Framing a house | Day 10 - Laying sheet flooring

We begin to lay down the sheet flooring and work out our wet areas and shower set downs.
This video has the 10th and 11th day compressed into one, as I was only on site for a few hours on the first day.

Quick tip, don’t hit the male side of the sheet in for flooring. Always hit the female side. Smacking a sledgy into a bash block into the tongue can cause the sheet to spilt.
As a few others have mentioned get the builder to provide sika for adhesive also provide screws to screw the sheets with a QuikDrive screw gun, both of these will save you down the track with squeaky floors and avoid call backs and back charges.

spot on. And don't slide the sheets into position. Only wipe the glue of the top chord of the joist.

Hi Dave , I love your passion for trade , mate floor sheets are usually installed opposite to your install , if works go with it , sledge hammer female end , also to stop squeks which 90 % of time is squeaking on tongue once swollen overtime in build time , a bead of glue in tongue groove solves that and sheets require screws now by good builders , love your videos mate ...........

have alook into sika instead of liquid nails. I found it works better with movement and expansion. Little more pricey tho :(

Hi Dave -what spacings are those posi's? I have an issue with a 3600 sheet if I do 450 centres the end of the sheet doesn't land on a joist (perimeter based framing) what do I do here, add another joist at the end?

Hey mate. The best way to do it, is having your first posi at 405mm, and then go 450’s from there

You just line up the Posi's with the X marks on the floor as they are always the same on every sheet
