- There is so much beauty and variety in the Black Hills of South Dakota and the Peter Norbeck National Scenic Byway encompases it all. Come along as we drive the Needles Highway, get stopped by a mountain goat as we squeeze through a tunnel, find a field of bison, and try not to get carsick on the Iron Mountain Road. We even drive by Mt. Rushmore and check out the progress at the Crazy Horse memorial. Buckle up!

Thanks for that video, I really enjoyed it. I was fortunate enough to spend 8 days in the Black Hills on the Harley last fall, after 30 years from my previous trip there. I’m going to show this video to my wife in hopes of going back with her this time. Take care!
Definitely some incredible motorcycle riding in that area. Hopefully, you will get to bring your wife there soon. Lots of things to see and do in a car or on a bike.
I came across your video and I am impressed of the footage as well as the way how you presented it. I am from South Dakota and I want to thank you for coming to visit our underrated state.
Thank you so much! We absolutely LOVE visiting South Dakota and come back as often as possible. We appreciate your supportive comments! Thanks for watching. :)
Fantastic video. I live in Hot Springs, up the road from all of this. Yours is the best and most concise video I have seen of the area. Thank you!
Wow, thanks! What a sweet comment. We LOVE visiting that area of South Dakota and will definitely be back. :)
I am so glad your video showed up on my feed! I am visiting this Sept and Custer State Park is on my list. I am adding this to our itenerary. Thank you so much!!! 🤩
Awesome! The drive as well worth it. So many things to see and experience just from the road. I hope you have a blast!
Just returned from the area. Would recommend to anyone. Some great natural beauty.
No doubt about it! It is an incredible area. We are ready to go back!
Wow I loved this video I grew up in the Black Hills & miss them . I am home bound living in west Texas
Glad you were able to enjoy this beautiful area through our video. We LOVE South Dakota and can't wait to go back!
Stunning views! Your dog is so cute!
Thank you so much! He is definitely a cutie and a great traveler. Safe travels and happy camping!
One of the best of the series. Loved it!
Thanks Charlie!
Went there last year stayed in Rapid City...saw everything, had a good time...oohhh and at the Reptile gardens you can feed and pet the giant turtles (cannot spell Geloppas).) They roam freely all around you. And at the bear park thingie, they are right up close to your car..but keep the windows up. I enjoyed it all.
Sounds like a great trip! We would love to check out those turtles the next time we are in the area. Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment!
We just got back from the black hills. It’s so charming and rugged at the same time.
Absolutely agree! What a gorgeous place with lots of variety and wildlife. Can’t wait to get back there!
Thank you for this video - so informative and entertaining at the same time! We're planning a trip to this area next month and really appreciate you sharing your experience with us 😃
That’s awesome! Thank you so much for the feedback. Safe travels and have a wonderful time!
I can't wait to drive on them roads. 2 more weeks lol
Sounds awesome! I hope you have a wonderful visit.
OMG we did the Custer park roads 2 years ago AMAZING!! Looks like when you went there wasn't as many people there. We went in July and even in the early morning there were so many traffic... or should I say goat and buffalo jams lol. Great video really enjoyed it. Stay safe and Happy travels.
Thank you so much! Yes, it was nice to not have too many crowds. We tried to do as many things early in the morning as possible. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Great video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice video.
We were there July 2020
That’s awesome! Such a beautiful place to visit.
Great 👍..we are going for this drive tomorrow on Christmas Day

Just found your channel!! Loving all the videos!! Awesome!!! :)
Wonderful! Welcome to our channel. We are thrilled to have you along for our adventures. Have fun and safe travels!
Your videos are just amazing. So informative and helpful. Wish others would make more of this kind of videos instead of the sedentary talking. Really enjoyed watching👍😁
Thank you so much! We are thrilled that you like the videos and appreciate you leaving a comment. 😊
I just came across this video. Great job. I love it! We are headed there in a little over a week. As a part 107 FAA certified pilot, I also appreciated the reference to the legality of the drone use in the state park vs federal. I would love to hear of any other areas that you recommend for this as well. Thank you for sharing and, once again, great job!
Thanks so much! Glad that you enjoyed the video. That part of South Dakota is just stunning! We can’t wait to go back!!
@@TodayisanAdventureDay - You should definitely come up and check out the White Mountain National Forest here in NH sometime as well if you get the chance. ;)
This was a great video! We've really enjoyed your South Dakota series - your drone skills are really amazing! Right when we wondered "can you drone the wildlife loop??" you talked about it.... talk about good timing! - Aaron & Nicole
Thank you so much for the sweet comment! So happy that you are enjoying the videos. We have two more video to come in our South Dakota series. Thanks so much for following our channel! 😊
@@TodayisanAdventureDay yay two more episodes! We like how you've broken them into smaller episodes - we're thinking of trying that approach when we go next summer.
We love your channel. We are RVers who live in central MO. Would to do a meet up
Thank you so much for the kind comment! We will look at our upcoming camping calendar and see if we can find something centrally located that might work. It would be fun to meet at some point.
Another great video! Thanks! BTW: Based partially on your input, I ordered a Rad Mini Step Through each for my wife and me (we are both in our early 60s). We look forward to them coming in around Oct 5th!!
Awesome! We can’t wait to hear what you think. We hope you love them as much as we do. Best wishes and happy riding!
Will be heading there on a motorcycle trip mid-September for the first time from Nevada. I followed your routing from start to finish on a map so that was very helpful for guidance. My question is what was the total trip time in your video ? it looks like it was all done in one day… so I can get an idea and is it something that I will do or would want to do in one day on a motorcycle? Also where would you recommend staying and how many days should I stay in the area before I start to head back to Nevada? THANKS
You can definitely do that route easily (even with scenic stops) in a day. Not sure what to suggest regarding how many days in the area because there is so much to see and do. It just depends on whether or not you want to do hiking or other tourist stuff.
What do u mean a “registered” drone? What is registered?
You just have to register for a license on the FCC website. After going through the application stuff, you put a sticker on your drone identifying the registration number, kind of like a little license plate.
Awesome video. How long would you say it took to make this loop (minus Crazy Horse), providing time for lookout and wildlife stops?
Thank you so much. I would say at least a half day. We started very early so that we had a better chance of seeing wildlife. We hope you enjoy it!
@@TodayisanAdventureDay it’s a dream trip that we hope to make a reality next year! Thanks again for your awesome videos.
Since this video was done 3 years ago not sure you all will answer my comment, but what time of year was this , we will be there in Mid September of 2024 ?
We were there in the middle of June, 2020. What a crazy time! We TOTALLY enjoy the area and can't wait to get back.
👍
people from the Hills don't talk like this.
