Remove all the smog equipment - it will thank you. Ive done it on four 3fe’s and the smog stuff and cat is more trouble than necessary (and it’s not an o2 sensor. Just a heat probe)
Really?!? Interesting 🤔 I briefly researched the smog pulp delete which I may do- but I’m more focused on just yanking it for another Cummins to go in.
Oh there’s plenty - I did have to lower the steering brace to clear the oil pan though. You can make your own but I just cut out one side and bent it down/ then re welded it.
Damn, I just found your channel, I have an FJ60 with a 12V swap. I didn't do the swap originally and have been fixing all the issues its been a real headache and financial burden not gonna lie lol. I spun the axle on the way home from work one day (I was running leafs without an antiwrap bar, and wrapped the axle). I'm converting it to 4 link now, front is already 3 link from the PO. How bad is the oil pan hang on the 80? Did you fab any sort of skid for it? After you flipped your snorkel, did you have any problems with the hoodstack (I'm also hoodstacked).
Dude I know! It’s a nonstop money pit! I always wanted to do a Cummins 60 series that’s so sick! Oh no! Yeah 4 link is the way to go! So you have to either cut/bend/reweld the stock steering stabilizer bar or fabricate a new one. Theres no need for a skid plate it’s covered by the axle! I was sucking in a lot of soot initially with the snorkel faced forward. Once I reversed it problem solved!
@@Austin_SaintOnge Hmm Im curious where the 6BT lands position wise in the 80 then. my axle lands really far forward on the oil pan, and it definitely looks like a protruding rock could hit the sump area of the oil pan. Or maybe I'm just overthinking things too much.
I’ve been researching doing this swap and like the idea- but I can’t find any concrete information on where I can get an adapter plate/output shaft for the 80 series case
I bet you could turn this into a full time job if you wanted. I would kill for a cummins in my 80.
That’s the goal! I’d love to have my own shop someday!
I was thinking of trying this on a stock height cruiser. Think there’s enough room to fit it? Maybe have to modifying oil pan to clear axle?
I think all the cruisers I’ve seen that have been Cummins swapped were lifted at least 2 inches🤔

How much clearance do you have from oil pan to front axle?

I see lots of v8 swaps on Ih8mud but I’ve thought it would be cool to do diesel swap from a Aussie 80 series.
I like the Toyota diesels as well- but the being able to go to any advance, autozone, Napa, O’Reillys etc to get same day parts is hard to beat!

@@alexschwanz3702 on the 80 it’s completely protected. I’m not too familiar with the 60 series🤔
Do an electric one never seen one before
Someone actually just did an electric conversion! I can’t find his channel but it was pretty cool! I think he’s out in this neck of the woods as well
@@Austin_SaintOnge I haven't seen that world love to see it
I found it. I think you should still do one.

Do you have a buyer yet? How much?
Yeah he’s put down a deposit and I’m driving it to him this Wednesday. Somewhere around $30k😁
Wanna stop by Eastern Wa and sell it to me instead of going all the way to Seattle?
