I’ve owned The Lost Battalion movie for 20 years. Very moving. So glad to see the Great War getting more and more recognition.

A classic case of an ordinary man that did something amazing. But was wracked by survivor's guilt as he could have surrendered but was determined to stand his ground. He got the M.O.H. but what happened to his men mattered more.

Hi, Rob! Your last video is great. This one is superb too.
I can't imagine the suffering that the Lost Battalion went through with how water could only be accessible through an area where they could be spotted by German troops and how they were struck by their own artillery units.
Smart of Major Charles Whittlesey used white sheets as signals for planes to spot them.
It's sad that less than 200 men walked back out.
Major Whittlesey was brave and strong as was the rest of the Lost Battalion. I cannot imagine the toll that the battle took on them. :(
I'm sad to hear that he (likely) committed suicide. :( I heard about that before, but it breaks my heart.
And, you make an excellent point about how many people suffered long after the war was over. The effects of the trauma are so long lasting for both civilians and soldiers.
    Great video. Nice work, Rob.
