I absolutely love you guys. Blow off the naysayers and continue to be the adorable people that you are. I joined your channel to follow your journey, to experience your challenges and be supportive regardless. I must admit, your natural banter absolutely cracks me up. I truly enjoy getting to watch the transformation of your lives, your home and your fur and wool babies. You are both very unique and inspiring. Thank you for sharing the amazing history of your country and culture. Without such contributions, my country, yes I'm afraid so Scott, America would not be as diverse and rich. The best thing we've had wash up on the shore below us was the carcus of an old pine chest of drawers. We then found the four drawers scattered along a quarter mile stretch.
It now lives in the house.
It's in book of things found on the shore in Orkney..

Your videos just get better and better! Sillier and more fun! You both are so much more comfortable on camera than you were at the start. Delightful! "I repeat! Don't be repetitive!" But my favorite Katie line lately was the murmured whisper as she stood by a derelict croft: "bracken." Bwahaha!

I think a zip wire (or more) leading from the top of a hill down to the er, bottom, would save a great deal of effort after walking up a hill. And I think we'd all smile broadly to see Katy whizzing downwards and we'd laugh heartily to witness Scott doing it. Well. I'd smile and laugh, for sure.

Having done similar (when many years younger) can only admire all the effort put in and the ache of the body from repetitive jar back as one keeps on "beating the lag out of the stones"! Glad that l no longer have to do the like but sincerely enjoy the memories evoked!😅And ld only wet sand to catch the fall out and brush up at the time, generator was unreliable, and budget tight then. Hi , really enjoying the channel. Re the constant dust. Maybe of some help. We converted an old barn with internal walls covered in lime mortar. We found using a fine water spray to spray the wall before hand helped but also to spray the air periodically as it pulls the dust down with it.
But yes the dust gets everywhere and is a nightmare to live in whilst completing the renovation. Stick at it, worth it in the end !

Looks like the "Boat Shed" was modeled on the traditional hebridean barn (best example nowadays is the one at Applecross) , with its stone pillars and open sides, which allowed a covered space for drying hay or grain and for winnowing. I'm guessing the boat shed was much later, though and (like the other stone shed that you showed) built by the owners father, who clearly had an interest in traditional buildings.

WOW!! Are you using the new camera? I noticed the sharpness as soon as Katie started talking. Fantastic!
