Cabinelf. Have been viewing your stuff for several years now, including many of the older ones, and this is without a doubt the single most BEAUTIFUL piece you have ever created. Well worth the effort!
It's really fun seeing Chris (Four Eyes Furniture) delve into epoxy tables and now you delve into more "traditional" woodworking stuff. It's great to see some of my favorite builders step outside their comfort zones.
Love this build and your videos. Thanks for bringing inspiration to an aspiring woodworker. I'm three years into my woodworking journey, but your videos push me to try new things. Thank you!
I think the copper would have looked SUPER GOOD if instead of just doing bright bare metal, you'd burnished, oxidized, or tarnished it. It really just needed to be a little darker and have some variation in the colors. That being said I think it turned out extremely well. It's a very pretty piece, one that I would be happy to have in my home... if I had anywhere near enough money to be able to afford your pieces lmao. If I might make a suggestion: A matching floating enclosed bookshelf or record shelf that could go on the wall above it or nearby. Something with half the depth and height perhaps. I think that would look SUPERB.
It’s great that you take us along for your journey without pretending that you know everything. Your taking us along as you learn whilst still creating amazing pieces. Very humble and entertaining.
Bookcase, shelf... It's wonderful!!! Descobri seu canal agora e estou AMANDO seus projetos!!! Esse em especial é LINDO!!! Quero um!!! Parabéns pelo maravilhoso trabalho. Conquistou uma fã do Brasil 🇧🇷💕
I'm a house carpenter. One time I couldn't get the skirting to match the existing stuff In a big old fancy house. Spent weeks routing and sanding to make the skirting boards. This was just another level of hard work. And the results were amazing. This channel is great. It has inspired me to fill my garage with native timber over the last couple of years for that "one day" project.
This is a bookshelf that defies description and I love it. I agree that it is easily in the top three of anything I have seen you build. I put almost 40 hours in making a segmented bowl for my wife, so for you to make this piece of art as quickly as you did is amazing.
Bookshelf. Holy crud, this may also be my favourite build of yours. I was sceptical throughout the project but it came together in the end so tastefully. Been loving these more creative experimentations you've been churning out the last year or so... even if your wife begs to differ. Great job, Cam.
Both bookshelf and cabinet. Love the lights. I am always impressed with your dedication to not giving up, and pushing forward. I really felt for you in the carving sanding phase. While it was torture, you have a wonderful creation and I am sure you are very proud of it. Always a pleasure to see your works and videos!
It’s an Art-Shelf… in itself it is an incredible piece of art and craftsmanship which could be used to showcase other pieces of arts and craft works. Truly impressive and awe inspiring.
I don't know if Ive hand sanded quite as much on a single project but I absolutely know the feeling.. you get to the point where you feel like the sand paper stops working
It's a credenza. Absolutely love you going outside your comfort zone and trying new things. Your creativity is really coming through. It's a joy to watch and learn.
Agree on credenza. Gotta say that the hammered blued steel backing is an excellent choice to contrast the walnut. It looks stellar in a kind of retro-futuristic way (think how the 60's saw the future). It would look right at home in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
I think that you could've used a liquid instant patina on the copper sheets to make them that reddish-brown of old pipes and pennies. Just re-pound the copper with the bigger hammer. After all of this hand sanding you now have arms of steel.
That out of body experience is the spiritual pinnacle of sculptural woodworking that you never knew was your goal all along! This is the grail experience that sculptors have always aspired to: Float above yourself, watching yourself sand.
I'd probably classify this as a cabinet but honestly it's a work of art first and foremost, and who cares what you wanna call it other than gorgeous. The combination of highly organic wooden aspects and the handworked metal effect are lovely, but the lights really elevate it to a new level, truly inspiring and amazing work.
It is a bookshelf cabinet made for displaying just about anything you want to display, very unique conversation piece representing untold hours of thought, work, skill, imagination, and dedication to a project that can be just about anything you want it to be. To me, that is a beautiful piece of artwork that could be purposed in multitude of ways by the lucky owner. I would proudly have it displayed in my home. The dark stained wood contrasts very well with the blued and hammered steel back panel, loved it! You outdid yourself, again!!! No pressure, but I look forward to more fabulous creations from you. Cheers 😊
it really is something huh. i was curious how much it is and its......$30000. i get it. it was 150 HOURS which comes to 200/hr which seems about right for an amazing furniture maker. the cost of materials, labor, etc. but i really wonder what kind of person is able to buy a cabinet/bookshelf/etc for 30k. i think my mom would love this. i have 30k.. however it would be not smart of me to buy something thats 30k lol
@@pvic6959 rather than focusing on the price, I would look more towards the value. Now and in the future. The market for furniture, hand-crafted with strong provenance is always buoyant. Also the high-end corporate and hospitality sector would always be buyers of such fine design and craftsmanship. In this sector you could add another zero to that price and it would still sell out faster than they could be made. (Not that I anticipate that this craftsman would be in any way interested in volume production).
Fascinating video. My favorite projects are always the ones where I don't know exactly what I'm doing, new tools, new techniques. Mistakes are made along the way, lessons are learned, and in the end it looks beautiful.
Shelf for sure. Loving this project, Cam! I see you really experimenting and coming out of your comfort zone recently, especially in the last view videos, which is amazing. Not sure what to call it other than freakin' awesome. The lights are a great touch, adds some copper-y tones to the wood giving homage to your initial idea for the metal panels.
Hey Cam. These portable drum sanders can be a pain. But a trick i came up with somehow is to spray a light mist of 3M Super 77 onto the bare mandrel. I turn the sander on and just lightly spritz the mandrel. Then wrap the sand paper strip. It will go on a lot better and it will stay put a bit better. It also helps to keep the paper tight to the mandrel while you’re happily struggling to get the paper into that second clip. To clean between sandpaper change outs i just LIGHTLY dampen a rag with a solvent like paint thinner. Turn the drum on and carefully touch the rag to the spinning mandrel. It will clean the old adhesive off nicely.
I just love the chemistry you've got with your cameraman. Kudos to both of you, it brings a warm touch to your videos which were good before, but are even better now.

Cabinet. Looks like something Fred Flintstone would use. Absolutely brilliant, the radiuses corners a similar to a mid century modern inspired media center I built, but yours is way much more difficult. Congrats on seeing it through, it’s is fabulous and so organic looking!
Whatever you want to call it, its absolutely amazing craftsmanship and looks freaking amazing. Great choice with the blue ginmetals look with bigger dents. That looked such much better swapping out the copper.
Bookshelf. Damn this is a stunning piece. And so happy with your choice of the backplates. The copper was way to warm to go against a warm wood specie. The gun metal look was spot on and a great contrast. I really love these videos where you are playing and learning on the go. What a legend you have become.
This shelf unit is stunning! I watched the whole project over a few days. You actually got through that sanding ordeal!!! I’ve sanded a few things before and hated it. I don’t know how you managed to stay with it. Your design is very beautiful. Even though it has simple lines, it’s very complicated with all those pieces of wood and rounded angles. The shelf unit is smooth and so very elegant.
This piece is absolutely incredible. The astounding fact that you were forced to wing it in some places is mind boggling. The in laid lights are also a great touch.

I’ve been very frustrated with the dearth of information on the internet for the same and decided to build them all myself, since I’ve done all the work on my house (sans plumbing and electrical). Thank you for the inspiration and confidence-building videos. The way you story tell your process (errors and foibles and all) really makes me feel like - “yep…you can do this”. Cheers
It's a cabinet, too deep for a bookshelf. Wow, Cam, this is unbelievable. So glad you're really exploring the artistry of your work. That is fantastic and well worth the effort. Congrats! And love the finish, really brings out the color of the walnut and has a stunning effect with the lighting.
Cabinet looks great! My first thought seeing it complete was entertainment center, it would look great as a main piece in the living room. The process looks truly brutal but the end result is fantastic.
After watching its completion I immediately thought of using it as a mini bar and as a display cabinet for all my Tequila, Whisky and Cognac bottles. It’s a great piece of art, too bad I can’t afford it. Great video. Thanks for posting.
Wow! I love that you added the lights. I don't think it would work as a bookshelf because of the rounded edges, but it would make a lovely cabinet to display some art glass pieces.
The hidden lights just take it to another level. Great job man keep up the good work and don't let your viewers tell you not to expand your skills. I love your videos, and Scott does an amazing job at editing them.
The uniqueness of this piece is fascinating and spellbinding to me. I love the walnut you use, and how complex you built the piece. You are VERY talented!!

This is awesome great work and great content. U should be proud
...using his "traditional woodworking" chainsaw 😉
I think that would look SUPERB.
varnished copper looks great
I was thinking it should have been sandblasted after hammering.
It’s great that you take us along for your journey without pretending that you know everything. Your taking us along as you learn whilst still creating amazing pieces. Very humble and entertaining.
This guys is so focused on his projects. A perfectionist no doubt. And this project is absolutely beautiful.
No thanks
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist8 not to be rude but dont you think that is a little off topic?
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist8 can always do with a reminder to praise God for this day. Amen to that.
This is a bookshelf that defies description and I love it. I agree that it is easily in the top three of anything I have seen you build. I put almost 40 hours in
making a segmented bowl for my wife, so for you to make this piece of art as quickly as you did is amazing.
Definitely agree: Credenza
Agree on credenza. Gotta say that the hammered blued steel backing is an excellent choice to contrast the walnut. It looks stellar in a kind of retro-futuristic way (think how the 60's saw the future).
It would look right at home in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
I think that you could've used a liquid instant patina on the copper sheets to make them that reddish-brown of old pipes and pennies. Just re-pound the copper with the bigger hammer. After all of this hand sanding you now have arms of steel.
It is neither a bookcase nor a cabinet - it is simply a beautiful piece of art.
That out of body experience is the spiritual pinnacle of sculptural woodworking that you never knew was your goal all along! This is the grail experience that sculptors have always aspired to: Float above yourself, watching yourself sand.
😂😂😂
This is one of the greatest woodworking projects I’ve ever seen in my life. What a stunning result.
Right there with you on this. Cabinet, bookcase whatever it's gorgeous! Wouldn't mind more of this. We know he's not going to do it again. 😂
Absolutely gorgeous. The process was great to watch, and the finished product was jaw dropping. Lights were an amazing touch
It is a bookshelf cabinet made for displaying just about anything you want to display, very unique conversation piece representing untold hours of thought, work, skill, imagination, and dedication to a project that can be just about anything you want it to be. And I am thoroughly impressed! Thank you Cam!
a bookinet or a cabinelf?
I love your creativity. How could anything new ever be created if wonderful craftsmen like you don't step out of their comfort zone. Thank you! It looks awesome!
Totally enjoyed this cabinet build and your humour. Really impressed with your follow thru, and that you share so much free information on what and why you are doing. Please keep sharing your talent.
Hi,Cam.I'm Gennady, I live in Estonia, I'm Russian. A couple of weeks ago I accidentally saw your channel on UA-cam, I liked your work and how you tell and show everything. I wish you good luck and good clients
dude that came out sooooooooo much better than I was imagining from the glue-up stage. the hidden lights was the icing on the cake. well done sir.
I was blown away too
Seriously, it was pretty meh until it all came together at the end.
Bookshelf or maybe a TV stand? 🤔 I always enjoy your projects, and honestly what I really enjoy about you and your process is that you're always challenging yourself with new and unique ideas or techniques. Also, like the copper, you're not afraid to admit that something isn't working and move on. Both of these things make you more talented and fun to watch!
I was going about the same lines. Would say bookshelf, but it's a little bit on the small side.
YES! A TV stand.
I’ll know I’ve made it in life when I have at least one piece of your furniture in my house. You’re such an inspiration, your joy and humor are so contagious. You are so talented you deserve more recognition.
Also this is my favorite of your projects as well.
I mean If you're comparing him to any fine Carpenter, having a UA-cam Channel with thousands of subscribers doing mostly epoxy Projects, Not even flattening the Tables yourself - it seems Like he Has plenty of recognition for what he Has to offer as talent.
@@JustiaFiat lol whatever dude. You just had to say something. You couldn’t just scroll past this. You had to comment on it and say pretty much the opposite of what I had to say. I bet You’re fun at parties. I bet you’re picked first in games too.
@@JustiaFiathe’s got more talent in his left thumb than you have in your entire body. If someone gave you the wood, epoxy, literally all the material needed to make a river table you wouldn’t have the first idea how to do it.
There’s a reason why he does what he loves for a living while making shit tons of money and you take orders from a guy behind a desk pushing pencils.
I really loved that this was the actualising of something on your mind for a while and what sems like a whimsicle undertaking. That it turned out so gorgeous is heart warming as it was clear how much of your gut went into it's creation (to say nothing of your time, energy and money!). Thanks for your enteertaining and inspiring share 🤩
Display Cabinet - this is the most beautiful cabinet I think I've ever seen! Watching your process is mind boggling - you are such a productive perfectionist, which is really unusual. And the video production on this project was perfect. Bravo!
This is definetely your best project by far. Amazing finishing, hope you get the views this piece of art deserves.
I don’t really care if it’s called a cabinet, bookshelf, credenza or some other variations of the aforementioned.
Never been a woodworker but an architecture student, and your dedication, attention to detail, and willingness to re-evaluate your design are super inspiring.
I feel like every video lately has been the "most difficult project of your life". Which, I guess, is a great sign that you're really pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone :) Awesome!
Cabinet! In my opinion it has a Danish furniture vibe. It’s a very handsome piece and the hidden lights really make all that walnut pop! ❤ Well done!
I've honestly never seen someone so committed and work so hard for such an amazing end result. Truly a journey I enjoyed all the way to the amazing end!
I am a want to be woodworker. I started dabbing in woodworking when I had a third grandchild. I made her a pink rocking scooter using a pattern. I did learn a lot doing the project, but I want to go beyond following a pattern . You have inspired me too designed some thing . I want to make to side tables for my grandkids bedrooms. With your videos I have learned about a variety of tools I may get some new ones, but not as sophisticated as yours. You are an inspiration. Thanks for the videos.
Its channels like this i wish would upload more frequently, but the sheer volume of work that goes into each project is what makes it worth the wait
You put in so much work building this TV cabinet. For me it looks like a TV cabinet. You can put a TV on top, DVD player, amplifier, and so on. I definitely would like to see more of you videos. Thanks for sharing.
I've watched a lot of your videos Cam. This one is the first that has compelled me to comment.
This looks absolutely beautiful. Like absolutely unreal. (I'm aussie, it's a compliment) wheb i got to the end and saw the finished product. I made an audible *pwoah* sound. When it lit up too, I physically gasped.
I've wanted a house so I can build a workshop for so long, and all of your videos just inspire me all the more to work harder and get that garage shop going.
Not only are all your videos extremely informative, but with every video, I feel like they get funnier and funnier, too. I know you don't need anyone's approval or validation. But you are nailing absolutely everything you are doing!
Thanks Cam
OTHER! Gorgeous for displaying art like pottery, sculpture or other unique/historical pieces. Far too pretty for books or knickknacks. I can't imagine the sanding pain, all those curves! Bravo!
As someone who used to build custom cabinets and millwork for high end real-estate I gotta commend you on your work. Truly a beautiful piece of furniture there. As you learned it takes a certain mindset to do that kind of work full time. thanks for posting this vid, really enjoyed it.
Bookshelf or cabinet. Doesn’t matter it looks amazing. Could also be just an art piece if the buyer wants. Strong work Cam Love it
If you plan on using the UV cure finish more frequently you should probably buy some sort of protective UV blocking glasses that work for the UV wavelength emitted by the UV flashlight.
Or rub sunscreen in your eyes...
It was in the video...
It's funny how many comments of people telling this dude what he should and shouldn't do. You think maybe he's made it this far because he's a smart guy and takes risks? Safety Sally type folks never can quite get their feet off the ground ( it's dangerous) good grief.
Bookshelf. Go to 28:39 and he has BOZ glasses on for that exact reason. You were probably typing while that part went past.
LOL..Safety Sally...!!!@@timjohnson8390
Gorgeous! Your tools, shop, patience and capabilities are outstanding! This is the first video I have watched from you. Keep up the good work!
Not a big fan of the steel, but this is a thing of beauty, both the whole process and the final result. I also liked that your friend/camera man was just honest with you about the copper, that's the kind of friend you need right there. This is the first video I've seen, but definitely not the last. Subscribed!
WORK OF ART!!! Not just a cabinet or book shelf. It’s absolutely beautiful 😍
Not really into woodworking but subbed after the finished project 🤷🏾♂️
The coolest (Flintstone) cubby hole cabinet I've ever seen... no disrespect. AMAZING WORK and a beautiful piece !!!
This is by far the most beautiful cabinet I’ve ever seen. Great work Cam
**tv stand**
Bookshelf. Damn this is a stunning piece. And so happy with your choice of the backplates. The copper was way to warm to go against a warm wood specie. The gun metal look was spot on and a great contrast. I really love these videos where you are playing and learning on the go. What a legend you have become.
C’est magnifique cette bibliothèque !!!! Bravo ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You built a beautiful audio cabinet. I’d be proud to display some very expensive audio equipment with a cabinet such as this.
Its a peeeen
This cabinet is 29,000 dollars, I'm sure one is displaying the expensive cabinet with their audio equipment.
@@Lowlanders for that price, this should have been carved from solid log.
24:18 for thin metal sheets excluding stainless steel well doing tool is a nozzle drill nibblers. Very cool thing for less than 50$ you can work easy and safe. We cut metal of steel electrical panels (about 1mm steel ~0.04"). Use high torque battery drill about 1500 rpm. Great work, Can, I like the way you do it. Good luck, friend!
Bookshelf cabinet? I don't know, but the lights really take the finish to another level. Awesome project, as always
Bookcabinet! That's an awesome build, and to be honest I think you've created a new category of furniture! It looks fantastic, and should frankly be in a museum of modern art! Keep up the awesome work! 😁👍
Coffee table, bookshelf, TV stand, whatever, it should be the centerpiece of anything, anywhere. It's a thing of beauty.
The beauty that you have built can be used for anything. It is so beautiful. I am totally thrilled by your workmanship and your patience good going mate.
I have yet to learn about cabinetry, tools, workmanship, etc. I couldn't build my way out of a paper bag if my life depended on it. However, I am absolutely enamored by the artistic quality of your work. It is absolutely stunning!
Aside from that epic slab on your back wall, this too is one of my favorite projects you've done. Beautiful work as always!
hey cam, just wanna say thanks for making today so much better and I really liked this piece. I don't do woodworking myself and I am also 12 but from watching your videos, I have learned so much info that I feel like a wood worker. I would love to see more pieces like this from you in the future. I really like when you use Mappa burl to make any piece so please keep making vids with that wood.
Ps. it is a shelf for the floor
If you like watching videos on woodworking, give it a try. With time, you'll be able to do these, and even better!
Your videos are awesome. You officially became my wood-working hero and inspiration to start my own journey. I’m currently half way through a gut remodel of my house and I’ve designed a lot of built in cabinetry (and also want real wood kitchen cabinets).
Congrats! And love the finish, really brings out the color of the walnut and has a stunning effect with the lighting.
also too rounded for books, unless you were going to place a single old/rare book on a shelf to admire.
A beautiful cabinet. He always finds a way to make perfection from imperfection. Mad respect.
WOW Cam, every build is a home run, but this was a Grand Slam! It's beautiful.
Perfect area to display sleeping cats! LOVE it!
As always, you've done some of your best and worst work while outside your comfort zone. Definitely makes for some fun viewing!
Being a cabinetmaker, it is definitely a cabinet! A gorgeous piece in fact! Love your work.
The lights took it to the next level... I think the copper would've looked pretty cool with the lights
The saw dust and laugh at the end absolutely killed me. Amazing video and build as always. I get cool abstract 50's vibes for a cabinet.
The uniqueness of this piece is fascinating and spellbinding to me. I love the walnut you use, and how complex you built the piece. You are VERY talented!!
