Another classic with an amazing person and artist. I went to see Kings X at their first show after Covid in NYC- the boys were nervous but they were killing it - then Paul jumped up on stage with his Keytar and it was madness. Cheers from NY
I grew up watching Paul on Letterman as far back as I remember. I never truly appreciated his career until I started getting serious about playing guitar- wow- he is one of a kind!!!
Kenny, this is such a joy to watch. Just two legendary musicians with absolutely no ego sharing amazing stories and having a good time. Your interview style is so conversational and it works so well. You and Paul are two of my favorites musicians of all time, and I enjoyed the hell out of this. Dude, thank you for this.
Phenomenal interview! Kenny, you played Don Kirshner's show in 1980. I had a tape of it and played it constantly. That show was as fun as your interview with Paul Shaffer. Thanks again!!!
This is a great one! I help run a restaurant in Greenville SC and the owner and I are always talking music throughout the course of the day. Kenny's name comes up all the time and this interview with Paul had us super pumped. Thanks for keeping us going, Kenny!!
Don't swing so much? Wow? That's just cold, man! It's all about that Aronoff Swing! Thanks for this and all that beautiful music, Kenny. Love from Finland!
For yrs ive ben waiting to say just how cool paul S. Is many nights id fall asleep watching letterman .but would awaken to the great music being played by him and his band .alot of times it was backing a new single and artist .and how fat the sound was outta a crummy tv thanks again paul
Of the most memorable times I have seen you. this I remember, maybe you don't but here goes........I saw you with JCM in Montreal and you put the beater through the bass drum head and the roadies swapped it out and you never missed a beat, I think I was Paper and Fire, but man it was cool! You became my drumming hero along with NP........thanks for the great memories. ALWAYS A FAN OF YOU!
That was great. Love Paul. Watched him on every single Letterman show, NBC & CBS, plus SNL and I've read his highly entertaining biography. He's played with EVERYONE. Plus, he's a fellow Canadian. Thanks for this.

Paul Shaffer is an interesting man and so are you Kenny, great show as usual but you and Paul are alike great players that let their playing do the talking awesome awesome kenny👏👏
Grew up watching Letterman before he moved to CBS. I thought he had the coolest band on TV. I was always checking to see who was performing or was sitting in with the band.
Being from Thunder Bay It was great to hear the city mentioned in regards to Paul's roots. How about getting another Canadian on Kenny that being Corey Hart? Keep up the great work
Thanks for this mate, I have heard of Paul before but now I’ll check him out. Cheers🎼🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Edit: I don’t think he remembers you 😂 & he ended up interviewing you too I hope you both make an album together, I loved it💙
Barry.. I can't remember the dates I subbed for Anton, but it was 3 or 4 times. First time was at NBC and the rest were at CBS.. Between subbing for Anton and playing with special guests, I performed on Letterman 75 times. We did songs like Basket Case and Brown Sugar to warm up the audience before Dave would do his monologue to them..
I’m just infantry but next time I see our popular programming VP I’ll ask what’s up. I dig the interviews, heartily endorse the philosophy of turning yourself into a missile. @@KennyAronoffOfficial

@dongiller Kenny claims he filled in for Anton at NBC, yet he mentions playing warm up songs from Green Day. When exactly did he sub?
