Hey mate, love the videos! When you have a few of these to do, try taking your time with the first, check it, then put a straight cutter with a Templar bearing in your router. All the plates will come out exactly the same. I find this the easiest way when I have an entire level or multiple of the same detail 👍🏽

Best and most accurate way I’ve seen our formworkers cut curves in ply is with a router/router jig.
Pretty similar to your setup with the nail through the timber to get the radius but with a 100mm rip of ply with a router attached to the end of it.
Takes 15 minutes to set up the jig at first but gives a perfect curve every time without having to freehand with a jigsaw

Double sided tape measure flipped upside down to mark the studs on the plates, it’ll bend with it and sit flat for more accurate spacing.

Great job again mate. Maybe try cutting the formply in half and doubling it up, that way you’re only doing half your cuts. In commercial laser disto measures are your best friend. One more thing Milwaukee makes a curved speed square for round walls. 😁

      Thanks mate!
I thought about doing that with the form ply, but I was worried that the jigsaw blade might bend and cut the bottom sheet at a slightly different size. (Honestly it probably wouldn’t have been an issue)
I’ve never heard of a curved speed square before. I need to get my hands on that

Cool project. Try using the jigsaw instead of pencil when you were tracing the radius. Might be hard to keep sturdy though if you don’t have screw holes in the jigsaw sole. If it works it would be spot on perfect and quick

This video on how to frame up for a curved wall is brilliant. Is there another video showing how you lined the wall. Did you bend standard plasterboard, or did you use flexible plasterboard? Any advice? Thanks.

The best way to test the difference is by using the Trakkie dak test method. Have your grey or black trakkie daks from Kmart on…the clip the gun on and hit the start on your stop watch , quickest gun to pull your pants down to knees is the heaviest 😂
