We always made homemade bread, and my kids demolished the first loaf out of the oven LOL, no waiting till it cooled. As soon as they smelled it cooking, they made sure the butter and honey were out and ready. It was literally "breaking bread" but they loved it. As far as the electric knives go for bread, I personally didn't like it. Plus, it was one more gadget to clutter up my kitchen. My regular bread knife works just as good and doesn't take up more space. We do grilled PB&J (like you would grilled cheese). OMG it takes a regular PB&J to a whole different level of awesome. I am definitely interested in trying the soup over the rice. That would be so warm and good in the cooler months. Great video
Whaaat! Grilled pb&j? Why didn’t we think of this! That sounds so good! We should try it next time! Our kids were the same this time, they wanted to eat the bread right when it was done cooking, ravenous kids! 😆 I’ve found that if you cool it, it slices better if not it does get broken but kids don’t seem to mind ha! Yes try the soup over rice it’s nutritious, filling and just a humble cozy dish!
Now I see a second career for Mercy aside from owning a bakery. I think she should sell her art! I'd buy it! What a wonderful video. I loved it all and thank you so much!
Aww yes both the girls are pretty darn artistic and I’m trying to guide them into drawing more and doing more art! The oldest also has a good eye and sketching hand
Hello my lovely ❤❤. What a beautiful video. Hope you're all well. Everything looked so amazing. Can't beat homemade bread 😊 wow mercy... Those art pieces are absolutely amazing. How talented is she xx
This was a lovely video. Thank you for sharing your stories. I have used an electric knife, an electric slicer, and a serrated knife to slice bread. I like all three, but my favorite has become the serrated knife, especially since I found one on Amazon that is just everything I ever wanted in a serrated knife. It is the Mercer Culinary 10" bread knife.
Hello there and thank you so much for joining us! Very interesting, my serrated knife squishes the bread a bit as it cuts and I don’t like that, plus mine does not cut the bread thin enough. Hmm I want to try the electric one and see how that works out! We’d love to know where you’re from, seems like you’re new to our channel!
Best part of my Sunday morning! I tend to fall back on what I grew up eating. I’ve tweaked my favorites to be plant based and that helped me branch out to make new foods. I do not have an electric bread knife now, but I grew up in a home that had a very well used electric bread knife that mainly came out to cut up the Thanksgiving turkey and other meat! Go figure…
Yes tweaking and modifying a meal to be plant based is the best! Taste of home but still familiar. I’ve seen those turkey cutters before! Looks like they could work for bread too
Hi there! Thank you for watching! I actually made this without really measuring, I go off of intuition and feel. I did make a video before check it out here! HOW TO MAKE BREAD AT HOME - NO PRECISE MEASUREMENTS, EASY & VEGAN - HOME COOKING 101 ua-cam.com/video/T8EHwSVGs08/v-deo.html
Hey pretty girl❤ I eat soup and rice all the time. I have the rice cooker going right now lol. And isn’t coconut milk just the sexiest thing on the grocery store shelf? I get anxious when I am down to my last two or three cans. I love the hub of activity in your kitchen. 😊
Hi there Mary! Soup and rice is satisfying, cheap and we’re getting cooler so the more soup we make the more money we save ha! I’m so excited! Oh yes coconut milk ugh it’s just the best, can’t live without it and like yourself I get anxious like wait, you guys used ALL my coconut milk?? 😆
Hello Beth, thank you! We hope you take them as inspiration and try some of the recipes. Trey has an autoimmune condition called dysautonomia which he is recovering from, he sticks very close to the food combinations so what he eats is a bit different. We made a full video on it here including the food combination and lots of resources here: TREATING AUTOIMMUNE WITH PEMF AND PLANT BASED DIET | TREY'S HEALTH JOURNEY + Q&A ua-cam.com/video/A16OwxBCS78/v-deo.html
If you have a good serrated knife to cut your bread, that's all you need. Getting an electric one is just more money to spend on something that is not necessary. I have so many gadgets in my home and after the fact of purchasing them, I tend to go back to the gadgets that don't require me to plug it in somewhere lol.. You could spend that money on something else, trust me lol 🔪🔪🔪🤪🤪
Hi, I'm new to your channel and enjoying your videos. Just wondering, I've noticed your husband seems to always have something different for his meal than you and the kids. Is there a reason or just that he likes different things?
Hello there Ruth and welcome! Trey my husband suffers from an autoimmune condition called dysautonomia and he follows the food combinations very closely. We did full video on it here: ua-cam.com/video/A16OwxBCS78/v-deo.html But essentially yes he eats a bit different because we are more relaxed and we don’t follow the food combinations too strictly but we are still plant based.

@@thehaipath I hope you find the right tool that works best for you. Yes, I found your channel about a month ago. I am from Georgia. 👋
An electric bread knife sounds great. I find it hard to slice thin with a regular bread knife. Loved all your comfort food.
Yes that’s our problem we have now our bread slices are so thick! I’ll have to invest in one of the electric ones and try it out.
Love the art work!
Thank you so much! Time to find some frames and a wall to put them up on!

Beautiful, Mercy!
Thank you Sheena! I’ll have to frame it this week!
, I created a gallery wall of my children’s art. Framing is a great idea!
@sheenacarey3634 that is very cute!! How many kids do you have?

You inspired me to use a sweet potato in my oatmeal tomorrow.
Ooh let us know what you think! That’ll add some texture and flavor to the oatmeal!
Good morning I use a generic electric knife and it works awesome.❤
Hi there Amy! Nice yeah I hate that when we use a manual knife it squishes the bread, there has to be a better way
Your property is beautiful in the huge desert! Is that sunrise?
Yes it was! We are surrounded by mountains and the sunrise in the desert is lovely!

BTW Thrift stores always have electric knives.
Great idea to look there!
All your food always looks so delicious. Why is it that Trey eats differently than the rest of the family?

Hi there friend! Ok we will trust your word and maybe just stick to our serrated knife instead of spending money and space on another gadget! Ha!
