No kizzy, I did the exact same thing you did at Microcenter. Went there for the very first time, did months of research to make sure I get the correct parts for a great 1440p gaming experience, and I only spent like $1,350 with the whole bundle deal they had going with the motherboard, cpu, and ram kit combo. Only downside is I have my ram speed at 5200 because if I got any higher, my computer will not post and it’s an endless black screen. But BESIDES THAT, it’s perfect for me. I bought my first computer back in 2020. It was an Omen 30L with an RTX 2060 and a ryzen 7 3700x. It was a decent computer at the time, but with the new games coming out, there was zero chance I was going to enjoy playing a game at 1440p, high settings, high fps. Anyway, point being, that Microcenter deal was such perfect timing for me. Pairing it with the 7800xt, I can finally enjoy playing games without worrying about lowering graphical settings, lowering my fps, and worrying about temperatures.

I get this video is a few months old now but my build was $1249 from micro center, r7 7700x with 7800rx, 32g ddr5@6000mhz, 2tb crucial m.2 650 mother board with wifi/bluetooth, deep cool cooler and deepcool case, 850watt gold rated psu. CPU/ram/mother board bundle was $399 and the 7800rx was best deal I could find at $489 at micro center. I'm glad its a 2 hour drive to get there as I could spend a lot of money there, great deals and they have what you want in stock.

No new monitors sadly but they are coming

I wonder which budget card would be good for 4K medium/high 120fps? The 7800xt looks like a good choice. Kind of a shame people only test ultra settings.

Be sure to check the speeds your build will be cool with, like with my build above i found that while its not the highest without being absurd lol, but my build maxes out at 6k for the ram. Anything higher im pissing away money. If you want the best for your system find what its max that it can ustilize and pick that. That extra 30-40+ could go towards something else and still keeping in budget

if you're that happy increasing your budget like that then it would be really cool to get a more powerful graphics card and/or cpu, but neither is particularly necessary for most gaming needs tbh so u could just spend your money on accessories like great monitors, mouses, keyboard, and headset
why did he not mention the thermal paste or the liquid cooling cost? im thinking of getting this setup but with a deepcool ak620 so i dont need to worry about the maintenance needed for a liquid cooled cpu. also would recommend getting a gold tier psu so you have zero worry about psu going bad (Corsair RM750e (2023) 750 W seems to be good?).

No, stock coolers are the BARE MINIMUM when it comes to getting the chips to run. Get an AIO for best temps or get an aftermarket air cooler(there's some great coolers on the cheap side), it'll be worth it when you don't have to deal with high temps/thermal throttling.

Honestly? Save for a whole new system, it's more than worth it. The 3600x will bottleneck newer GPUs and upgrading your CPU doesn't make sense if you're going to use a 1080.
@@ivnq That would be worth it, I bought/built my brother a PC last month and he loves it. 13700K and 4070, he has no complaints and is loving(He came from an xbox series S). 2 months ago I built myself a new PC as well. Went from a 1070 and i5 10400F to a 13700K and 4070 ti :) I play pretty much everything on ultra at 1440p, hitting those high refreshrate numbers in pretty much every game(Without DLSS/FG)

If you're looking to do more productivity focused tasks(video editing, 3D renders, streaming, etc) I'd say go with a 14th gen i7 and RTX 4070 ti. If it's specifically for only coding and gaming then AMD would probably be the way to go since you'd get better price to performance(as well as the fact games LOVE the AMD 3D vcache), I'd say a 7800x3D and 7900XT
