Just replaced my fender using this video. Thanks for the video. It took me about 6 hours to replace the fender. Due to the fact you need to remove the grill and light. I also had to transfer all the hardware from one fender to the other. Patience is all you need.
Awesome , I’m glad to hear that ! Yeah these box fenders can be a pain because it’s an actual structural piece once you remove the fender all the engine bay is exposed and you have to remove everything that’s holding the fender so it can release it
Best video on this topic yet. I'm glad that I searched one last time. This guy is a very effective speaker. The other videos were okay but they didn't appear to be enjoying what they were doing. In most of the other videos that I have watched the mechanics were fighting the bolts, and complaining about how difficult it is to do this on the driver's side of a Silverado. This guy obviously enjoys what he does. I would just say that if you don't enjoy this kind of work then you should consider taking your vehicle to someone who does, or you could end up causing more damage, and costing yourself more money. This kind of work is what some of us live for. We crave it, feed off it, and we almost never give up. Almost because sometimes we pick each other's brain for the experience, and wisdom there in. Sometimes a different set of eyes and ears can make for a more efficient way. Anyway we know who we are so I'll stop now🤪 Thanks for the video
Thank you for your kind words! 🤙 these fenders here can be a pain in the butt, all you need is a little patience and sometimes guidance. It’ll take you a long way…. Thanks for watching
Thank you very much. You just saved me a boatload of money. I can't thank you enough. I had the city back into my fender to destroy it and my headlight assembly and watching your video. Now I have the confidence to know that I can do it myself. Thank you. Thank you so much
Thanks so much for putting this out there. I’m replacing the fender on my Silverado tomorrow. I was a little worried about it but you’ve put my mind at ease.
Is the process the same for passenger side? Tired to follow step by step but no tray just my air intake and battery. Is the bolts I need to get to under all that?
wow! I was looking for guidance on whether to buy a 2018 Chevy silverado that got hit front side... The driver fender was taken off and the headlight and front grille assembly. But the fender was scaring me till I seen you take it off. Has 35,000 miles and there asking $6600 But Im gonna have to come up with some parts... i think it's worth it.
@@AutoWizard94 Yes! Very helpful... I bought the Silverado and Glad I did. Now i got the confidance to put it back together. One saving grace was they had the bumper/fender removed and I thought all the nuts and bolts were missing ..Till I looked in the glove box!! Was that EVER a treat! That plate you removed with the 7 bolts was a mystery but not anymore. It was sitting in the bed but now I know where it belongs. Thank You!
Once you remove fender and are replacing it with an after market fender what will you have to take off original fender and put on new fender. The liner has to come off and there is a bracket with two bolts. I have the bracket but do not remember how it bolts on the fender
Thanks for the great video, I need to remove my 2011 Tahoe passenger side fender to troubleshoot / fix a rain water leak. I see that the wheel well coming along with fender as one piece, that simplifies a bit. Is removing front bumper and grill required before fender removal? thanks
Too fast poorly explained when you say remove this bolt,it would be nice to identify the bold as being a fender bolt or a brace bolt sorry this is just ment to help you make a more professional clip
Nice bro thanks for this comment , I'm still working the kinks out but bare with me this is my actual job and I work commission so everything needs speediness , I really appreciate the constructive criticism not just the shit talking people do ... I will do my best to improve on this 🙌 thank you !
Thanks man, we body techs greatly appreciate short, and to the point videos like these.
No problem!

Did you have to remove the bumper too?
I loved this video. It was a very clear picture and explained very well. A HUGE help. Thank you.

That’s good to hear Ed, hopefully everything went well. Not terribly difficult just a little patience
Thanks so much for putting this out there. I’m replacing the fender on my Silverado tomorrow. I was a little worried about it but you’ve put my mind at ease.
Thanks for watching I hope you find this useful ! 👌 it’s not that difficult just the will to do it and the patience ...
Damn that's alot of step to do to remove the side fender
Hell yeah bro when I'm slammed for work I think about that too 😭😩 just a little patience is all
Nice. Thanks. Working on that tomorrow. Good job editing as well
I have a 2016 GMC Canyon and I hope the fender removal is about the same my wife backing out destroyed the passenger front fender
Those are a lot easier , it doesn’t come with the inner structure like these here. It’s just the outer panel
What year is the truck?
You make it look easy my dood.
Lol it's just a little bit of practice!
@@AutoWizard94 I was being sarcastic. U actually make it look waaay more complicated than it is. But good video! Subscribed brother!
That was the easiest removal I ever thought thank you!!!!
It’s looks intimidating but it’s just a bunch of bolts lol glad you found it helpful
I literally did that in less then one hour
@@serge3463 hell yeah bro that’s what I’m talking about !
Thanks for the video. Question: Are the pre-painted fenders you can buy matched pretty good color-wise?
I believe so I’m not too sure though
Helps a lot , is long process to me
I'll do it for sure
You got it!
Is the process the same for passenger side? Tired to follow step by step but no tray just my air intake and battery. Is the bolts I need to get to under all that?
It is , the air intake has to come out and the battery
ty so much this helped me so much today!!

Silverado are so worth it.
Is it the same for. 2018 Sierra
Yea similar a few things change here or there but it’s very much the same
Great video super helpful thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
You made it look easy I got a 2002 fixing to try it
lol thank you I’ve done my fair share of them, good luck, they’re not difficult just a whole lot of unbolting
You made it look easy but not easy enough for this old man to tackle.
You can do it too , it's just a little patience!
Is the passenger side the same in terms of mounting
Yeah it's pretty much the same it just has other stuff in the way that the other doesn't vice versa!
Any advice for removing/pulling the fender forward if it's pushed up into the door? I can't open the door, so no access to those bolts on the inside.
Would have to see sometimes door gets damaged trying to separate them

Everything , brackets, retainers etc… they always come bare when new

Awesome ! I’m glad it helped. Yes it is, makes removing everything else much easier
Do you have to remove bumper in order to do this?
Yesss you do the way the fender hinges on and all the other parts in the way it's almost nearly impossible to not remove it
@@AutoWizard94 do you happen to have a video for the process on how to remove the bumper?
@@jesusrobles3220 yeah it's on my channel
I miss the old Chevy fenders so much easier to take on and off and to line up
Donyou have to remove the bumber? Im about to start doing this
You do
Do you have a video for the passenger side fender?
I do not but the process is similar
Looks pretty straight forward
It is, just a little patience
To install fender is it straight bolt on or is alignment needed to get straight body gaps?
No it will require some alignment
Thanks for sharing, hope you and wife had a great New Year.
Thank you, I hope you did as well . Thanks for keeping up
Weak
Can you run no fenders on a 2014 Silverado ? Or does the headlights bolt into it?
I’m sure you can, but why? Once you remove the your engine bay has no protection
Very helpful thank you 👍
Can you use Silverado fenders on a gmc sierra
I think the body lines differ a bit
Do you have a video for the passenger side? Or where I can find one?
No I don't brother sorry , but it's pretty much the same process as it is on this side give or take
its the same for a 15 silverado?
Yeah it's the same process
@@AutoWizard94 thank you nice video
How long did it take to remove it?
few hours
Can you make a video for the passenger side?
When I get the chance I’ll put it up , haven’t done one recently
Nice job thanks
Looks easy let’s trying
Where are you located bro?
Houston , Tx
U have a go pro ?
Yeah bro my sister gave it to me as a wedding gift
Its the same for a Chevy 1992..??
I wanna say yeah but I’ve never worked on a 92 Silverado
What year models is this for
3rd Gen Silverado, but it’s very similar to earlier models
Thanks buddy
Love it!!!!
Thanks
from where did u get your fenders from which sites
Not too sure, we have a parts department that handles all of this. Most of the time we get it from the Manufacturer
Thanks bro
I was going to remove the fender but I think I will just bump it out
Awesome 👏
et un gros Mercie car je doit changer mais deux rockeur .
Why did gm design his crap again i just did this on a previousvgeneration (2010)ty for info man (rockers suck to replace)
Yes sir , these are a pain. They finally fixed them in the New Gen chevys
Need video passenger side😊
Thanks for watching 🤙 it's very similar to this side only difference is removing battery , coolant housing and air filter box
the other videos?
I have to edit them and put them together
Los demás videos??
Aun los tengo que editar, y subirlos
Can you replace the 2015 Silverado2500hd hood and fender grille with 2020
Is it the same process for a 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 WT?
Pretty much brother, it's got a few more nuts that need removing but the overall process is the same
Is it the same process for a 01 Chevy
Pretty much the whole fender comes off as one unit
Similar to 99-06 🙏🏽
Yes sir! 👍
Not gonna lie I hate Silverado fenders 😭😭😭 if I can repair them I will definitely repair them
Yup I think we all have a love hate relationship towards them lol
Could you go into detail why you feel that way? It looks pretty easy and straight forward to replace.
How you gonna start the video with half the car already taken apart???
ua-cam.com/video/7bP_Q4G4AGo/v-deo.html
How are you gonna write this comment before watching this
What a nightmare 🤦🏻♂️
I agree !
Wow to much work for fender why they made it that hard
It’s a structural piece, since the fender and wheel house all come off together
Have to take off the whole car to take a fender off no more new cars for me
Lol new trucks the fender just comes off on its own now, this was the process even for 2000- 2018
Dude just scrap the truck..thsts all its worth sadly
Most useless video 😂 with all the jump cuts
