Funny thing is, in the comic where Bane breaks Batman’s back, not only did Bane ambush Batman in his home, but Batman was also exhausted from having to re-catch all the criminals that escaped Arkham Asylum when Bane destroyed the walls.

In the comic where Green Lantern kills Batman he *checks notes* destroys the entirety of DC aside from a tiny pocket dimension. (Zero Hour)
Somehow Batman’s prep time didn’t counter all of time and space being turned to nothing.
      ----------
Batman also gets Superman’s powers at one point but it kinda drives him nutty. He takes down the Justice League who are trying to calm him. You know who beats Kryptonian level Batman? Clark freaking Kent with prep time. Concocts some science/magic thing with some help from Zatanna to swap them back and actually mentally outplays Batman.
      -----------
Darkseid omega beams him. But Batman shoots him with a god killing bullet (breaking his vow) before he gets got (and we get an awesome scene of bloodlusted Superman holding Batman’s skeleton).
      ------------
Eobard Thawne beats the tar out of Batman and mentally tortured him a bit before Manhattan of all people kills Thawne (for a bit… it’s Thawne he doesn’t die)
      ----------
That’s all his major deaths/losses off the top of my head. Funnily enough I don’t think he ever really prepped for any of them. But after he HATED Green Lantern and was super suspicious/paranoid of him, he got a suit that could hold off Darkseid and Flash helps him after Thawne attacks so maybe Batman asked for some tips.

When eventually I DID swoop down I just stood there as everyone around me aimed and attempted to fire, only to have their guns either jam up or just explode, incapacitating them. Those who remained conscious went to replace their jammed guns, only to find the ammo boxes on site had been electrified and they were soon unconscious too.
I should probably mention I used the disruptor from above to achieve jamming all the weapons and electrfying the ammo crates, which took nearly two freaking hours.

Something crazy happens, Batman investigates, stops the goons, almost stops the crime, gets in a fight with an enemy more powerful/weirder than he expected. Batman gets KO'd, they escape, he uses clues he got from the crime scene to figure out what they're doing and how to best deal with the new threat. I mean, he's right. The point of prep time is that each person gets enough time to prepare for their opponent, which is very different from always being prepared for them. The reason it's used on Bats so much is because he has the resources, intelligence and drive to figure out the weakness of just about any being and then exploit it, he just needs time to do all that. That's not applicable to everyone. Shoot, Lex Luthor usually uses prep time to try and get one over on Superman yet still loses pretty much every encounter they have.

And it doesn’t work because people like me fantastic, Superman, the flash and so many others if they had enough prep time they could potentially do way more damage. Any character with enough prep time could beat anyone else, because it’s a major advantage, if you’re gonna use it your gonna have to also give the opponent the same amount of time to fight them

But they can heal people, they can fold time and space to resurrect someone, they can mimic pretty much any kind of radiation(like kryptonite).
Granted most lanterns don't have the will to pull off that, but the best of the best do and they tend to be in the JL. And some of the stuff requires knowledge too. Like the GL that mimicked kryotonite(Kyle rayner) needed Martian Manhunter to telepathically tell him the chemical makeup of kryptonite so he could recreate it.
An intelligent strong willed GL is basically a minor cosmic being in terms of power level.
And then the flash is even more overpowered. Wally West not only can move at speeds so fast even Superman appears as just a statue. He can KO superman level beings with one punch by hitting them while running faster than light. And he can remove speed from objects and people. He could steal speed from someone so it takes them a century just to blink once.
