CHEERS !
you would probably use higher number on tacker for harder wood
Hey Rob… re the jam. Be careful using the Tacwise brads in your new nailer. I know they’re 18g and look the same to the naked eye, but they may not be “Type 47” and may jam. I had that issue a few years back changing from one make to another.
I picked up the Sabre Saw, Cordless Mini Angle Grinder, Cordless Heat Gun, Biscuit Jointer, and the router. You need to treat yourself, plus all those tools for under £130, you really can't complain
Ive used the nailer to make a simple frame for a canvas print. The supplied nails dont offer much grip, id go for a longer nail in future. Using the staples it clogged a few times, like an office stapler i suppose. Just emptied the staples and put fresh ones in to clear the jam. All in all a useful piece of kit
WHAT A JOY, GOOD TO SEE YOU BUDDY
I got the stapler/nailer few months ago, though I’ve got the one with the battery built in and you just recharge it off a lead.
It’s not half bad, I used it to staple felt on my chicken coops I’ve made.
Does the job.
Hi Rob I bought the nailer & was disappointed. The Magazine is pretty flimsy & plastic. I just couldn’t get it to fire 32mm nails either. The Stapler works well though, so for 25quid, I’ll keep it & use it for light jobs.
Thanks for sharing mate👍👍
It is not the same, not power, the same as normal naigun😢
@ It certainly has enough power to bury the Staples & in fairness the small nails supplied with the unit. I couldn’t see a significant difference in the power adjustment.
I honestly think if you drop it, it’ll break. But hey, with TLC it’s worth £25👍👍
Now you've done it. The wife wants a cordless nailer. Can't remember being that bad when I get home from the pub😅😅😅😅 keep up the great work.
Dave
Great review as always Rob! 😃👍
Hi Rob, I too bought the nailer and then bought a pack of mixed type 55 staples and mixed pack of brad nails from Amazon, shame Lidl didn't have packs of these at the same time (often they do, sure you have noticed i.e. sanding belts at the same time as the belt sander etc). I also got some of the bracket packs but the other tool I got was the X20 SDS drill, I already have x2 of the X20 drills with hammer action but my large corded SDS is a bit of a beast so wanted a lighter weight SDS as a just in case, oh and also got a pack of the carpenters pencils more for the sharpener as the other one I have is a bit naff.
Hey Rob.....great review there.....I now have FOMO on parkside.....I need to resolve this....... thanks again for videos
I believe electric nailers use a motor to pull on a spring set to release at a certain tension. the adjuster knob simply applies more or less preload. The actual strike is done by a spring. hence no difference in the depth of the divot in the wood using the 2AH and 4AH batteries. But the 2AH will take slightly longer to pull the spring to release.
👍👍👍. Thank you Rob
I bought a few staplers some years ago when i was framing prints, and i found the 1-6 style tension adjustment is more decorative than functional on most. it will be possible to measure the difference on a force scale or something, but in the real word most things are a bit soft so the amount it goes below the surface is way less to do with force than it is hammer travel out of the nose.
best i found was a cheap B&M handheld manual one as you could go down 'past 1' to 0 and have virtually no strength in it at all. if you unscrewed too far the spring fell out lol.
Great in depth review. Many thanks
Aldi did a great cordless naiier a few years ago... Mine is on its last legs.. does 50mm nails..
Been waiting for Lidl to bring one out, this might fill the gap..
Great video Rob
Hi Rob, nothing wrong with having too many Parkside tools more the better, I should know about too many things I have 15 electric drills, there,s always room for more..................🤣Not a bad nail / staple gun and the 3 in 1 impact drill i think you got some good bargains all what you need in Lidl all those tools and plenty of sausage and bacon for a buttie, nice.
As always a great video it's a 12 out of 10 from me and a 👍Catch you soon mate take care😁😉👍
Sometimes I stop my self to buy 😂 too much temptation
I have the older model of the nailer /stapler and I believe the 1-6 is for the different hardness of the materials you are nailing into.
I just noticed as you were putting a nail in, the front of the tool faced the camera and it shows which side the nail and staples need to go for reference.
Aswell as lots of Lidls's power tools I've got their 16V drill driver from years back. Its an ace all round drill for lighter work
Great video rob, I think if peoples rubber handles go sticky you can wipe them off with white spirit. 👍
Hi Rob, I’ve never had rubber on tools go sticky & horrible. But I’ve definitely had it with hard plastics. I had an old wickes cordless drill, which was years old and I just kept as a spare. Took it out a couple of years ago, and it was horrible. My Mrs had the same issue with an old hairdryer, and apparently it’s a known issue on the dash buttons on old Maseratis (don’t think I’ll ever be troubled by that one 😂).
I had this once with some heavy duty scissors, the rubber overlay went soft like putty. Never seen this before. I threw them away as it was really unpleasant.
Just picked up the 20v right angle impact ratchet keen to try it out tomorrow at work (I'm a mechanic)
Give some updates, please 🙏
@romansepiol used it today stripping a land-rover 101 of accessories and exterior fittings ready for repainting very impressive so far undone the m10 and m12 bolts holding the winch on without issue did struggle with a couple of bolts that were quite rusty
But they gave my dewalt dcf921 which cost 5x as much with a lot more power a workout
@johnwood346 😊 Thanks a lot
I opted for the Stapler and the Heat gun….waiting to see what they bring out in the 12v range
to tighten the auto chuck on the drill you turn full clockwise and once the bit is as tight as it can get you back the chuck of one click, this locks the chuck
Have you seen that lidl in belfast want to install a tap room/ pub in store I think thats gonna lead to quite a few more tool purchases. Also wish Lidl would release the performance line impact driver got the Hammer drill and its a hefty bit of kit but the impact looks very compact and its brushless.
Can't believe you haven't got one of the can edition hoodies. Kind you I suppose there isn't much rubber involved 😂
😂😂😂 I waiting for the rubber version 😂👍 cheers
I bought a cheap nail gun years ago. It was horrible to use and died shortly after. It’s the one tool that you need to buy proper. I bought the Ryobi and I am still using it.
My local Lidl had none of this weeks tools when I went in on Sunday morning. I went to another one a mile away and it had everything. Got the biscuit jointer, the cut off tool (angle grinder as they call it) and the heatgun. Suspect the biscuit jointer will be more trouble than it's worth with all of the play in the thing and the fence mechanism is properly flakey. Given the whole purpose of the jointer is alignment, I think it will prove frustrating unless it can be modified to take the slop out of it.
Really nice video and I never have tried playing with the numbers on the combi drill before, so nice seeing the test.
I have also got the "hobnob slicer" and went also for the saw guide. I have a Trend one, but the Parkside seems lighter, so thought it was worth it. Did you see the Metal Nibbler review on Matilda River Walden's channel, that was cool but I don't cut metal.
Parkside Insulation Cup - 5 hour drive to Plymouth - Still hot! I can smell the coffee with the lid on, so I am not going to be tipping it. 😂
Thanks for sharing.
I may need to go back and check the Ryobi nail gun I got. I don't think it left a mark, although it does bounce.
I have no use whatsoever for a cordless nail gun but I'm feeling compelled to buy one anyway to compliment the rest of my 20V collection. Am I normal?
Perfectly normal. You should consider buying two, in case the first one siezes up due to lack of use.
Thank you great stuff.👍🏴
Maybe an 'O' ring over the nail delivery nozzle, could prevent them "Indentations" ?
Bought the electeic nail gun a couple days ago. Was super frustrated that it didnt work, until I realized I loaded it incorrectly.
Best buy of the year so far. Its basically a super fast clamp.
I dont get the settings though. Why wouldnt I want the nail to go balls deep? 1-5 seems like a feature 🙂
Ive never owned a nailgun and it literally changed my workflow.
My dog hates it though. Every time he hears it, he starts barking....Gun is super useful
I'm with you Rob, rubber all the way! 😆
Hi Rob - thanks for the shout out!😂 Given you own a parkside drill driver without a hammer action i think the 3-in-1 function refers to driver / drill / hammer drill and this is implied in the manual too when it specifies the impact function is for drilling into concrete…I just don’t understand why they called it an impact driver when by their own description it should be called an impact drill. The German tech department eventually confirmed its a hammer drill and seemed to be equally bemused by it being marketed as an impact driver?? And if you check the serial plate on the side of the drill, you’ll also see its labeled as an impact drill not impact driver?!? That all said can’t fault their customer service not only did I get a no question / no quibble refund on the drill / battery and charger they also sent me a £5 gift voucher for my trouble…now patiently awaiting them to restock their actual impact driver! ;-)
Thanks Rob, I went to my local store to pick up some tools for my daughter, and came out with one of the nailers, some of the brackets/plates and one of the clamp guides, would be rude not to ! Didn't see any of the band saws but still had some of the previous few weeks items and the Lathe & Table Saw ! The 10% off is coz you spent so much last month ! 😉🤣
What's my fascination with rubber..... on tools 😆 good vid bud 👍
Nice one Rob 👍the nailed / stapler don't look to bad . As a floorlayer I use a maistri stapler for 6mm ply it has an attachment to put in bradnails absolutely useless and at £300 I think that's a bargain👍👍
Cheers Rod.. really 😮yeah it doesn’t seem a bad bit of kit mate 😉👌
👍👍👍👍👍
i have the older version of the brad nailer, it works better if you use quality brads, the cheap ones that came with it did exactly the same and jammed up all the time
Alright rob another nice haul & thanks for the info on the 3 in 1 I would have bought that wanting an impact driver oh well just have to have a biscuit instead 😂 ps from what I know about nail guns (and I could be wrong) the force setting is more for material density and nail length than the penetration of nails as they are set up to drive the same distance kind of hit & push movement so the only go in so far but again I could be wrong. Keep up the good work buddy cheers colin
Great videos, I don't know about anybody else but I would buy more of these tools if they came including batteries, it's alright having batteries to fit many machines but when you're using many machines keep changing the batteries is a pain in the backside I'd rather have a tool that came with two batteries so I'm not swapping batteries from one tool to the other while working.
Neither the bandsaw nor the x20 circ saw in stock in my store. Excellent video as usual, cheers or CHEERS !! ha ha.
I got the 3 in 1 too as a back up to my others and some snips and metal plates + Blueberry n Blackcurrant yoghurts 😜
NO band saw in my store either but I didn't want it anyway.
Was thinking about the Sabre saw and Nailer/Stapler but held off for now. They did have the proper Impact driver in but they were the full kit, battery n charger, about £55-£60, I already have one. Just saying as you said your mate who got the drill refund was waiting for them to return, maybe he needs a different store.
Nice demo of the nailer/stapler but still in 2 minds. Thank you, Richy 😃👍
Thanks for the heads up - yep saw the all in one “impact wrench” for sale but as it was advertised as being a “vehicle wrench” thought I’d wait for one advertised as an impact driver in case the fittings / accessories were different… :-)
@@peteg5389 Yes, the 3 in 1 Impact is basically just a hammer drill as opposed to the Vehicle Impact Wrench. The No. on mine is PASSK 20-LI B2 (with battery and charger) but probably different now as mine is about 1yr old. They do sometimes sell them as bare units also so will save you cash if you have enough batteries and chargers.
Regards, Richy 👍
I've been thinking about the nailer but I don't have any parkside batteries nor a charger so I'll have factor that into the price compared to getting an Einhell one for which I have the batteries.
I think this time Lidl have made a mistake with the description of the 3 in 1. That is definitely a hammer drill, not an impact driver. Impact drivers use the 'hex shank' bits and sits in hex shank chuck to ensure there is no slippage between the chuck and the bit which guarantees that the impact is transferred from the chuck to the bit. The tool is still good value as a hammer drill/driver, but an impact tool ... it is not. Like the review and I'm sure it will help others to avoid making the mistake.
Good stuff 👍
Nooice!
Another great video have you done a review of the screwdriver bit set 71 piece
Would have been nice to pick up the bandsaw but neither of my local Lidl's even had space on the shelves for them. did however manage to pick up one of the 1/2" impact wrenches
Hi Just joined your channel and loving the content! Have already been the middle of Lidl to check out the stuff. Have they ever done a random orbital sander which I would like to?
Bought the nailer a year or so ago. Stapler basically became unusable after a few weeks. Nailer kept jamming about every 10 shots.
Still use it as I really wanted a nail gun for woodworking but I’ve been disappointed.
treated myself to the carpenter pencils pack today (my last pencil lost its lead!), with pencil sharpener included, there might be more purchases next week though?
Great vids
I watch these then go to lidl ireland and realise you have a much better selection over in the UK
We only get about half the choice and never have the app discounts 😢
On the Lathe
you got
turn some nice wooden handles for old tool iE screw drivers that have been used as chisels
we all have them
but don't throw them away LoL 😂😂😂or when you have mastered that do bigger one's so you can just fit together make a nice lamp lol
Don’t know if anyone has experience of the 20v cordless impact wrench but I tried to change a tyre with it this morning and it was useless. Never moved any of the wheel nuts. Ended up calling the professionals to do the job
Just been to Lidl and bought the Biscuit Joiner there were only 2 left
Hi, I’ve got the one with the Leccy cable, had it a while, now I’ve almost run out of nails, but don’t know where I can get some more. Is it online or could I get the local? Thanks in advance.
Could of bought a Parkside drill and more for the price i paid for Milwaukee Drill and 1/2 inch impact wrench about £450. Did have a Parkside battery drill/screw driver lasted over ten years.
Hi there. I’ve been keeping my eye out for the cordless multi tool but haven’t found it yet in my local Lidl in Northern Ireland. Do you have any experience or thoughts on it?
Hi Rob great video as always I've been thinking about getting the parkside nail gun so I'm 100% going to pick one up when they come back in again I dropped you a we email last week I think keep the videos coming take care
I went into our local Lidl only a small store had a few tools then hiding on a different aisle was one wet and dry vacuum cleaner so I bought it 39 quid 😂😂
Wish they'd remember there's Lidl in Northern Ireland. All we get is batteries. 500 batteries for every 1 tool.
That's where all the batteries go I've been trying to buy a new battery for months and they never have them in.
It’s subjective but I’m wondering if it’s worth getting the impact drill or waiting for a proper hammer wireless hammer drill that does other bits as well. I have the power drill already
I can't wait for the next saw you test out on that piece of cls with all those brads, staples and screws in 😂
I was hoping (and pretty sure you would) buy the nailer. I have a project in mind for its corded cousin. I'll hold out for that coz its half the price i think. €19.99 compared to €39.99 in Ireland. I have a few batteries but wouldn't get the use out of it i think.
thanks for the info dude. Shame that they don't drop that many tools around me 🫣 Great video mam!
I bought some Lidl chisels in the past and spent a couple of hours flattening the backs and sharpening them while watching mindless bolllocks on the tele. There are now more than good enough to be chucking in my working away from the workshop box and I'm not that bothered if I lose them because they were so cheap. I do still go mad if the female members of the family look like they are about to use them to open tins of paint.
I was there yesterday, no bandsaw, but I'm reasonably sure what one of your new tools is. Does it rhyme with pointer?
york has the circular saw but no bandsaw
Err...if this is the same as my corded Parkside nailer, the side of the magazine meant for loading nails has got a groove in it to accommodate the nail heads so they lie flush in the magazine - thus avoiding the misfires you were experiencing.
You were loading them on the wrong side at first.
Easily done, though...
Hi Rob I'm tempted by the cordless nailer even though I've got a 230v one. Just wondering how long 4Ah battery takes to charge from flat?
I know Parkside do an 1/2" impact, but do they do a 3 /8" cordless ratchet wrench?
Who starts a mailer on 1!!! Power power power! I’ve got the corded version but I’m out now to get that as it looks much better than the corded one and runs longer Brad nails
Does the nailer do "bumpfire" or is it trigger only to fire?
Might get that nail gun thing
I bought the nailer today and it's equally as bad as the Aldi Ferrex one, it jams up or does not feed brads just as badly
I think the problem is of too much force of baterry...
Normaly i remember when i use 2Ah the power is little bit lower than 4Ah... i think its depend on average voltage cells inside and numbers of it... (in 4Ah You have more 18650 cells than 2Ah)
(when i put 4Ah on grass trimmer the the number of turnovers has increased much more than 2Ah...)
Maybe this is the reason shooting through nails...
Greeting from Poland :)
No, the tongue comes out too far, pushing the nail too far.
I'm sick of getting to Lidl and the tool I want is gone, only to find them double in price on eBay. Really wanted the 20v ratchet wrench to help work on my van.
Hereford branch is a pain for that, they go straight down to the market with them 😢
@alanhat5252 sad as it seems, I went to 7 of my local-ish stores 😂 apparently some of them didn't even get the 20v ratchet in. I'm going to pop into my local to see if they've got any in today.
@@alanhat5252 went to my local this morning, they had the ratchet wrench in but I had to ask as it wasn't on display. 👌🏼
My Lidl has All the 20v bare tools but no batteries. Doh!!!
Fab vid as usual Rob....I wonder how much money you've spent on Parkside tools exactly now?
The fact it has clutch settings for control means it is a driver. A standard drill, impact or not doesn't have that... I read on and see what Pete is saying. There is no impact on the driver settings Only drill. Apologies, I jumped the gun with replying
Hi rob have you tried peach ice tea on lid. it is really good drink it cold it will taste better i think. can you drink it without it being cold.
we have nott as many tols in lidl her as you gott .
i like your videos god info and test
have a nice day. from sweden
Hi Rob, are the £9.99 wood chisels already sharpened, or Blanks, to sharpen yourself ? (like my "Stanley", from Arnold Laver's ones were, a few year ago)
Damn. My nearest discount is Aldi so I have gone with Ferrex but I'll say it again...maybe I should have travelled the few miles for Parkside just for the cases!
Maybe next time they have something in I want...I'll bite the bullet and go for it complete with Parkside battery and charger even though I'm doubling up.
Aldi seem to have reined right back on their tools these days....last decent thing I got from Aldi was a Ferrex screwdriver for £14. It is great.
@@thepangolin5022 I think you're right. I bought the drill last year and the impact driver this year but there's nothing much else so far.
you would probably use higher number on tacker for harder wood buddy
Cheers buddy.. I would have thought the indent would have been greater though.. but I suppose it doesn’t work like that 😂 I need some harder wood 😉👌
@@WeekendShedHead Yes it is strange the indent is not greater but well see look forward to next video budy
I turned up for a cordless bandsaw. Needless to say, there weren't any, & never was.
No way that should ever be called an impact driver. As pretty much everyone knows an impact driver actually uses a rotary hammer while the hammer action on masonry is in line with the bit.
No
The. Umbers are for harder woods
Thanks mate.. I was thinking the indent would have been greater though.. but I suppose it doesn’t work like that 😂 I’m getting sone harder wood . Cheers Rob
@@WeekendShedHeadit looks like the indent is from the tongue coming out too far, nothing to do with the power dial. You could maybe glue a bit of card beside the aperture?
how big of a nail can you use on the nailer?
I think he read 32mm in the manual.
PS the 75mm "grinder" is actually a cutoff tool. I was looking at the Makita version only last week...
Just picked up the corded router to replace the one I've had for 27 years.
No 20V 4aH power cells again. They really need to get them in store as their service agent Novo charge £10 more plus £4 postage. Rip off!
😂 Rubber, Rubber, Rubber! Rubber on my tools!
Bought that nailer about 3 months ago, returned it the next day, it is terrible. I have the Aldi version about 6 years and it's a beast. Was hoping that the Lidl one would be a lighter alternative but it was just terrible, adjustment is so poor.
I am about to watch the vid but thought I would comment before as I have some experience with this model or its twin, years ago I bought the Ferrex nail/staple gun it was so good I bought a second one they have a metal magazine and do occasionally jam as all nailguns do, I am a professional user and mine get used for fixing grp trims. Recently ALDI released the version with the plastic magazine, similar if not the same as the one just released by Lidl, I purchased it and after about 30 minutes of testing it I returned it for a refund, its not a patch on the original, jams constantly, irregular hit strength, just absolute garbage.
Ps don't forget to do it outside of shed takes to long clean up
Could you do a more indepth review of the batteries need n charges , cost etc
Will do buddy.. I’m going to do a durability test soon 😉 Cheers Rob
The difference in 4 & 2 aph batteries is capacity not power, like a 4 gallon tank to a 2 gallon , same motor more range
Yes, I always thought the same.. but I’ve tried 12v batteries on tools (2 ah and 4 ah ) and on these 20v and both there is a notable difference ! And fully charged . Cheers Rob
technically correct, however, internally the 4Ahr are wired as 2x 2Ahr in parallel. so they are capable of delivering that larger capacity with more power. so its like having 2 pipes on your 4 gallon tank making it capable of increased flow.
Must’ve been your other left then Rob. 🤣🤣
Dos any one know why in uk lidl do not have parkside performance tools (brushless)
I bought bluetooth batery 4ah from eBay. Want 8ah buy bit expensive on eBay would prefer to buy frol lidl because of warranty.
ther shoud be a nail and brad image on left and right on nailer
I tried to buy a whole host of tools from Parkside online - it's been quite a while since the order date and not received anything. I am very worried it was a scam. Just a warning for others.
