Seriously, you guys? Unless I'm missing something, this may be one of only a few original L-88 Vettes ever made. And regardless of how much money was put into it, they have destroyed a piece of history. It has the original Stinger hood, which is rare as heck, and that was typically only for these cars this year! This is the car that makes two-hundred-thousand-dollar resto-mod Corvette owners envious and was one of the fastest production cars in the world when it was originally built: the 1967 L88 Corvette.
Back in the early 70's my father had a friend that was something of a savant when it came to sound/vibration. He really knew how to tune engines and tinker with and bend and twist pipes and use the ground and other things to his advantage to make cars sound like a million bucks. I remember growing up in the 80s and everybody knew when my dad was on his way home. Even when he was still a few miles away. His 69 Stingray sounded otherworldly when I was a kid. After his passing I now own and maintain it. But it sounds nothing like it used to. I'm still searching for a new savant to help me bring it back to something like it used to be.
Having owned multiple C2’s, us six footers always have to squirm around to work the clutch. I think some have modified that back board to get a little extra space. Great find and whoever built that car should be proud as its not overdone and I’ll bet it’s a great driver. Just found your channel and hit the sub button tight away. Good Luck.
Music was a great touch! Can’t wait to see more videos on this and really looking forward to tons of blue 69 Camaro content! It’s been so long I kinda forgot the whole story behind the car.
Very nice to see the detailed cleaning underneath getting rid of all the salt. So many guys just leave all the salt on and everything just continues to rust badly.
I’m guessing you will meet your UA-cam goal. You guys have some amazing cars and by your racing success prove that you obviously know what you are doing. I will do my part in spreading the word about your channel.
You guys got a great deal for sure ! The water line didn't hit the dash . But seeing a lot of salt water cars rust out from the inside out in 6 months where i live id remove that frame and have it dipped or really really flush it out like you where doing but take more time to hit every fitting or weep whole .
I really liked the video so I had to subscribe! Most cars that go swimming don't look as good underneath as this Corvette! I like how you don't just make it work but go for a real good outcome almost like nothing ever happened! I have electric exhaust cutouts on my 69 Camaro it does give a lot more attitude!
The body and wheel upgrades are not my style but I bet she'll be a lot of fun to drive with all those mechanical upgrades. Best of luck on building the channel.
Man nice car the 67 is my favorite year of the corvette not a big fan of the roadster I'm more of a coupe car but I also like the OG 427 Big Block they are such a awesome car to drive my father has one with the 400hp big block and the 4 spd trans and they are a great car
Looks just like the one I seen in Valparaiso FL. Setting in a shop were I work a little bit. I ask the owner if he trad 3 of my cars for it. He said I'd just get killed in it.
Remarkable ! For a salt damage car it didn’t seem like it was that bad , I just bought an old 9.5 Evinrude outboard that was salt water damaged it was ate up it looked like ice crystals growing on it ,
WOW! This is the negative of my dream car. I want the exact same car but built like the Black L-88. Black exterior, blue stinger, blue interior. Will it be for sale when you are done with it? Really like it!!
Alot of work went into that car, 2 questions...is there anything inside that airbox or is it a single throttle body? Also, what is the displacement? There are a few 427 cube ls motors out there...
Sweet ride...only thing I'd change if it were mine is to remove those side exhaust and just have a normal rear exit system. I'd probably also remove the headers and just run factory manifolds just for ease of maintenance in the future...I personally wouldn't miss the 10 hp loss from the header swap.
@jake_of_the_jungle9840 I'm not sure about Indiana, but here in Michigan, it would still get a title. That means that this car could not be registered for street use here in Michigan.
Nice Car. I would be using penetrating oil and taking the suspension apart clean every thing and put it back together again. Water in the doors? You will see what the interior looks like when you take that out. Really Nice Car.
That is one seriously nice car. Whoever built it or had it built did not spare any expense.

That looks like one seriously re-built Corvette.Somebody put loads of thought and even more money into it.There's a guy out there missing this car!!!
Beautiful car and glad you are making it right again. Looking forward to the future videos and hope you can make it in the UA-cam world.
Thanks for the support! We’re going to give it our best shot and see where it goes!

The Vette was done in good taste.
Thank You for Sharing
Except for those wheels. 🤮
@@danmyers9372larger modern versions of the originals. ❤
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 😅
That will be a great driving car with that drivetrain and suspension. Great project.
It so nice to see family working together. Great find!

Wow! That's my dream car! and its done-up better than I could have imagined.
Love everything about this car - color, stance, suspension, wheels…….
Music was a great touch! Can’t wait to see more videos on this and really looking forward to tons of blue 69 Camaro content! It’s been so long I kinda forgot the whole story behind the car.
Man that looks like a blank check build. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
Cool '67! It sounds quiet...you guys find the best Corvettes 👌
Very nice to see the detailed cleaning underneath getting rid of all the salt. So many guys just leave all the salt on and everything just continues to rust badly.
incredible build and even better luck. that thing barely needed anything. cars that havent been flooded almost never look this nice

U deserve way more subscribers. I love watching your videos.
I love that you are going to be going after UA-cam hard core this year!! I can't wait to see what all you do!!
Thanks! I’m pretty excited to see where it goes.
@HorsepowerDepot I just found your UA-cam channel today and it's Great. Beautiful Vet
looks like a good build seems like someone would know about it. looking forward to a test drive.
Someone has to know about this car!
Wow can't wait to see it back on the road mabe down the drag strip

Beautiful car, someone spent a lot of time and money and it shows, lucky find.
Great vid ! Color on vet is best. So anxious to see how rims come out
Street Corvette, Race Corvette, Flooded Corvette don't matter which one - Horsepower Depot can fix it😁
We can break them too! 🤣🤣
Great work saving this amazing car ,looks stunning tbf
Those wheels look sooooo good.
I was thinking the same . They look like they could have been OEM but obviously at least 18x10 ‘s.
Ghettoe

Such a BEAUTIFUL convertible!!!
That is a unit! awesome looking build
The body and wheel upgrades are not my style but I bet she'll be a lot of fun to drive with all those mechanical upgrades.

That is looking good ! Sharp!
One sweet ride. Someone spent a lot of time on that car.
For sure! A lot of nice work done to this car!
What a Nice Find !!!!
Thanks Jordan - great video!
Always ready for next video 👍

Coupes do look much better!
Looking good 👍
Super cool vette! 👍
My first time watching your video going to check out some more. I am a Corvette fanatic.
Let’s see more of this adventure. Can’t wait to find where the salt made it into?
It does look a nice car ,been done very well !
Looks just like the one I seen in Valparaiso FL.
Setting in a shop were I work a little bit. I ask the owner if he trad 3 of my cars for it. He said I'd just get killed in it.
Gee, it almost looks like you took it to a professional detail shop. 😂
Subscribed! Keep up the excellent content
Hi awsome car . This is a Tom Argue design build .
I got his number last night. Thanks though! I appreciate it.
Beautiful car
You stole it 👍🏻 nice find, beautiful car ❤
The owner must have a serious toy box for this not to have been one of the first things he rescued before the flood.
Great find, nice work bring it back to life, love it.
No.1...it can be saved. No.2...it can be saved
Yeah, man, it's good to have money's I got to try that one of these days.
Beautiful rare vehicle❤❤
That is one seriously beautiful car but I’m sure you know that already!
Great find, keep it up
Remarkable ! For a salt damage car it didn’t seem like it was that bad , I just bought an old 9.5 Evinrude outboard that was salt water damaged it was ate up it looked like ice crystals growing on it ,
Like those wheels
Beautiful car….damn that sucks for the person who built and lost this one!! ….but great for the new owner if the price was right!!
WOW! This is the negative of my dream car. I want the exact same car but built like the Black L-88. Black exterior, blue stinger, blue interior. Will it be for sale when you are done with it? Really like it!!
LOVE the stance!--and wheels!--who make those wheels?
Did this come from Ft Myers Beach FL ? I think I seen it being hauled out on a roll back . 🤔🤔🤔
Nice car, damn similar to what I’m doing to my coupe
Awesome! Coupes are better in my opinion!
Alot of work went into that car, 2 questions...is there anything inside that airbox or is it a single throttle body? Also, what is the displacement? There are a few 427 cube ls motors out there...
I love the wheels
Side pipes may look cool but they suck for a cruiser if you want to talk to someone
I see that car in copart, fl is full of corvette with water flow title right now
Just found your show from Vermont.
Sweet ride...only thing I'd change if it were mine is to remove those side exhaust and just have a normal rear exit system. I'd probably also remove the headers and just run factory manifolds just for ease of maintenance in the future...I personally wouldn't miss the 10 hp loss from the header swap.
I even like the color
Love the car. Whats the work around for the scrap title?
It’s so old I think they only have registrations
@jake_of_the_jungle9840 I'm not sure about Indiana, but here in Michigan, it would still get a title. That means that this car could not be registered for street use here in Michigan.
Sweet car!
Good video....
Does the salt water eat away at the wire harness at all? Curious
Damn that things looks mean. I actually like the wheels. Something a bit different and it sits well with them and the suspension.
It'd be interesting to hear the story of how you got it...COPART or IAAI I assume....as well as why you bought it. Looks like a pretty good deal
Copart. Just bought it to add to the collection. No intent to sell this car.
That was my buddies car .
Pretty much brand new build before this happened . What did you guys pay for it ?
Y'all got lucky!
forget the music.
Agreed
Great song but agreed it’s unnecessary for the video
@@mrh3085amen...i think its Creed or Nickleback...terrrible bands
@@JK-g62its actually Staind.
@kristoffermangila thanks bro...i thought i liked Staind but not this one 🤣
Did I miss the part of the video where you checked to make sure it wasn’t hydro-locked before you started cranking it over…
Was a hard top available for it? Sorry don't know much about these cars.
what about the inside of the chassis, body mounts and bottom sections of the bird cage? The salt is going to eat at it.
Looks like a well built car. Just need to 86 those gawd awful fugly wheels! 🤢🤮
It’s always sad to see a classic ruined by nature..Just think how many sweet rides were burned in LA & not saved..
Damn that car is beautiful. Did u say how much u got it for
Nice Car. I would be using penetrating oil and taking the suspension apart clean every thing and put it back together again. Water in the doors? You will see what the interior looks like when you take that out. Really Nice Car.
Can you tell me who was singing part of your soundtrack
y'all play the lottery damm your lucky
Wow!! 130K for a flood car,......!!!!!
$280K? In what world. And don't get me wrong, I love DSE.
Can you tell me who the manufacturer is for the wheels and the wheel and tire size please? Thanks
Did you buy this or are you fixing it for the owner?
Stock frame could have been used if somebody wants to turn it back to original they could
It’s got flared fenders and quarters, and modifications done to the factory frame that would keep it from going back to original.
You know what they say !!!
"ALL good things come to an End"
Like the muzic 👍🇺🇸
I never did like the rag tops. Only 63-67 Coupes here.
Whomever the car belonged to has to be sick!
Time to find factory size rims and tires.
Wow a T-shirt and hundred wow
That’s half of my monthly UA-cam income. 🤣🤣
Are you letting this car go for sale?
Is it a total loss an people that buy this Vette have to knows whats happen to it is there a title search that said Flood damage ??
