first review to say that this iem is bright. graph's don't tell everything. i feel some drivers sound bright even within the JM -1 avg 2k-4k and others don't even above average. psychoacoustic variances i presume.
Remember folks when a reviewer is around 30+ expect that they will like a lot of upper treble 80% of the time, the older the less sensitive they are to higher frequencies, in which they will also correlate such boost as detail, tech etc etc. As a guy around mid 20s I find the upper treble sweetspot to be below or right at the flat line of the midrange, more than that is excessive and a nope.
@@Musicophile-p5l he's talking about upper treble where the older you get you're more likely to lose sensitivity to, but I still feel like thats over generalising.
If you look at Crinacles own collaborations like the Dusk it’s easy to see why he can’t give the brain dance his stamp of approval. Look at the DSP default setting on the dusk and the modification he’s making at 14k. He has 2 micro planar drivers in the Dusk but the Brain Dance has 4, plus it has 2 additional BA drivers vs Dusk. So yeah Crin is not giving his stamp of approval due to its spiciness. However, this doesn’t mean the Brain Dance is bad, it’s just Niche. You can look at the Super Reviews rating on this thing and it’s 5 stars. I believe it is extremely technical for the price point. Might pick one up used for less than $400.
@@FilipinaVegana ok well they’re selling it for $500 and people are buying it… not an IEM valuation expert or anything but I think the price point is higher than $150. Whether it is worth it to you, totally different story.
Why planar when u can use Est to achieve more refined details? Planar seems to be a cheaper alternative to Est in budget iems. But this Dunu is not budget at all.
Its the new in-thing, micro planars (the same thing in the dusk). Not sure whether by right it does anything for techs or tuning (not a huge believer in driver topology as comapred to its implementation) but yes, it is cheaper than the sonion ests commonly used. Personally though, I do prefer the treble on these more than quite a few traditional sets using ests
I would like another Chopin. I am really partial to your Colab. Maybe a different form factor, but really like your Chopin. Surprising performance. Thank you.😅
I wouldn’t mind hearing what issues Crin has with the BD. My guess is the treble (guessing that peak at around 5-6 k)as that seems to what makes or breaks this IEM from the reviews I’ve seen on it.
This set is not bad at all, if you like treble. There's a lot of it though it is well controlled and a very nice flavour in the landscape where more treble (but well done ones) are rare to find. Personally wished the cohesion of this iem was better (bass and treble sounded different) but a great release nonetheless imo. Thanks for the video!
@@aaronmarchbanks5394 on these, it's a noticeable uniform warm tilt, so at least in this regard, driver impedances here are well-matched. BDs are one of those rare cases where extra impedance does not skew with stock tuning and only serves to improve it.
I really love this tuning style but I agree treble needs to be controlled; I've tried it via AutoEq and goddamn it's too much. Buy pulling it back by 5db fixes everything for me. They just have to use a better dampening system, treble needs to keep that elevation but instead of a 12db peak it should plateou around 5 to 6 db. This would keep the wow factor but fix the digital timbre of vocals.
I am VERY curious about this IEM. Graph wise, the "easiest" way to look at it IMO is that it's the DaVinci that leans in the other direction; where the DaVinci leans very heavily towards the warm side of the Meta tuning spectrum, the BD leans far brighter instead. NGL I'm mildly skeptical but considering that some people whose ears I trust do like them, I'm somewhat hopeful 🤞
I HATE the Brain Dance. My modified Tangzu Yu Xuan Ji is light years ahead, in every possible way (even appearance, despite the BD looking rather nice, in its science fiction way).
Awesome Timmy, think it’s a great shout to bring sets like the BD to the community, I vote more Timmy time tales by the fire 😂 what do the community like interested in ongoing sin the hobby
Next thing you know they're going to come up with a version with EST tweeters so it's really fast. No doubt they will call it the Flamenco Brain Dance. And it will be even more fatiguing to listen to than this one, and no one will want it, because no one wants an IEM that tap dances on their brain.
bummer. i was really into the shell design and was looking forward to getting one, but every reviewer seem to emphasize that the treble was harsh and i'm somewhat sensitive to treble
I had 2 exemplars here and both have buzzing noise on the right side. I tried several outlets where all my other IEMs worked perfectly fine. Its not really noticeable for music but when I watch a video from time to time its unbearable. Its connected via MMCX maybe thats the issue, didnt try the 2pin. Idk if anyone else has this issue or if im doin smth wrong or if its maybe a production issue they have

Hey... Am I crazy, or are you/used to be a perfume reviewer? If it's not you, I think I remember coming across a video years ago from someone who looked just like you
What do you think now, does the reviewer’s vocal signature affect the review 100%, whether he likes it or against it? For example, if it is not bass-heavy and he describes something as having a lot of bass, you will try it and discover that it does not have bass. This applies to lovers of middle or treble. Accept the quantity if it is exaggerated. More or less, this made me confused
The majority of reviewers are treble heads. That is by far the biggest cult in audio. 🙉 Now, with a store, crin has to show the other side. Otherwise, his return rates are going to the roof.
I think Crin can't cope with Brain damage 🤣 but in my opinion most of his collabs with Moondrop Blessings are also shouty in treble so if he has not approved for Treble then it is a no go for treble sensitive ears.
My eyes are bleeding from all these cables, made for recessed two pin connevtions being put on flat two pin smh. Just decide for one alr? This is the worst of all the options, since its way less sturdy than a proper recessed two pin and less sturdy than the round cable ending sitting flush against the iem in the case of a non recessed two pin.
Staying clear of these. Don't have time or money to waste on sub standard products that I need to bring home and fix myself. Do a better job next time Dunu.

Impedance adapters are simply a must with these, the change is very noticeable, especially for planar timbre haters. But that in itself is extra cost.
It depends on what the other drivers impedances are, for example on the B2 Dusk an impedance adapter raises the upper kids and treble more
