I review the PRS Mark Holcomb SE Guitar. IMHO It's one of the best guitars priced under $1200.00. One of the best PRS guitars yet.

One of the best signature guitars out there. I love that color too!

Thank you so much! I can't believe it either. I'm so glad to be working with companies of that stature.

There's something about a prs with bird inlays on a maple fingerboard. I just love the look of it!

You did a great job on this demo. The control layout makes a lot of sense to me, like the pickup selector doesn’t fall under the bar even though it may feel a little far away. I could see really getting used to that with some time and appreciating where it is. Kudos to PRS for giving you this guitar to review, and your review was very informative and well done. GREAT job!

Hey Jarrod, great review! I’ve owned one of these for several years in the gray charcoal color. I played it for quite a while, and eventually started playing other guitars, but I still enjoy it. Those Tomahawk pickups are really unique. I think they combine both Alnico and Ceramic magnets.

Thanks for the demo! I mainly play 7 strings these days but I've had this guitar on my wishlist for a while now just because I love PRS guitars. For some reason my solos just seem easier to play on them

This might be the first prs I've scene that visually didn't instantly turn me off. Sounds killer to boot.

I used to love my PRS guitars...they've had a long rap as not having their own recognizable sound. I think a few of their recent signatures spiced it up a bit.

The numbeer one thing that has stopped me buing one of the Dustie models is the placement of the volume knob. I don't like having to hop over the trem arm to grab it when I need it, which is often.

I like the hard tail one. I don’t deal with Floyds.

Ive got a regular ce24, and i love it. Im way interest in how the dw neck feels, and the maple fretboard. Sounds epic!

I wish it had the PRS trem and not a Floyd Rose. Don't like those.
I'm a huge PRS fan. I just heavily prefer singlecut guitars like LPs and the PRS singlecut.
I just really never use a whammy bar. I know you love those! :). My hands never stick to a PRS or LP neck but our chemistry is different. I much prefer the 10" radius and 12" radius fretboard.
With good locking tuners, you don't really need a locking trem. On my old CE22, I can do crazy dive bombs with a vintage trem and locking tuning machines.

Getting some really nice sounds out of it! I have the previous version, it was my first signature guitar. I’m not sure if I want to snag the new one too but it would be nice to play both for myself for a while.

I almost bought the Amber one but finally got the amplifier that was on my radar for over a year. I’ll see if it is still available after my modest tax refund hits my anorexic bank account and priorities get in the way again.

Since 2019 I’ve bought a Core 24-08 10-Top, a McCarty 594 10-Top with Wood Library features (quilt maple top, flame maple neck, ebony fretboard), a SE A60E, and a McCarty 594 SC. I’ve already decided my next guitar is a CE DW Floyd.

I own one of these, same finish and everything 😂. This one I fell in love as soon as I picked it up at my local shop, plays and sounds perfect! My only gripe with it is bridge intonation, and it is not the guitar’s fault, it’s my fault for tuning in C. At that tuning the 6 string saddle is as far as it will go towards the bridge and intonation is still a bit off.

I wish PRS still made the sandblasted guitars I would definitely get a few of them but I believe they were only released in the UK

I have the hard tail version. Jade smokeburst. I don't care for the mojotone pickups. To each their own. My luthier is converting mine to active with a KSE fluence set.

    • @TONEWARSgearshow

I think it's a good guitar. For me, it comes down to ergonomics as well. I need the switches and knobs to be in a specific place because I use the pickup selector switch a lot.

I met Dustie once. Got a chance to talk to him for about a whole 2 minutes, lol. I asked him about glass casket.
BTBAM is definitely one of those bands you've got to see live.
