Legendary Vusi Mahlasela unsung SA musical genius, I like his timeless songs my favorites being : FOUNTAIN and THE EARTH I KNOW IS A WOMAN best pieces from this Godsend , Long live my brother, your music will sustain long after we've departed !!
I wokeup with his "Tonkana" song in my ear just the other day and i played it the whole day on repeat... and then i bumb in to this days later? Whaat!?😮Woow...thank you King Dave❤
His "Tonkana"song when it plays i always cry it's reminds me of my late cousin who was struck by lightning December 1989 ,i was with him 1 or 2 hours before he died ,
When elders talk we should listen and learn. Dr Vusi Mahlasela ka Dhlamini is a spiritual man. To understand him in 2010 the opening of 2010 world cup he played his song "when we come back", all African singers joined him on stage to sing and that was so prophetic.I can say alot,I'm fond of him and have great respect for him. He is related with the King of Swaziland.
Great show as always. Thabk you Malome Vusi. My Mother told me the there a lot of people in Mamelodi who faught against the system. There is one of the first young comrade to skip in Transvaal from Mamelodi C4 and my late Uncle and fought with MPLA miltary wing against UNita and SADF and 2 of his friends from Mam West C4 uptown. My mother shared with us the Black power era exepiriances , harassment from Special Branch and Soilders. Our Parent have interesting stories of how they resisted the system. It invloved small thing such as dressing up welll to improve your self esteem , rejecting Bantu education , the power of arts in awaking political awareness.
I’ve listened to his songs since I was 4/5 years old especially silang mabele, used to sing it when I was young thanks for the good music and making my childhood memorable ntate 👏🏾
Malume le Abuti ba kasi, proud Mamelodian signing in. Had the honour to share a few words with the great visiting his home ko D3 (or D2)😊. Kana Bra David, you can actually walk there from your home to his or la tlhakana ko Mashika la ja nama😂

I agree 💯 with Dr Mahlasela, like our GNU and party deployees or proportional representation as opposed to Constituency based elections for candidates we know, trust and may recall without democratic centralism of a party politics. Thank you Dr. Vusi Mahlasela. I used to play the base guitar as he explained.
Aah Bra Vusi mentioned Bra Kelley Petlane who was such an influential to many Jazz Gurus of Mzansi ,please Mdeva invite Bra Vusi Khumalo our best Mzansi "Drumist" he has work with all this Musician I know that he worked with Bra Khaya Mahlangu Macoy, Paul Helmer,Denniss Mpale.❤❤❤❤
Yes, I agree with evil music like what our Youth see on TV . They end up taking drugs, alcohol, and expensive clothes. One young client I had told me he is not interested in schooling , wants his single Mom to buy him Labe clothes, tekkie for R3000 etc. Our government is failing us on what is shown on TV.
@David You depriving us the wisdom when you ask for happy moments instead of those sad moments. this will teach us not to fall into those same traps they have fallen into.
I feel that it was important to highlight these hardships, so that we need to change for the better. But I honestly understand your perspective! God bless Africa
I was not sure if I should watch this interview, I'm glad I did...POWERFUL!!!
