If a vehicle is in a intersection and the light is turning red, that turning vehicle has the right away once traffic clears. The black Honda took the red light.

Before you hope anything analyze the whole thing again …if the bus driver started making his left turn on amber light then it is his fault….if you are driving a school bus you never ever make a left turn even on red light much less if the light is amber if there is a car coming straight…your job as a school bus driver is to avoid accidents at all costs unless you get hit at which point there is not much you can do, in this case the bus hit the car….

To me it looks like the bus driver is at fault. If you're turning then you have to yield and wait to make sure no one is coming from the opposite direction!
Hope the family of the deceased will see that the driver is held accountable. Only they can take a bite out of crime, the lady sure won’t be able to.

Those saying it was the bus drivers fault, please watch the vid until you can factually declare it. I can factually declare that it is 100% the Honda drivers fault. Accord ran red after atleast 2 secs, bus has protected turn arrow. Its all in the vid, look at the facts folks.

The fact that the driver isn’t suspected of DUI is even worse. If it was DUI you can blame it on stupidity of a drunk person. But the fact that a sober person committed this negligence just to possibly save a few seconds. Reckless manslaughter

If what the witnesses are saying is correct the car entered the intersection on amber, also the school bus hit the car on the driver’s side on the rear which means that the car was very close to crossing the intersection that means the car had all the right to cross the intersection without being impeded by the school bus, if the car was so far it would have hit the bus on the passenger door side…a good school bus driver should never ever no matter what should make a left turn if a car is coming straight even if the lights are red and specially if the lights are amber….the school bus driver can wait all he wants in the middle of the intersection without worrying about him getting hit, it is so big almost everyone can see him….all I need to know is if the lights were amber and the accident would be charged to the school bus driver by the school bus company and as far as criminal responsibility most likely there would be a share of responsibility like 80/20% the bus being 80% and the car 20%…
I agree, to me it looks like the bus driver was at fault (although not reckless). Impossible to tell from this video if the light was yellow or red when the Honda crossed. But in general, if you're turning then you should yield.

Yikes, I remember when this happened to a Chinese tourist at Hollywood & Highland. She was literally cut into 4 pieces and died! She was visiting L.A. with her best friend who was screaming like crazy. That story is why I wait BEHIND the traffic pole before crossing the street!
