I love your videos. I am not at your skill level, I feel more comfort in the traditional quilt sewing... I am going to give this a try in a few weeks after I finish the project I am on.. if it is not too ugly I will send you a pic. Thank for posting your videos and sharing your talent!
Nancy, let me know if you tried and gave up (for now). I will still put you in the drawing. BTW, ANY project, inspired in ANY way by my tutorials count. One woman is using the fusible to bind her quilts now. That counts. Napkins count. A raw edge post card counts. Thanks for sticking with me! Beth
I absolutely love your approach to quilting Zazu. I've been gorging myself with your videos all day and will definitely make one of the projects you've put online, probably the miniature landscape. Wow, how exciting. I am too busy right now to start but will do so when possible. Right now I'm taking a day off. The way you teach is also very attractive. Such a soothing voice and so detailed, and I hear the truth and sincerity coming from you; what a pleasure. God bless you and keep you as you share your expertise with your quilting public.
I strongly believe that your unique style, it's very unique, you bring your work to life, I don't know you, but I feel proud to be part of your world even if it's is only through you tube, and trust me when I say that I am not the only viewer that feels that way, Thank you so much for sharing and you have my complete support
How gracious of you Zazu, to share your expertise with anyone who likes quilting. I must try something you teach when I'm in the right zone. I love all your work and must screw up my courage to attempt one of your offerings. Bless you.
thank u for telling us painted fabric doesn't fray. very helpful. it's probably very difficult to explain what u are trying to teach. It is helpful to have your words your interpretations of what you are creating directly from you. if we tell you how to explain it. it will git lost in the over thinking process. your style of teaching is well, why I watch and try. thank u loads. smiles and hugs.
These video's are so inspiring. I've done only patchwork quilting until now and loved the almost mathematic approach and preciseness of those, but I feel I am up to a next more intuitive less straightforward level, more playing, more wrongs, more surprises. Your video's, your quiet voice, the way you say things, what you say, or not say, how you not say how to do it exactly but where to go, I just love it, it is almost poetic. Please keep on making them :-)
Feedback. I love your way of doing these videos. I like little refreshers because I can't always remember exactly how it was done before. Sometime I feel a moment or two of seeing you quilt at your normal speed - not for long - to get a better feel for the type of shapes you make - I'm fairly new to quilting. I like the way you share your thoughts as you're working. I enjoyed watching your piece take shape. I also enjoy your small pieces such as hair towel, heat pad. I'm a fan! Thank you for all the work you've shared with us.
I have wondered about doing a little bit at normal speed. Also thank you for the comments on the little reminders and small pieces. It is very helpful to me to get feedback presented so kindly and positively. Thank you for being an active subscriber.
I love your style, creativity and imagination. I hope one day I can make something this beautiful. You inspire me to have a go. I love the way you cut near the stitch line with your little scissors, and the whole picture suddenly takes on a whole new dimension. Your work is stunning :-)
also maybe you should consider that it could be quite intimidating to tell an artist like you what "we" think. lol. I sat on my thought about the Boulder and plant life overnight. a little shy responding. and I have talked to u many times. Maybe the new viewer doesn't know you are interactive and that's how u git your feedback from your students and the bigger picture is how it will affect your teaching abilities when you write your book and go on tour. I really believe you will one day have an exhibit of your whole body of work. u are very! insightful, intuitive and the creativity just oozes out of you. u make my heart smile
also I found some rubber ice trays. perfect for mixing my paints in. and some heart shaped ones. I'm using all of my nail tech brushes to paint with now instead of doing artificial nails from owning a salon lol. retired now only sewing. lol
Can you tell a beginner like me where to begin? I understand the different layers of material. I’m confused as to do I sew it all together, the backing, batting, and the mountains pieces, landscape all at once or do you put your material pieces together and then add the batting and backing? Do you quilt it as you go? And what if you want to have a backing that isn’t quilted put a backing like a framed painting.? Sorry for the all the questions. I would like to to see more of how you put it all together all in one video if your have one..??? Thank you for your lessons. I really enjoy your work
I have tried to build my philosophy and the techniques thruout all the videos, but see if the first 3 in my Fiber Art Techniques Playlist help you get your bearings. And thanks for watching! Let me know how it goes, pls. ua-cam.com/play/PLaGo_8Zz-f0ZlD3jxlDP_TAN-QbMmwHbt.html
So... maybe I missed it but, did you paint the fabric with water colors or did you buy it that way? I love the look and have never seen anything like it in a fabric store. I made two landscape quilt window coverings for a cabin near Yosemite, wish I'd seen your video before making mine! beautiful work, I love it.
I know its been a few years since you made this landscape quilt but I have to tell you,,,,, I've watched it many times. Im working on a landscape now. trying not to totally copy what you have done! I have a question, Do you find that black thread never looks as good as other colors when used for quilting? My stitches look soooo much better with anything but black.....? was going to quilt my moutains with black but not sure I want to look at the poor stitch quality. maybe I'll try dark brown variegated ? what do you think
I have avoided black a lot too for that reason. Sometimes grey is more forgiving, but I always love a nice variegated thread. What color are the mountains?
Ohhh, I like your brown plan. I usually put a little snarl of several choices on the piece before I make my final choice though, because I really want to see my stitching. Good luck!
Newbie … suggest a video to learn how to free hand quilt, rules like never cross a line, how to set self up to get back out loop, something is going on in your thoughts while free motion that could help us all. Music on target, narration on target in conjunction with typed notes overlay. feed back is you are on target.
Hi, I am so enjoying watching your videos today. You are very inspiring and creative. I'm dreaming of when I can do a landscape. In one of your videos did you say you use fusible threat in the bobbin? Who is the manufacturer of this thread please? Thank you so much - Phyllis
Wow! Your talent is amazing. Love your work, so inspirational....

@@ZazusStitchArt green gold tones with white grey and purple highlights.

So sorry I missed this. I've used different brands with no problems. Whatever you can find for a reasonable price.
if you just had to add something in the foreground , maybe a big boulder with some plant life embellished in next to it. for added dimension
Oh, yes, this would be cool. Mostly a little worried some people were wanting to see the tree. But maybe no one really cares...
