Absolutely, the old one was just not up to date any more...
Looks like a decent power supply. I've had a 0-30V, 0-10A for a few years now and recently bought a 0-60V,0-5A also now that I'm occasionally playing with 48V setups. It's a different brand, but the banana plugs are a weak point on it too.
You could get RD6018(w?).. i think better option... maybe more costly but not much...
Cheers
I had one, but not as modern as this one. So it was time 😉
