Frankencutlass. '72 with a 1970 front clip, doors, dash, door panels, rear bumper, Chevy engine, Ford rear end. Makes an awesome combination. Needs a Trans-Am steering box or an old clutchflite.😉
Glad he explained the pulley swap at the end because I was freaking out at losing 742HP from the engine dyno to the chassis dyno, you can expect 150 - 200HP loss but not that much.
I just turned 40 but I grew up going to school riding in a 71 Cutlass with a 383 stroker motor in it I've always been in love with this body style and to think I rode the school in one everyday as a kid it had sidepipes with skinny tires on the front with Street slicks on the rear boy this takes me back I drive a little S10 Blazer with the motor sticking out the hood with headers a V8 no hood you know hot rod life😅
My goodness! I got off when I first saw this Beautiful Creation. Great work, fantastic job, love everything, except how much y'all have had to spend on this lady. Bravo
If it had an Olds boat anchor under the hood it wouldn’t be anywhere close as fast and not as reliable. I get staying with the same brand engine as the car on street cars but it just doesn’t make sense on race cars.
@@danmyers9372 Although I prefer the BB from the olds counter part I have to politely disagree. Olds can go just as fast, it would just be more expensive because it is more of a niche market.

Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!!!!!!!!
What a sweet clossy bad ass Olds ..the only negative I can see was the Satin black BS that was trendy and old 10 minutes after its debut You see Chrome & Polished Stainless is Timeless and whats perfect about it is you can add the amount of Bling you want without becoming just another trendy follower / posser.
No sir. They make kits to fit oldsmobile engines too. We had a big block olds on the dyno last fall with a twin Torqstorm kit. It made mid 800hp to the tires.
@@HorsepowerDepot right on. I got a 72 coupe, and i saw it had a 72 hood, because 70's use the bolt on center tooth, so i couldnt figure out what was goin on. My dad had a 70 442 when i got my cutlass. 70's are by far my favorite.
That data display location is rattling my brain, lmao. Why not put it at the factory location? Looks to be plenty of room. Has to be a pain in the ass looking over and down at the screen if you want data while driving.
It actually will not fit in the stock location without cutting the dash out. When you are hanging on you don't have time to watch the dash, I am focusing on the track and the tach/shift light. I think it is a great spot for the digital dash.
Because with efi doesn't get the cooling effect like carbs do, you can run them without an intercooler because they will have better iat unlike efi in most cases if you try and run without an intercooler
Nothing more than a "Chevymobil" like the rest of them and when the big block chevy gets beat it will be time for a nother LS swap too each his own but as a oldsmobile puritan in good faith we build our oldsmobile rocket V8,s never swap out for a corporate motor peace ✌

It's cool to see Steve's video of this motor on the dyno and now seeing what it does in the car
I agree! Wish we could have pushed it with the higher boost pulley setup, would have been a better comparison.

Lol I was thinking the same thing
This cars been around and painted since the 80s. It's been a great car and Scott and his stuff is top notch.

Yep, I was wondering about that too.
You can expect a 15 to 20% loss, not 150-200hp. 20% of 1900hp would be 380hp.

I see alot of shops getting those hub dynos.no tire slippage.great for finding problems before it goes to the track
My buddy has one at his shop. Not only can you load the suspension, they’re so much safer.
that's some great torque numbers brother she loves that.
I seen that car up at US 31 two years ago super awesome car, great 👍 video fellas
Allways interesting to see engine dyno numbers vs chassis dyno numbers. A loose converter will hurt you on the Dyno but man it helps at the track
Maybe
Damn good looking car and Steve power too !
2 tons of pure fun!
more like 3600
The 72 I had weighed in at 5600 with a 455 and turbo 400 trans. 2 tons fun is correct.
