Corruption burned us so badly in Afghanistan and Iraq. Add in the corruption issues in Vietnam and early South Korea, and we in the US are finally realizing how much of a roadblock it can be.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make an official visit to Russia on July 8-9, the Kremlin announced.
Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin "will discuss prospects for further development of traditionally friendly relations between Russia and India as well as pressing international and regional issues," the Kremlin said in a press release.
Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov tod a press briefing that the Kremlin views the visit as a key priority. "Because it will be one of Modi’s first foreign trips - if not the first - after being re-elected," he explained.
A source with ties to the new Indian parliament told TASS that the July 8-9 dates had been decided. Modi’s party won the Indian general election last month.
Modi’s visit to Russia follows closely after he was sworn in for a third consecutive term at the helm of the government. The Indian premier last visited Russia in 2019 when he traveled to Vladivostok in the country’s Far East. And he last visited Moscow in 2015.
Putin and Modi have maintained regular communication. They first met at the sixth BRICS summit in Brazil in July 2014 and have since held talks on the sidelines of the grouping’s meetings and at other venues and they have also talked over the phone. As Russian president, Putin has paid nine visits to India.

Corruption argument a bit of a furphy. There are countries already in NATO that rank similarly on the corruption index, where Hungary and Albania are about on par. That said there is always room for improvement.😮

It's Ukraine who're going to freeze this Winter. They have power cuts already for 8 hours a day in places. Russia has paid them back for attacking theirs, only Putin was kind enough to wait till May when it was warmer. Orban's friends have lots of cheap fuel and a booming economy.

Former Ukrainian tankman Maxim Likhachev, who surrendered to Russia with his T-64 tank, has been granted Russian citizenship, a law enforcement source in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has told TASS.
"Maxim Likhachev received a Russian passport and is now a citizen of the Russian Federation," the source said.
Likhachev, in turn, described it as a "long-awaited document."
Likhachev voluntarily surrendered to Russian troops in late May near Donetsk and hijacked his T-64 tank. The tankman was born in Krasnodon, a town in the Lugansk People’s Republic.

So once again, Ukraine is being told that it is not doing enough (not fighting hard enough, not being grateful enough, not listening to armchair generals in the west enough). I understand that making sure corruption is minimal is important. I do not understand why Ukraine is being judged on levels of corruption from 20-30 years ago.

And Instead Republic Of Cyprus would be taken into Nato.In such a case base in Turkey would be carried to Cyprus. All other military forces would be removed from Cyprus and instead there would be only Nato forces . With such formula Cyprus conflict also will be solved by removals of borders and Re[ublic of Cyprus would be vital throughout whole Cyprus.

I think it's worth mentioning that although which side ultimately benefits is the ultimate question; it is in certain ways just as desirable to China that Russia is terribly weakened and drained as it is for U S long-term geostrategy. If the US and Russia are smart, Russia in its recovery from the Ukraine war will join the western financial and political system, whilst China could be reasonably expected to hope to turn the same weakness to keep Russia in its orbit even more deeply and in an even weaker state.
Russia will never trust the West again. Putin has said so. After they were tricked by Nato who then expanded till they were right in Russia's backyard. They know Nato was out to break Russia up. Poland has admitted it and so have other EU countries, only these last few weeks, that it was their long term plan. Devious warmongers.

@@APW-ry2ok NATO is in Ukraine (undeclared) and not in a peaceful role. 300 active Nato officers died in Lvov not long ago in Russian strikes. U.S. puppet state Ukraine could not strike Russian targets with Nato supplied advanced weapons without direct Nato assistance. Ukraine could not have planned it's 2 and half year military campaign without Nato. Nato has been defeated. Russia won the contest.
